There is apparently some trouble brewing around the McDonald's on Beasley. A known reader sent in this email before noon today:
Email #1:
just went to McDonald's on Beasley (at 55) for breakfast (about 8:30).
While at drive thru window, a blue car pulled up right next to me (some kind of sedan with big tires and cool looking spinners... Bright blue car) and started wildly gesturing.
I went through the "are you telling me my tire is low on air?" and "are you trying to talk to the drive thru lady?" set of gestures. He clearly shook his head and pointed gesturing "no, YOU!"
While right next to me, he wouldn't roll his window down.
Then, oddly, he pulled out a huge stack of money and held it to his ear like a cell phone. He then pointed at me again and gestured with two fingers that something was small. About this time I decided not to wait for my drink. I put it in drive and fled.
If anyone else reports anything about this guy, I got a good look at him.
With this start to his day, I have a feeling I won't be the only one with an odd interaction with this guy today.
Email #2:
Upon further consideration, I think the folks in the store were in on it. I feel like the point was to be threatening without crossing any lines to get me to flee without getting food.
However, in not sure how they gain from me 1. Paying with a credit/debit card and leaving without food.
When I drove away, the car started to follow me, until it was clear I was leaving towards 55. Then, he turned back towards mcd s. He was not after me. He was also not fleeing the mcd parking lot.
I called to speak with the manager. Not sure I actually got the manager, but every time I started to tell my story...."you are breaking up...I can't hear you..."
The manager did not want to hear me. My phone was not breaking up.
From the same location in my house, I called a different mcds location and talked to that manager. I told that manager the whole story. (She heard me fine.). She explained that she gets lots of complaints about that location and that she knows how the employees are at that location.

Some people are just stupid, you have to be on the defense at all times when you are in the War Zone. Find a safer place to eat.
"However, in not sure how they gain from me 1. Paying with a credit/debit card and leaving without food."
Start checking your credit card statement and bank account statement every day.
This McDonald's has always been a little suspicious to me.
I stopped going to that one because they could never get my order right.
I laugh every time I see someone buying fast food with a credit card.
Fine dining just ain't what it used to be.
The owner of all the McD's in town, Mr. Walker, got a nice award from the Bd. of Supervisors just last week. Looks like he may have some work to do at this location if this one is his also.
I go there often because it's close by. If you will notice, they always tell you the ice cream machine is broken. My State Food Inspector wife tells me that it breaks because they fail to clean it properly.
Get a CCW and training. Carry a gun of decent caliber and know how and when to use it. Also, keep interactions with the local wildlife to a minimum. A good place to start is by staying out of their " areas".
The whole point to me is that McDonald's that grants franchises needs to know what is happening at this store. Usually when I travel out of state alone, I go to McDonald's because they have good coffee and safe restrooms. Usually cleaner than service stations. When this ceases to be the case, the whole chain loses.
Just wondering if the writer is white or perhaps a woman? In other words, was this just "messing with whitey?"
I go to the Beasley Road McD often. Always find the employees extremely courteous.
I go through there couple of times a week. Wont go again--
This was my email (written on iPhone while performing other tasks...sorry it was so sloppy). I'm a white male. I have eaten breakfast at this location several times. I think this location has always been slow, but I've never felt I was in danger there before today. I was shaken today. Hindsight made me feel a little better about how close to death I came (I don't think he intended to kill me) but worse about how much organized evil is out there. It sucks to think that a group of folks could all watch or be aware of these goings-on and join in, cover up, or just stand by.
Still, I'm very confused about that experience. Why in the world did that happen? It makes no sense.
I went to B King across street and a buick pulled up fast next to me trying to get me to roll window down, they are fearless.
