Beth Ann White is going to prison. Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens issued the following statement.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announces the successful prosecution in the trial of 52-year-old Beth Ann White who was convicted on four counts of aggravated DUI. On November 1, 2021, White caused a crash that tragically claimed the life of Allison Conaway and her six-month-old son and seriously injured two other children. At the time of the crash, White, who had three previous DUI convictions, had a blood alcohol level of .273%, which is more than three times the legal limit. Pursuant to Mississippi law, White faces up to 25 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections on each count. White is expected to be sentenced on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. “The scope of this tragedy is difficult to measure. Ms. White consistently chose to disregard the safety of herself or the public, ultimately leading to the death of two citizens and destroying the lives of many others. To this day, Ms. White has failed to show a shred of sorrow or remorse for her actions.” DA Owens said following the verdict. “I hope that this verdict will bring closure to Conaway family.”

It should not have taken 4 DUI’s to do this.
Long overdue.
The look on her face says, "Damn! I could really use a drink right now"
What a disgusting POS she is. Just abject refusal to stop drinking and driving.
Maybe she rot in prison. We are all safer for it.
Justice is finally served!!
The blood-sucking lawyers knew her case had no chance when they took it. Shame on them for suckering her into thinking she might get off. It's all about the moo-lah.
Which bar did the defense lawyers gather at after the verdict was read?None of them give a rat's ass as long as there's a payday.
Lock her up!
Did they ever decide who ran the red light?
I live in Raymond & have stopped driving on Hwy. 18 not only because of people like her - but also because too many other drivers in the county & South Jackson run red lights, speed & drive recklessly. I drive into Clinton & catch I-20 from there - & so do my neighbors. To think Jackson leaders believe they can turn Hwy. 18 into another Lakeland Drive is laughable.
to 4;16........you dont know much about the legal system ,do you?
If actually appealed to the MSSC, hopefully they will uphold the verdict quickly. She needs to stay somewhere she can not kill/injure anyone again.
Hope the surviving family does well. RIP to the mother and baby.
@ 7:25 - I'm the poster you mentioned. I don't pretend to be a legal scholar. Perhaps you can tell me what I'm missing.
If you're about to mention 'entitled to representation', that's of course, true; however, a guilty plea is also often a reality in a slam dunk.
Wonder when she will be charged with contraband in a detention facility for her over dose.
