JPD is chasing the suspect in the Parham Bridges murder right now. Chase started around Walgreens (Canton Mart) and is now on the frontage road.
Update (1:00 PM) Chase stopped on Ridgewood near Adkins.

I was just going to tell you this! I was at Burger King, pulling out to go to gas station, all hell broke out. Red pickup came thru, 2 police vehicles right on it, went under I55 bridge onto frontage road on other side. Must have made the loop because they all came back down frontage road. Cops on top of him. Then all the other police vehicles hit....hauling butt down frontage road, I think they got on I55. Folks at the gas station with me---we all had our mouths dropped to the floor. That's some serious police presence and on top of that pickup. Fire engine lit up but went down Old Canton the other way, towards Parham Bridges. I couldn't get back here fast enough to tell you something HUGE is going on.
Initial appearances are that JPD is rockin' on this one!
Yee Haw !
I definitely almost got smashed as well pulling out of canton mart.
That SOB driving the red pickup needed to be stopped. Police did an outstanding job. Outstanding. As someone standing at that gas station, watching all of this, the officers driving should be thanked. Incredible job. The lead 2 police vehicles (black cars) were absolutely incredible. Bless them.
This is obviously Chowke's "Real Time Crime Center" in action. Right?
Talk about returning to the scene of the crime! I figured the shooter would be two states away by now.
"This is obviously Chowke's "Real Time Crime Center" in action. Right?"
Actually it's Chowke's "Real Time Crime Factory" in action.
Them Lightpoles Will Stop A Car Chase Ever Time...
Kick ass JPD! The Mayor finally put the dogs out!!! Thank you and Thank you! Great job JPD!
I thought Chowke prohibited police chases in Jackson. Has that changed or was this one alright because it was too close for comfort to his house?
Chokwe must be allowing a few pursuits now that he's trying to save face before the election. JPD is still a sh*t show. I work in LE in the metro area so I know how inept they still are.
Hopefully, the killer succumbed in the wreck or from a JPD bullet.
Mayor didn't have a dang thing to do with this, 1:46 pm. All law enforcement involved (black vehicles, JPD, and Capitol Police) did a great job. I'm sure when they hit Ridgeland, Ridgeland PD were right there too.
@3:08. Exactly! Where is this praise for the mayor coming from? Maybe he reads and comments on JJ and we didn't realize it.
@1:46 PM Rukia, thanks for checking in.
I’m sure the potholes slowed down his escape which helped po-po get him. Good job Jackson!
If anyone needs thanks, it is the Chief of JPD. Thank you sir and your officers for taking care of business (TCOB).
@7:16 - Thankful JPD acted, but JPD has been called to parham bridges for threats recently and refused to act. This could have been avoided. There’s a nice community of tennis players at the park every day/night. Some of the nicest, most welcoming folks you could imagine. Many races and people of different opinions out having fun together. The community close to the park is vibrant with excellent shops and opportunities. It’s held strong despite the increase of homeless, prostitutes, and drug dealers arriving in the area. This small corner of town has remained a bright spot in a blighted city.
I suspect the tennis players that have hung in there through car break-ins and threats have had enough and will find other places to go. Without that crowd the park will go downhill fast. Without the park, this nice community within Jackson will be lost.
Unfortunately the city government does not understand what they have, what it could be, or unfortunately what it will become. Maybe this could be a wake-up call and we’ll see more swift responses like today. Maybe they close one entrance to the park and put a guard at the other. Maybe other towns will quit dumping their lost people in Jackson. Maybe the city will protect its citizens that just want to walk or play in their beautiful local park. Maybe it’s not too late. But it is close.
Will Kenny and the Mayah be lobbying to fire these effective officers?
Police chases are not allowed in the Sanctuary City for criminals.
Are volunteer security guards, two at a time, pistols hung from belts, legal for Parham Bridges walking patrols? Walking and Tennis are such great activities for male, female and all ages. JPD can likely offer little more than drive by.
Stokes has always said he supported chasing violent criminals, especially murder suspects.
8:55, how would a white male "volunteer" security guard (a civilian legally, with no liability coverage) be treated by both criminal and civil courts in Jackson MS and Hinds County if they shoot someone, especially an African American, no matter whether you are attacked or being murdered? Ask yourself this. It won't be "a jury of YOUR peers."
I wouldn't even try it for self defense, with body cams and CCTV to back me up. One call, that's all-"wrongful death." Ka Ching.
I won't matter what the facts are.
Look at Treyon. That police department had arrest photos with the victim's head gouged and bleeding profusely, after the kid bashed his head in, and they, the PoPo, covered it up. He was nearly lynched for saving his own life.
Nope. Jacksonians own this anarchy, and no sane person would go there armed and looking to be jailed and sued. The fact don't matter. Don't even.
We, even retired cops, are not the police, and have no protection as we are not authorities. And no CCW "insurance" is not going to be in scope. Don't buy the CCW crap you read from keyboard commandos either.