I'm a black woman and I have been since stopped going to that McDs. It gets all kinds of dregs from that gas station across from it, from those apartments near towards the back of it, to those hotels now where anybody seems to room up there, get a good nights rest so that they can scam or panhandle all day for liquor. The owner of a lot of them in Jackson, Mr. Joiner passed away last month, but IMO, they had been going down. I don't blame you for leaving, I would not have even gone there, screw convenience when my life could be on the line and the police always come AFTER the crime has gone down. People, be careful at ANY drive through. Judging from some of the characters I've seen behind those counters, I'd be reluctant to even hand my credit/ debit card to them.
I'M sending this post to Mcdonalds HQ, each member on Board of Supervisor, each member of the city consul, Mayor, Jackson Police & Tourism Dept. I figure they will see all how sloppy the town of Jackson is. It will cost me around $ 15.00 in postage but it's moneies well spent.
Maybe if the neighbors in the formerly affluent northeast Jackson neighborhood would stop trying to fight a sober living home and start fighting real crime (or as described here potentially dangerous thugs), then the west side of I-55 wouldn't be creepin' in your neighborhood. Instead, you educated fools band together in unity to try to fight a home that helps people. Hmmmm. Doesn't make sense to me. Come on KF, your views and hits are dropping faster than Longwitz's bought and paid for poll ratings. 'Bout time for you to run another nothing blog post about nothing. We need some more wasted wanna be media blog posting about nonsense. Help. A. Sista. Out.
Getting a egga muffin just ain't what it used to be.
And so close to the Comcast Customer Care Center (CCCC) where everybody in Jacktown who got their cable cut off last week comes in to bitch or return a box of receiver units and busted remotes. If you want to see a REAL circus, sit in THAT parking lot for thirty minutes. Then drive over for a cold Egg McMuffin served to you by the woman who got fired at Comcast last month. Can boob-city at Twin Peaks be far away?

McDonalds???? WTH? Who still eats there................
From what I saw on the 10:00 pm Channel 3 news as I was falling asleep last night, the Dedmond Brown gang is now managing the convenience store just across I-55 on Adkins. This store used to be a part of Albertson's and Brookshire's. The hood has officially arrived in formerly Fashionable Northeast Jackson.

Why didn't you pull your heat and bust a cap off, man up and grow a set.
Ahhhh, just think of what may be put on the egg McGarbage while you are't looking. Yum.
I'm sorry. But, "Watch out. There is apparently some trouble brewing around the McDonalds on Beasley" is about like today's ridiculous warning labels. "Do not pick up hot coals." You are further damaging the gene pool by publishing this.
I've heard a few stories about those nearby hotels as well. Stay out of that intersection.
7:13 has one stale take he uses every time he doesn't like a commenter's position. He's used it on me at least 3 times. Get fresh material, corndog. The irony of the binary comment is too much.
9:27 Three times? Can't you take a hint?
Damn, that is an excellent campaign message from Stanley Alexander. Cause, effect and plan of attack. Simple and to the point.
The irony is you are a broken record @9:27. If you knocked on as many doors for Billingsley as you leave comments here dogging Longwitz your candidate may just get a few votes.
Trouble in this area didn't just start. Anyone remember the out of town executives who were shot staying in one the surrounding motels/hotels in that area several years ago? They were from out of town and not familiar with the area.
@ 6:13, Leroy Walker does not own that location.
There is a reason why so many new hotels are sprouting up on all points of the compass outside the Jackson city limits.
They Are Jackson!
I stopped patronizing that establishment several years ago after paying for a sandwich then being told to "pull forward and wait". After waiting 15 minutes, I went inside where I was totally ignored by the staff at the counter. After trying unsuccessfully to get someone to acknowledge me, I just asked, loudly enough to be sure I was heard, for the manager. At that point, some woman asked what I wanted. I told her I had been waiting 15 minutes for my sandwich -which I still did not have. She then called me a liar (loudly). A family sitting near the front window where my car was still sitting yelled back "yes, she HAS!". Again, I demanded to see the manager. FINALLY, a black man came from somewhere in the back of the store. As he approached the counter, he DRAMATICALLY held his arms out to "shield" his flock from me, like you'd put your arms out to hold your children back from the traffic. When I told him my complaint, he said "if you don't like the service, there's the number to call" and pointed to the franchise sign. No refund. No sandwich. Just walked away. I was not stupid enough to hang around any longer. He and every employee was obviously anti-white and probably wouldn't have hesitated to beat at 60 year old white woman half to death.
