JPD tweeted the following statement and mug shots.
The Mississippi Army National Guard issued a statement last week:
The Mississippi National Guard is devastated at the loss of one of our own active guard service members...Sgt. Matory was a professional Soldier, serving as a Transportation Management Coordinator assigned to Echo Company, 2/20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Jackson, Miss. He has served our country with honor and integrity earning the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Parachutist Badge.Ironically, Sergeant Matory posted this message on his Facebook page last week. One of his fellow troops was recently murdered. Little did he know the words would soon be used to honor himself:
Rest easy, my brother. The news is unfortunate and saddening. We attended AIT and Airborne School together and I found myself thinking of you as little brother. Hoping that closure will be found for not only your friends and loved ones but also for you. A death that was undeserving and inhumane. I pray that those who committed this crime will be sought out and punished for what they have done.Rest easy, soldier. You're murder will not be forgotten.

Black folks,
White people aren't your problem, your own people are your problem. How many is that in the past few months? Chicago this past week? Damn, admit there is a fault and deal with it. Not another race, not a president, nobody but you can fix this. Quit trying to blame a culture problem on everyone else. Bet there will be no riots for this soldiers life.
#wokeup
Also, KF, I am asked to click on squares with motorcycles and its scooters and Vespa's.
His black life didn't matter?
Where's the riots, protests, and looting for this man?
I guess you only rate a civil disturbance if you're a thug?
BLM - please send a serious response.
UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE.
Horrifying! And nothing from the mayor. In fact, the day after this murder the mayor did act. He acted to stop chokeholds.
Mayor, chokeholds didn't kill this American hero.
Good Lord, what an awful mess we are in. A productive member of society and a good moral person that could have swayed many a black youth to a life of goodness has been taken away by degenerates. I think the first poster hit the nail on the head. I’m surprised it was even allowed to post.
Yes, totally agree, and thank the first poster.
Black lives matter all the time. Issue is when a black kills another black, there is often an arrest and prosecution without need for public outcry. Often when a white law kills a black, there is no prosecution without public outcry. Examples are George Floyd or young man murdered while running
Also when people talk about a culture problem, are you referring to American culture? Slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, kkk, taking land from native Americans, mass school shootings, Oklahoma City bombing, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Buddy, unibomber, shooting up people praying in church for the color of their skin.....if so, I agree the American culture is extremely violent...
Yes the mayor is more concerned about getting elected than this soldiers life. Where is the march for him?
@5:53
I can tell you've never been in the military.
8:42, let me fix that for you...
All lives matter, all of the time.
You're welcome.
I think 8:42 makes a valid point in the first paragraph. I have come to understand that a lot of the frustration arises from false statements that lead to failures to prosecute and no bills by Grand Juries, which have since been proven false by video evidence. I believe these instances are rare, but they have happened enough for many black people to distrust the criminal justice system when it comes to holding police officers accountable for unjustified homicides.
Will this be exploited by individuals for their own agendas? Of course it will. However, I am encouraged to see many black folks holding each other accountable for falsely claiming racism and/or abusing the current wave of goodwill flowing in their direction.
I will add that locally, thanks in large part to KF and JJ, we often have a public outcry when anyone of any race is murdered and the police, prosecution, and/or courts fail investigate, arrest, detain, prosecute, and/or remove the murderer from society.
@8:42, how about being respectful and not resisting arrest, fighting the police, or trying to litigate your case on the side of the road. In 99.9% of the cases, the officer used the force necessary to neutralize the threat.
Or...don't start shit, won't be shit.
Would like to know more about how the NG solider was killed. bullet passed through wall, was involved somehow and took a stray round...all we seem to know he was murderer but the goal was the murder of someone else. Two murders that night in Apartments.
I wonder if Judge Green or Wooten will set their bonds at no more than $100,000.??
7:19 There’s a video on the female Instagram page of the events that took place prior to the shooting. Long story short, the soldier went to these two place of employment down the street from the apts and started a fight. Once the Mgr came out and broke it up, the soldier punched the female(whom is also his baby mama) in the face. The baby mama got mad at the boyfriend/killer calling him a punk, etc for allowing it to happen. The boyfriend/killer then hops in the truck and tracks down the running soldier (who can be seen running through Walmart parking lot to the apts) The video ends once the truck speeds off, with the baby mama screaming baby come back don’t take the truck.
