The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District issued the following statement:
PRVWSD Closes Boat Ramps
Due to drought conditions and subsequent decreased water levels on the lake, the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District has been forced to close some of its public boat ramps.
The Twin Harbor Channel Lane boat ramp will close on Monday, October 12th so that repairs can be made during the low water conditions.
Fannin Landing and Brown’s Landing boat ramps were closed earlier this week for the hazardous conditions at the ramps caused by the low water level.
All other public boat ramps are open at this time, but will be continually evaluated for safety conditions. The boating public is urged to use extreme caution in the operation of all watercraft on the lake during these low water level conditions.
The PRVWSD will reopen all public boat ramps as lake level conditions improve.

The ramp at Ratliff Ferry is pretty hazardous too. There's signs indicating 'end of ramp' and there appears to be a sharp dropoff at that point. I don't think I'd chance it.
The west ramp at Twin Harbor has for years been dangerous. Once your tires back down the ramp and drop off the concrete, there is no way to pull the trailer out. Maybe these repairs will help with that issue. I do hope the authorities will use this occasion to take care of business and make improvements instead of bitching and moaning about funding and access and such. Just fix the damned things quietly and move on. We don't need memoranda from Sigman to the press.
