Clearing house. Greer becomes County Admininstrator

Check out the new Board of Supervisors and their appointments in Madison County.  Katie Byrant Snell will replace Mike Espy as Board attorney.  Jim McKee (Stantech) will be the County Engineer. Road Manager will be Dan Guilett.  But the big surprise is Tony Greer.  He is the county administrator. See for yourself:

The new board also fired Integrity Group.

Looking at who is sitting where...is David Bishop Board President?

Anonymous said...

Is Steen the New Democrat?

Anonymous said...

Wow, baby lawyer replaces former congressman and cabinet secretary as county attorney. That's politics: to the victor -- and in the case, the Gov.'s daughter -- go the spoils.

Anonymous said...

Hinds did the same a couple years ago and the changes were positive. Glad to see Madison is following Hinds County's lead.

Anonymous said...

Tony Greer! Major Quality Hire! Way to go Madison County!

Anonymous said...

Katie is a light weight but appears to honest and Espy proved anyone can to the job. Will she still be with Butler Snow?

Anonymous said...

Bishop just sitting in chair vacated by Banks. That alone is worth seeing!

Anonymous said...

I think that is Dan Gaillet you're referring to (formerly with Pearl River Valley), not Guillett, but I may be wrong.

Anonymous said...

Just when you think a board can not be any more dumb... a bunch of newbies that don't know anything about running the county get elected to the board, and then proceed to fire and replace everyone who does know anything about running a county with more newbies who have no idea what they are doing. This is going to be bad. Good luck. Time to sit back with the popcorn and watch the fireworks.

Greer was the man chosen by Bryant and Barbour to protect the Kemper county plant on the PSC. After he lost, Bryant etc had to take care of him. they used pressure to make sure he got appointed. Same with Bryant's daughter. Now state officials have taken over Madison County.

Anonymous said...

Well, Katie Bryant is a very accomplished attorn ...

Heh heh heh. I'm sorry. I can't even make myself finish that smart ass remark. I'm assuming Madison needs something from Phil in the short term, and thinks it's worth enough to offset the expected cost of baby lawyer screw-ups, which can be massive in a position like this.

Kingfish said...

You left out the part about Greer cleaning up Hinds County government. No surprise you did that, though.

Kingfish said...

As for the attorney, really want the truth? They couldn't agree on anyone. A couple wanted to keep Mr. Espy. One bunch wanted Taggart. Gerald wasn't going to vote for that. And so on.

Anonymous said...

The state government crowd has ways to control things. Greer is their lackey. Also, if anyone has future political ambitions, they better play ball.

Greer was the man who was going to stick it to utility consumers being Bryant's and Barbour's man on the PSC. they funneled lots of money to him.

Maybe Katie really took the recent email from Butler Snow to heart and started looking for other options:

The blurb at the top of Katie Bryant's web bio actually says she is "learning more [about the law] every day."

So this should be a fun learning experience for her. And others.

Anonymous said...

12:00, she would not have received that e-mail. Her father is the governor. BS needs that influence.

Interesting that the Board of Supervisors is handing out political favors to Feel's daughter (with all of her 5 years of legal experience). Didn't the guv sign the "Sunshine Bill" limiting Jim Hood from doing the same thing. Guess Feel doesn't mind political favors (this time)...

To the dumbass who wants to know who is sitting in the president's seat, a motion was made and seconded and the vote resulted in Trey being president. No need for him to get up and move. As you might expect one particular supervisor voted NO on most every motion made by one of the new supervisors. To his dismay, all of those motions passed anyway. He, Griffin, really got his draws in a was over the firing of War-KNOCK and Espy. Griffin tried hard to preside as president, hogging the mic and correcting everybody on procedure. He is one angry man.

Katie Bryant is a terrible attorney. Butler Snow only hired her because of her daddy----even Butler Snow attorneys complain about how terrible she is.

Anonymous said...

Mike Espy is a great attorney. Katie Bryant- graduated last in her law school class at Ole Miss, or was it next to last?

Anonymous said...

folks, there is way more here than meets the eye. there is always a story behind the story.

Sometimes, only the names and faces change.

Anonymous said...

I can understand Espy being removed. It is what it is.

But to hire a complete novice? She has no clue...and nobody except a very seasoned veteran would possibly understand what to do in that position.

Butler Snow will be ghost writing lots of opinions for her I bet....I hope so for her sake.

Anonymous said...

