Speakin' of Barbour and 'tricks', front page Clarion this morning sez 'Blacks are the Key' to this election.

Thanks to Thad prostituting himself (there is no other word for it), it's his pandering to black democrats that the paper feels will or won't swing it for him.

This speaks volumes about Cochran. All he needs now is a Bennie Thompson commercial claiming Thad has kept the entitlement train runnin' through the Delta for forty years. Look for it at a TV station near you soon.

I have defended Governor Barbour in the past until this moment. It sickens me that he has interfered in this election and seems to be encouraging the "Scott Sisters" crowd to deny and derail the will of the true conservative party on June 24th. Haley, you disgust me.

It really is worse than that MV. Every ding dang GOP politician in Mississippi is lined up right behind Cochran. They are attached completely to his campaign at the hip.

Think about it. Cochran's puppeteers are out in the open for all of Mississippi to see seeking and encouraging Democrat votes in a Republican election. All in order to shove down the throats of unwilling Republicans their demands for total power and complete unquestioning control.

It is their way or no way at all. Obama opened the border spigot full-on to force an immigration crisis and now the GOP power brokers use the exact same tactic to maintain their stranglehold over party matters. It is all right there out in the open. There is no hiding or denying it. They've just undone in a few weeks 25-30 years of Republican party building.

There is no longer any reason at all to be loyal to the Mississippi Republican Party or in the elections next year to the politicians who are jackbooting now behind Cochran as the puppeteers veer his campaign hard to the left. None. Every McDaniel voter, win or lose, is now a free agent and every Cochran voter is stuck in the killing field dealing with the aftermath of their party burning.

Childers is not that liberal. Way more Blue Dog than Yellow. He's not a hardcore leftist ideologue. Far from it. If the Democrats get him a top shelf campaign management team and enough money it won't be hard at all to move him in the eyes of voters to more conservative positions -- especially on economic matters -- and pick off votes. After this self-neutering Cochran is now the easier mark for Childers to defeat, not McDaniel.

8:30 -- Explain clearly why it is OK to receive Tea Party help from outside, and millions of dollars from the groups you all have, and not allow voters in the state to vote for the candidate they feel best represents their position on the issues.

Just go to her website for the National Tea Party and you'll hear her pandering to EVERYONE OUTSIDE our state to come in, volunteer, send money (I guess we're just too stupid to do this ourselves and everyone from FL, OH, NJ, TX, etc. has to come in and do it for us).

You Tea Party people tend to believe you ARE the voice of the Republican party in MS, and nationally you garner, per Gallup Polling less than 22% support nationally.

Well, I"m afraid you forgot that there are moderate people who will work across party lines.

I know I'm hopelessly old school about this, but Republicans need to vote in the Republican primary and Democrats need to vote in the Democrat primary. I'm not sure the damage to our party isn't already done. If Cochran wins on the backs of the Democrats it will be next to impossible for many Republicans to support him in the general election. The only way we have a chance to keep this seat in the Republican caucus is to elect Chris McDaniel on Tuesday and elect him big. You speak as if you represent everyone in the Republican Party, and if we don't agree with you, we must be Democrats.

Sad -- but it didn't have to come to this. Having all the outside influence, ratcheted this up to a level where we're destroying ourselves inside the MS Republican party, and the state of Mississippi because others have decided to make this "THEIR" battleground.

Might want to take a hard look at how your side has utilized people from outside the state of Mississippi to win this, and then assess why you're getting such pushback.

I'm sure you'll reason it away that "everyone" has been doing it, but look closely at when it began, and where it began for the June 3rd primary.

When Charlie Ross ran for Congress, Mounger and Powell told him not to run because they were going to back Harper. Needless to say Charlie lost. They said he was going to lose if they didn't back him.

That is the state of politics in Mississippi. A cartel of donors. Don't get their $$$, good luck running for office. Is that what you really want?

As a lifelong Republican who has never cast a vote for a Democrat in a statewide election, I am sickened by the antics of some McDaniel supporters, especially on social media. I have seen calls to "die you old man die" and similar on multiple occasions. I will never vote for McDaniel.

Are they REALLY McDaniel supporters? I posted urging respect toward Senator Cochran on the Thad Facebook page, stating McDaniel would be horrified by their behavior and questioning if they were really his supporters. My comments were deleted along with others who posted respectfully and were then deleted and blocked. Thad sucks and f $&@ Thad, etc remained there for hours and may be there still. I thanked Senators Cochran and McCain for their military service and I was blocked, but F$&@ Thad wasn't? Really? Just like the phone call I got pretending to poll for McDaniel and then ridiculing me when I said I was voting for him. A lot of that going around...look at who benefits. It isn't McDaniel.

Hearing significant bump in absentees in counties that Cochran. As has been reported earlier, several experienced pros were brought in to run GOTV. I know Hayes Dent, for example is running efforts in the Delta.

It all comes down to the Democratic vote. Otherwise, McDaniel wins. If enough Democrats vote, which with money being handed out, the preachers pushing Thad, transporting voters, high level strategists focused solely on accomplishing just that, it could easily happen. I was driving through a predominantly African American neighborhood in Madison today near the Rosa Scott School (Madison Central's 9th Grade campus) Numerous Thad signs including one in the yard of what I believe to be a parsonage. Oh to be a fly on the wall in a few Churches on Sunday.

KF, Harper only won in 2008 because Landrum lost by covering up his lie. Landrum had that race bought until Rounsaville did what Harper was afraid to do and fell on the grenade by pointing out Landrum basically never voted. Landrum lied and said he did, then got caught in the lie by the woman who's signature Landrum claimed as his, and the voters went to the next choice, Harper. Harper would not be in Congress today if Landrum had enough sense to just fess up and move on. We got lucky dodging that bullet. Not the Gregg is much better.

Does that not confirm that McDaniel is whatever he needs to be to get elected? Before he was running for office, he voted in the Democratic primary in 2003. He is a trial lawyer.

He started voting in the Republican primary when he ran for State Senate. The first time he ever voted in a Republican primary was the day his name was on the ballot.

Hayes Dent is going to manage the Delta vote? Give me a break! Hayes Dent is totally irrelevant once he steps outside the old building in Downtown Jackson that houses the State Republican Party Headquarters.

Ask Lynn Fitch if Hayes Dent is irrelevant. He took a candidate picked by most to finish third in a three horse race and won. His role is not to sway the Delta vote, it is to get it out. My understanding is that Yazoo, Leflore and Washington are up with absentee ballots, so someone knows what they are doing.

So, now we have it that Hayes Dent got Lynn Fitch into office? OK. Sure he did.