Thank you for stepping up, 10:59 pm. I appreciate that you had to try to ignore a bunch of racist comments in order to do so. Stay strong.
WTH, paranoia or hysteria is rampant on this thread...
2:02 So people should doubt and discount their own personal experiences in favor of your delusions?
Don't hold your breath.
This story is very concerning. While I'm thankful this guy did not get hurt, something must be done about the management of this McDonald's location before someone else does.
However, some of the people making this a Jackson thing (or a black thing) and commenting on crime on this side of the river are strangely silent about the woman who was shot in the head in Rankin County (Reservoir area) last night. Honestly, you guys sound like the people in Illinois and Michigan (who have their own problems with racism) laughing about Mississippi being racist while failing to realize they have a problem as well.
... you guys sound like the people in Illinois and Michigan ...
You sound stupid for writing someone so inane.
Dang Burke, you're white guilt oozes out of every pore, apparently. 10:59 didn't need either your approval(mighty white of you), or your support to voice his/her opinion. Now, THAT'S racist, sister.
I dumped the white man's guilt burden a long time ago, 2:53. Now I say "thank you" when anyone who is expected to be a guilt projector is willing to risk the consequences for acknowledging that race doesn't matter until racists open their mouths or their laptops or take up arms against other races.
"strangely silent about the woman who was shot in the head in Rankin County (Reservoir area) last night"
Nimrod - reading comprehension problem? Those comments are on THAT THREAD! Not this one!
"Bury him under the jail" seems to be the consensus. Is that not harsh enough for you?
I'm calling b.s. on Burke. Burke's patronizing approval of someone who claims to be a "black woman" (we'll never really know if that's true, now will we?) followed by the lame "stay strong" is typical. That black woman didn't need your approval, but I'm sure you feel much better having given it. I think it's time for you to refill your chard, hun.
"The hood has officially arrived in formerly Fashionable Northeast Jackson."
8:05; getchur self a map. This location is not considered northeast Jackson. And as far as your 'hood arrival' comment, this area has been HOOD CENTRAL and ROBBERY CENTRAL for a decade at least. The high level visiting engineer from Nissan was shot in the stomach not a hundred yards from this Mac location. The visiting Bass Classic fisherman was shot in the head and killed not far from this location a year ago. What's now Comcast was a K-Mart twenty years ago, not a hundred yards north in the same stretch of asphalt. Crime, theft and fear closed that store. Multiple crimes are committed nearby in the Cowboy Baloney parking lot and the parking lot of Target (what a name). If you think this is 'new' to this area, you must have recently moved to the area.
I would not approach that store in a Sherman Tank, much less roll down my window at the drive thru.

12:44, I have never experienced anything quite that intense around Jackson, YET. But I've had a dozen or so experiences which have come fairly close. We've been trying to move out of the South, for some time, now. And it's because of treatment like that, as much as the crime.
Things are getting worse, and people are not just fleeing to Madison. They're fleeing Mississippi, if not the entire South. "Get out while you're young and still CAN, is what people are telling their kids." Your experience is a fantastic illustration of WHY that is being said.
Perkins Family Restaurant also left the area as did some restaurants across the interstate. The Nissan exec was shot at Towneplace Suites by Marriott. Note they pulled out soon after that and the location is now Extended Stay America. DO NOT stay in the area.
That Chinese place over there is the real deal. Maybe the thugs don't like raw carp, but I've never had a problem there.
8:47; I think you have your continents mixed up. He was Japanese.
3:01 I don't think you have a clue regarding geography.
He was talking about a nearby Chinese restaurant not the gentleman who was killed.
Looks like I'll need to slide by there for breakfast tomorrow.