I wish someone would take the time to figure out the total revenue Butler Snow takes in from the State and local governments, the rates they charge, what other firms would do that work for, etc. It seems we the taxpayers are subsidizing their "growth."

Sup. Trey Baxter tried to step to Sup. Griffin during disagreement with citizen. Sheriff had to step in.
Does Baxter have anger management issues?

Tony Greer sold out his constituents for a landfill developer. Half of Clinton hates him. Tony Greer is a hack.

Keep an eye for Katie's hubby, Steven Snell, and his fellow lobbyist business partner, Charles Porter, to come looking for Madison County graft.

Anonymous said...

No worries here folks. I'm sure Katie is going to quit her job as soon as she starts birthing babies so she can read to them and make them do well in school.

Phil wouldn't want his daughter being the problem with education in our state.

So glad Dan Gaillet can move back here. His son was severely injured in a car wreck a couple of years ago, and he had to move to the coast and take his son, who now suffers from brain trauma and needs 24 hour care. Gaillet had to leave after getting let go by Jackson. He's a good man.

2:33 PM you have not an inkling of what it is to be an attorney for a county.

You watched her talk about a contract? That's you "proof." Please, if this is her husband, find some other proof to ballyhoo.

When the newbie supervisors want to advance religion in local politics...watch her and see what she does. When the supes start ignoring her and move against her advice or lack of advice...watch her.

She is in way over her head.

You are a fool.

This is going to be comical.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps Baxter has future political ambitions and will need Feels help

Anonymous said...

@2:33.. yes, she did a good job reading the contract.. IT WAS HER NEW CONTRACT WITH THE COUNTY. she wrote it and rehearse it.. or maybe mama Shelia Jones helped her with it. come on. you can do better than that. don't leave out details that are important.. lol

Anonymous said...

Usually it takes several years for elected officials to become corrupt. these newly elected officials accomplished it in their first day with Phil's daughter and Greer with his history.

Kingfish said...

All your ranting about Greer is speculation. You can't seem to bring up his record as a Supervisor for some reason. Can't imagine why.

Who is the IN-HOUSE Engineer? Dan is road manager. If I'm not mistaken I think Blow hard Baxter tried to get John McKee, a consulting engineer, just like Warnock hired by contract to bill us by the hour (his rates are higher than Warnocks). Even these newly elected officials are crooked. Don't take long does it!! I want to see an In house engineer like promised. I'll hold Baxter and Sheila Accountable!!

Anonymous said...

In 2004 Mary brought in Tim Johnson, Andy Taggart and Doug Jones and look what they did. Now she clean swept Trey Baxter, Sheila Jones and David Bishop. It took the 2004 group a few years to become corrupt. It only took these clowns one board meeting. Baxter is hiring his buddies for the engineering and Sheila is hiring her adopted political daughter as the attorney. Let's all hope we get invited to the "retire the campaign debt party" hosted by the newly appointed engineer and lawyer. I bet we won't.

More back room deals. Faces change but the game is the same! Shame on ALL three of you newly elected supervisors..... I'll pray for each of you Sunday.

The CL confirmed that Katie is leaving BS to become the board attorney. Initially, I thought the earlier posters were naive in thinking that Madison County wouldn't be in good hands with Butler Snow backing Katie. Now, I think the Supervisors are naive in thinking that they're in good hands getting just Katie. Good luck with that...

Anonymous said...

Wonder how the circuit clerks office was today? Everyone seems to have forgotten that we got a new inexperienced circuit clerk. I understand she brought her sister in law in to work in the office with her.

Kingfish can we get a comparison on hourly charges of Warnock Vs Stantec? I think that would be enlightening. After all we do want conservative government don't we Sheila and Trey and Bishop?

Anonymous said...

Dear God, how hard up for an attorney could Madison County have been? Bryant is so far over her head in this position; to say nothing of her lack of experience and country as a butter bean! I don't have any idea who made this decision; but, whoever it was must owe Feel big-time! On second thought, maybe it was just Butler-Snow's way of getting rid of her!

Anonymous said...

Trey Baxter is an idiot. Now we know why he didn't talk much on the campaign trail.

Anonymous said...

I Attended law school at Ole Miss when Katie was there. She finished fairly low in the class rank and did not have any other impressive credentials other than being Phil's daughter. Many classmates finished in the top 15% of the class, law journal, moot court, etc. And could not get jobs due to the terrible market for attorneys several years ago. However she got hired by Butler Snow immediately. Now she gets a board attorney job that most 60 year old seasoned attorneys would feel unprepared for. See other post about her best friend Joey spongy being appointed as Phil's chief of staff. Lot of mediocre folks moving up in the ranks of power while the smart ones are out working hard paying off debts and trying to support their families and save for retirement. That's why government never works efficiently and fairly.

