$20,000 bond for murder. What could go wrong?
JPD arrested T-Q two years ago for allegedly killing his cousin. His cousin's body was shot over 20 times. WLBT reported April 30, 2018:
The suspect accused of shooting his cousin to death Monday night appeared in court Tuesday morning.Hinds County Circuit Judge Tomie Green lowered his bond to only $20,000 on May 8, 2019 even though he was charged with murder. A Hinds County grand jury indicted T-Q for first degree murder on May 16, 2019. However, Judge Adrienne Wooten refused to increase his bond and let it remain at $20,000. The victim's family was not happy. WLBT reported June 19, 2019:
18-year-old T'Quarius Orion Jones pleaded not guilty after being charged with the murder of 20-year-old Justin Harper.
Police say the shooting happened on Cameron Street shortly after 5 p.m. A disagreement between the two men led to a fight.
An officer testified that Jones started a verbal fight with Harper and the two decided to go outside to settle things physically. After the fight, they went back inside and Jones later shot the victim 20 times with an assault rifle.
Jones was denied bond. Article & video.
According to Attorney Warren Martin, Hinds County Circuit Court Judge Adrienne Wooten denied the state’s request to increase a $20,000 bond for a first-degree murder suspect Wednesday. Wooten clarified that she did not set the bond.....Fast forward to March. T-Q got into a shootout with some other hoodlums at Sykes Manor Apartments. A police report states:
Judge Wooten also denied the state’s request to make him wear an ankle monitor.
He sent a press release Wednesday, stating that the family is “deeply hurt and disappointed by Judge Wooten’s decision to allow T’Quaris Jones to remain free for a $20,000.00 bond for a charge of first degree murder.” Article.Attorney Martin’s office represents the Harper family.
Mr. Jones stated that the black male exited the Charger and stated "What you doing out here, you shot my cousin". Mr. Jones stated that he killed black male, Justin Harper in April of 2018. Mr. Jones stated that the black male began to fire several shots at him. Mr. Jones stated that he took cover on the passenger side of his vehicle and returned fire from his Glock 17. Mr. Jones stated while returning fire, another unknown black male approached him &om behind and began to fire shots at him. Mr. Jones stated that he was struck in the right ankle. Mr. Jones stated that it was at this time he ran to his house at 3318 Rickay Drive. Mr. Jones stated that he was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Mr. Jones stated that he did not recognize either suspect. When asked where his gun was at, he stated that he had given it to his friend Shawn Dixon, black male. The police officers gave him..... drum roll......... a Mississippi Victims Bill of Rights Packet. T-Q's father later delivered the Glock to JPD headquarters.
Assistant District Attorney Sue Perry filed a motion to revoke T-Q's bond on May 27. However, T-Q was so outraged over the George Floyd homicide (and don't even think of bringing up that case in comments) that he allegedly took it upon himself to attempt to rob a gun store in Atlanta.
Per our conversation here are the screenshots from Mr. Jones's Facebook account showing him in Atlanta this weekend. At approximately 0700 on May 30, 2020, the car in this picture, along with 2 other vehicles approached a Federally licensed firearms dealer that had been burglarized during the overnight looting. One of those vehicles had previously driven by the business shortly before daybreak and returned with Mr. Jones's car and a third vehicle. The occupants of all three vehicles were wearing masks to conceal their identities. Upon arriving at the business, the occupants realized that ATF was on scene and vehicles fled the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicles were surveilled by other ATF Agents who were positioned further down the street. I have attached a photo of the back of the vehicle which was driven by Mr. Jones. Immediately after this photograph was taken ATF Agents activated the emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop and Mr. Jones accelerated to over 100 mph and ran multiple red lights to elude our Agents. The ATF Agents ceased their surveillance due to the danger to the public as this occurred in the crowded Buckhead District of Atlanta. Approximately 5 minutes later the surveillance unit reacquired the vehicle driven by Mr. Jones. When he realized that the surveillance unit was behind him, he entered a residential area at speeds of over 100 mph so the surveillance was terminated due to the danger to the public.
The vehicle driven by Mr. Jones is a rental car that was rented by the mother of one of Mr. Jones's deceased friends in Mississippi. If you review Mr. Jones's public Face book account, you will find the other attached photo that Mr. Jones posted announcing his trip to Atlanta. Also, there is a screenshot taken from a video that Mr. Jones posted on the afternoon following his eluding ATF Agents. In the video, Mr. Jones and his associates are eating lunch in Atlanta. The restaurant is located approximately 1 mile from the scene of the burglary and is located on the very same stretch of Piedmont Avenue where he first eluded ATF Agents. The orange Dodge Charger is visible parked in the background.
At this time we have no evidence to directly connect Mr. Jones to this crime, but based on his bond status we believe that this information would be of interest to the DA's office. If Mr. Jones is taken into custody please advise me as we would be interested in interviewing Mr. Jones....Ms. Perry filed an amended motion to revoke his bond on June 2. Judge Wooten will hold a bond revocation hearing at 2 PM today.
Kingfish note: Yet another example of how dysfunctional the Hinds County criminal justice system is. Don't expect Chowke and Rukia to say one word about this crap. Not.one.word.

