The Ridgeland Police Department issued the following statement.
Officers responded to 7146 Old Canton Road after family members contacted Ridgeland PD regarding the welfare of the occupants at this home. Entry was made into the residence where it was discovered that Ida Thomas Welch, age 76, Vicky Renee Welch, age 56 and Crystal Lynn Welch, age 42 had all been shot to death in the home. The crime scene was processed with the assistance of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

That is so very sad.
Crystal Welch was a law professor and practicing attorney. She was also the president of the board for the Mississippi ACLU.
The other victims were her mother and sister.
Very tragic and senseless.

Has anyone mentioned what or how this happened? DV? Random? Targeted? Something about this seems very odd. 3 middle aged or older women all related killed?