Espy was found not guilty....of any violation of any law. Period.

You are an abject moron who is so tainted by his hatred for other races/parties that you cannot see.

Espy was very effective....FOR the county. He had no agenda. He called it like he saw it.....like it or not.

Now you have someone with no experience, no backing, no knowledge, and no way to discern who is good from bad.

THis is a recipe for disaster.

Same old crooks with new faces. 1st, they lied to the voters of Madison County about hiring an in house engineer, 2nd they hire the biggest crook from Clinton, Mississippi Tony Greer as county administrator (hey have you seen the crappy houses he sells at this real estate company and what about the garbage dump the people didn't want he voted for). 3rd moving the time to 5pm for some meetings isn't helpful. 6pm would have been better. Hey Madison and Ridgeland have their alderman meeting at 6pm. I guess they don't want the public to see the back room deals going on. Like I said same old crooks with new faces.
The sad part about this is I voted for Trey Baxter.

It appears Espy, Warnock, and the fired Supes have been working overtime to spew their dung in the previous posts. Thank goodness they can hide behind being "anonymous".

Today was the beginning of a new era in Madison County politics. The incumbents who have screwed us taxpayers for decades have finally been thrown out.
As far as attorneys go, Katie is young but will do a better job than Espy and do it for a lot less money. Espy was paid $640,000 in 2015 for being a yes-man for the previous board.

Those of us that worked hard to liberate ourselves from Bank's mafia are confident that Trey & Company will do a good job. If they let us down, we will go after them just like we did the jerks (can you say John Howland?) that betrayed their constituents and ripped off us taxpayers before.

Ok-folks, do the math.
Katie Bryant + lackluster academic and professional career divided by new job as Madison County Board Attorney = Josh Gregory
Trey Baxter + expertise as a slum lord divided by his new role as puppet supervisor = Josh Gregory
Joey Songy + mediocre track record + friendship w Katie Bryant divided by his career trajectory to Feels chief of staff = Josh Gregory + Charles Porter ( Katie's husbands boss)
Albert Santa Cruz + his landlord divided by no bid contracts = Josh Gregory
Anyone notice a pattern?

@7:05 this is 6:00 again. You are correct in your observations that "it's not what you know, it's who you know." I am content with my job and station in life, but am concerned about my county when elected officials do not have the qualifications necessary to do a good job for their constituents. This is not a personal vendetta about Katie, but concern over her ability to advise the board. I will readily admit I have NO politics aspirations and would not swap places for any amount of money or fame. It is concerning when every position in government seems to be selected by some higher up politician, Phil or otherwise, or is left to some drooling idiot hired by the state.

Kingfish: Please allow me to school you on the matter of board attorney. 'One group' did NOT want Taggart. Taggart's name, as well as many others, was mentioned by one person, but there was no 'group' who wanted him, nor would Taggart have any interest in the job.

Secondly, Steen's vote was not needed and not necessary for the attorney motion to pass. So there was no need to even consider what he wanted or didn't want.

Third, none of the sitting Board, other than Paul Stokes Griffin 'wanted Espy to stay'.

Steen made the motion yesterday to get rid of all things Espy, all association with, contracts with, connections with and remnants of continuing inspections, etc.

As with a new coach, the Board, now having a majority of competent and honest people, needs an attorney they can trust and one who can work for the benefit of Madison County rather than personal gain and a corrupt engineer's Christmas bonus envelopes.

Meanwhile; Griffin is in for a long four years of being the lone dissenter and one who will really miss his miscreant cronies. If he stays, look for more immature outbursts and watch for him to throw a shoe. Maybe like Stokes, he will quit the Board and go somewhere where he thinks he can control things. Maybe he and Micah Gober can sell burial vaults.

Griffin was seated when he was addressing the citizen and then your BOY Trey "the Ray" Baxter stood up and yelled at Griffin from his side of the table. That's when Griffin stood up and yelled at him as well. And I will add that while he yelled, he LEANED in the direction as if he wanted a piece of Griffin. That's what I saw.. don't know what you saw. next time, get a front row seat…

As to the shouting match and Griffin calling a citizen 'BOY', Baxter rose, as president of the Board, to attempt to correct Griffin and control his stupid ass. I suppose you people think the board should all have just sat there like Steen, as if nothing was happening. A president of a board is responsible for order, among other things.