“ T'Quarius” It’s like his parents wanted him to not have any job prospects.
Free T'Quarius.
What's he done to any of you?
Tomie Green- the gift that keeps on giving.
NO ONE and I mean no one has done more to harm Hinds County than Judge Green and her many "blessings."
I never want to see judge green wearing a black lives matter shirt. Clearly black lives mean nothing to her as she shows daily by her decisions. Actions speak louder than words judge.
Nothing will suffice other than vigilante justice. Nothing. This cretin is exactly what BLM and the Defund movements hope will take over every city.
I'm sure the people of NW ATL will not be too happy if they learn about this. I'm sure NW ATL has sixth graders smarter than Judge Green, literally smarter, probably the whole sixth grade class at Westminster.
Maybe someone should tell CNN about this. They would probably call it fake news. Do they even truly consider ATL their headquarters anymore?
Aw, a shootout at Sykes Manor, less than a thousand feet from the house I grew up in.
It's accepted as cultural. But you suburbanites better think twice before you decide to defend yourself or your property.
Hang tight while we look and see who donated to their campaigns. Just like people are expelling any and everything that has any association with racism, we have to hammer the people that donate to these judges campaigns. He who screams the loudest gets heard. Only way to get her and them out of office.
Tomie Green has only had opposition in one election over 20 years. The citizens must like what she does, as she keeps getting reelected.
Yup. That is why I laugh at the vigils and rallies. The Hinds County voters keep putting these judges in office and expect different results. After awhile, it's on them.
Shouldn’t the first question that is asked be, “Why hadn’t he gone to trial in the intervening two years?”

Exist.
that's incorrect June 17, 2020 at 10:44 AM. we suburbanites don't live in hinds county. we live in rankin and madison counties. and i can pretty much guarantee that if i have to defend myself, my family, or my property from one or more of hinds county's blessed youths, a jury of my peers will rule in my favor. stay out of hinds county, and you won't be subject to the hinds county justice system if something were to happen. also, it is not incumbent upon me to think twice before i defend myself, my family, or my property. it is incumbent upon the little piece of shit that made a long series of bad decisions to think twice before putting me in a position where i have to defend myself, my family or my property.
Hold her campaign contributors accountable for her incompetence. These are the people in your community that think Tomie Green is doing a good job as they contributed to the Committee to Re-Elect Tomie Green:

Defend yourself or your business with a gun while being white.
What is the definition of Insanity. See definition under Hinds County and City of Jackson, MS.
A hilarious number of plaintiff's attorneys featured on her donor list. No shock there.
11:46 for the win!
@11:46 AM,
Exactly! You stole my take on this.
I suspect the attorneys who practice in front of Judge Green contribute to her re-election campaigns out of fear that their clients won't get a fair shake if they don't. She's the only judge who has made feel that I was literally wasting my breath because she didn't know me (and was friends with opposing counsel). Her Court Administrator ignored repeated requests for a hearing date and wouldn't respond to emails.
How many of those donors are criminal defense attorneys that appear in front of the judge?
There appears to be a new mutation that has infected many on this site. Tomie Derangement Syndrome proves to be even more infectious than the lumamba precursor.
@2:12
Well,
I live in Jackson and I think tomie has blood on her hands. Chokwe is clueless just like he was in grade school with me at st. Joe
How much did each contribute?
2:12- Aren't you so clever.
Danny Cupit? The owner of Fenian's?
First he fires possibly the best bartender in the entire state and now I find out he gives money to Judge Green.
Does he realize how many former Fenian's regulars have left Jackson probably due to the crime? Something that Judge Green is partially responsible for.
@2:33 you can look that up on the MS Sec of State's website under campaign finance reports. Varying amounts between $250-$1500. Several have donated multiple times.
It's been 2 years, yet no trial? For murder?
That delay is the real crime.
