Mayor
Tony Yarber and the Jackson City Council are welcoming a new business to the
Capital City.
The

a tax abatement to Cherokee Brick & Tile Co. The company will make an at
least $13 million investment in the project.
The
family-owned, Georgia-based company will open a manufacturing facility at 2050
Forest Ave., the former location of Tri-State Brick & Tile.
Pate
Rowell, the Cherokee Brick & Tile’s commercial sales representative,
said the company initially will create 20 to 50 jobs. The company is expected
to create up to about 100 jobs.
Kingfish note: The tax abatement is $73,768 a year for five years.

wish tony yarber had been mayor back before ergon, world-com and others left....might haved saved the city
Tony Yarber great for the city! I am from Madison County born and bred but our capital is Jackson and I want it to survive. I remember going to the parades downtown in the 60's, I was a kid and felt safe. Now, I am terrified to go anywhere downtown Jackson much less in the evening. I hope that Yarber does great things for Jackson. I will support him in anyway I can.
He is new blood with fresh ideas. It's the ones that stay in ANY office too long that become corrupt (or they are corrupt before they get into office). I do believe that Yarber is good for the city.
Good for Jackson.
Cherokee Brick & Tile Co.
What a racist name.
Next thing you know you will tell us "man who speak with forked tongue" is in change.
darn! that was going to be the site of the che guevarra tie-dye tshirt co-op!
I voted for Tony Yarber twice.
I'm feeling good about my choice thus far.
Keep up the good work, Mayor Yarber!