As to the claims (from the democrat community above) that Espy is a great lawyer, he may be. What the board needs, however, is an honest one. Lots of great lawyers in jail.

As to the claims that Mary is going to control this board, Mary is on the outside looking in, just like Griffin now....and you democrat people. You had your turn and turned the county treasury into a corrupt ATM machine. Take a seat.

Anonymous said...

Wish we could believe that the Queen is on the outside looking in, time will tell. This is the very reason Steen was reelected. Too much "team work" with the other folks running, too much us-vs-them. the problem was figuring out who "us" was and many in Ridgeland thought "us" included the Queen. Mary has her city and is doing what her citizens want, she needs to stay there and let our BOS do what is best for the entire county, not just Madison the City.

I am hoping that the things being said here are not true about our newly elected supervisors. If so we have only traded one big problem for another that will grow just as big or bigger.

Anonymous said...

A big part of the problem yesterday is a lack of communication between the Supervisors beforehand. Too many big egos, too many lies and too much holding cards under the table. The new ones have not learned how to work with the others. Bringing in an attorney that has little experience can really hurt the county. One classmate of hers said she majored in being the governors daughter and is not very bright. The Administrator is a former Hinds County Supervisor (politician) that is tight with the powers in state government because of his close ties to the Kemper County power plant fiasco. He also had some shady dealings on a garbage dump. Will he be moving to Madison County?

Anonymous said...

I see all this stuff about the new board attorney's Ole Miss days. So I looked at her bio.

Says she graduated cum laude. And on moot court. Can you graduate with honors and be last in class?

Also says she's represented other county boards in litigation, as well as some HUGE companies. and AV rated by M.H.

http://www.butlersnow.com/attorney/katie-snell/

So where's the truth?

A. Did Butler Snow fib on the bio on their website?
B. Was Johnny the law student laughed at one night while at the library? Prolly hit on her and got rejected and ridiculed?
C. Or is this a bunch of anti-Phil people pushing a bunch of BS?

Most of you cowards probably give the Gov and his daughter big hugs when you see them. Keep on keepin on, anonymous.

As for me... I wanted change and I got it. Let's see how things work out.

'Cleared of all charges'? Espy was never charged with anything. His acceptance of gifts from Tyson was outed and well publicized and he admitted it. And he was sent packing. He discredited himself and sullied the office almost immediately after being sworn in.

Bill Clinton was 'cleared' by the Senate but was, none-the-less, impeached. So, you people might claim that Clinton was 'cleared of all charges' too.

Espy's little political appointment in DC was rescinded when his colors were revealed. It just took a little longer in Madison County.

Terrible judgement. I'm done with both of you. Shiela, I'm ashamed of you specifically.

I'm really amazed by the ignorance of some of these posters - looking at you 5:57 AM. You lack even a basic knowledge of the subject area you're ranting about.

Espy's charges, trial - and acquittal - were well publicized. And your reference to "little political appointment" is baffling. The Ag. Secretary is probably one of the most consequential appointments for the State of Mississippi.

Also, regarding Clinton, his impeachment on formal charges was the equivalent of an indictment by a grand jury, except in his case, it was by the House of Representatives. The Senate voted against the articles of impeachment, which is the equivalent of an acquittal. Like it or not, Clinton was cleared of all charges by the Senate.

Cum Laude puts you in roughly the top third at Ole Miss Law, with Magna cutting off around the top 20 students, and only about 6-8 summa graduates. Top third is not "fairly low", it's really low by Butler Snow standards. There is no GPA requirement for Moot Court, but there is one for law journal. Butler Snow interviews only folks in the top 15 or so in their class, and basically requires that they be on law journal, which Katie was not. She got the job because her dad is Phil, point blank. She couldn't have even gotten a cup of coffee during an interview at Butler Snow otherwise. Plenty of folks with better resumes could not even get an interview.

The key to all this is Josh Gregory. He was Baxter's campaign manager and works for Phil Bryant. There is your connection. His daughter get hired and Tony Greer, who was asked by the Governor to run for PSC Commissioner to help Mississippi Power Company, get hired. See the connection now?

Civics 101 said...

8:47...Amazing display of procedural ignorance. Deciding NOT to act on articles of impeachment is simply politics, NOT clearing of all charges. He was convicted by the House. That will stand forever. Had he be 'cleared of all charges', which is not something the Senate has the authority to do, the impeachment would be wiped off the books. As it is, it stands forever and a day. Impeachment is not a 'decision to indict'. It is a conviction. Live with it.

Kingfish said...

All right. Quit re-fighting the 90's.

10:28, nearly everything you state is incorrect.

Clinton was impeached by the house. Once again, this means that formal charges are brought against him. Charges, not conviction. If you read the Constitution (Art. I, Sec. 3 & 4), you'd know that "no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members" of the Senate, which "shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments". This means that only the Senate has the power to convict of impeachment.

The Senate acted on the articles of impeachment against Clinton. They held a trial as set forth in the Constitution with the Chief Justice presiding. They held a vote on the articles of impeachment following that trial. 55 Senators voted against conviction on perjury and 50 Senators voted against conviction on obstruction of justice.

Once again, Clinton was charged by the House of Representatives, but not convicted by the Senate. The status of Clinton's impeachment charges is that same as if you were indicted but subsequently acquitted in a criminal trial.

10:28 is indicative of Trump supporter.

He knows that Clinton was guilty so it doesn't matter that he was not found guilty. Facts be damned....I will make up my own version so I can seem like I am correct in my anger.

"News" outlets report Muslims are herding into the states...some 10,000 in New Orleans just a few weeks ago. The fact that this is not true be damned. He was told it happened, it makes him angry, so he is going to continue to spew lies.

The ACTUAL TRUTH is that he is upset that Republicans win elections but abortion still happens, gay people get married, welfare still exists, Jesus is not sitting in the classrooms, government lies about economic indicators, Obama is a muslim, from Kenya, etc.

He is at a point of despair so deep in his life that he cannot bear to hear the truth. He has to make things up to vindicate his "side" of things. So make believe news of death and destruction fits his view and he runs with it...hence his arguing in the face of actual real facts and truth.

He is one breath away from a massive stroke....and he is probably a deacon at the First Baptist Church.

At 2:45....WOW! Talk about anger and feelings of political and social impotence. Sign up for the 'million bottle give away', hide the zits and get a date.

Mary Will Not Be On This Board said...

To the poster who suggested Ridgeland kept Steen on the board due to a fear that Mary would dictate to the board if Steen's opponent were elected.....that's a mighty odd suggestion. He won by a slim margin.

I'm not sure how Mary got into the discussion. I never saw, read or heard a word out of her about the election process or those running. I think what you suggest was based on chatter around Ridgeland city hall and neighborhood yack similar to that pertaining to Costco - Seeing booger bears where none exist.

There certainly was talk (and print) of a 'Clean Sweep' campaign, with thousands hoping to unseat corruption. Most of that worked and a new majority was seated. If a very small number had gone to the polls in your district, Steen would also have been unseated. All of you should have been unhappy with his 'no taxes raised' speech being reversed once he got elected. And with his support of insane ideas such as the lake and the airport study.

I agree with you that Mary needs to keep her nose out of Madison County politics unless her comments are related to governing the city of Madison. I don't think we have that to worry about. She might express her opinion but she will not dictate and she will not be successful if she tries arm-twisting. We had that with Rudy and Tim for years and we will not have that with Mary.

So the first day, three supes prove that they are some bought-out sumbitches. What was purchased with these appointments? Big risk to negate all their campaign promises right out of the gate, so something quite valuable appears to have been exchanged. Madison County taxpayers have bought something, and I'd like to know what it is.

Love all the Rudyites posting here. What the hell did y'all expect. These sups (and I include Steeen in with the group of three) did what was expected. They cleaned house of the employees of Banks and team (Howland/Griffin).

As to the individuals they named to the positions. Just because Katie is Phil's daughter doesn't mean you should attribute Phil's competence level to her. I guess it was finally debunked that she finished last in her class when someone came on with facts rather than b/s. As a full-time board attorney she should serve the county well. And when they get into specialized areas - as they will - she should (and I am sure will) bring in attorneys for those specialized areas.

Love the accusations about Greer! One of the best things to happen to Hinds County. When he and McQuirter went on the board and teamed with Calhoun, they kicked the corruption out of our boardroom. Should be a good omen for Madison, not bad. Poor old Lt. Graham had to change his lifestyle once Airwaves/Hargrove et.al. were kicked out. Only thing missing was a good audit of the millions in payments to those crooks.

And to say he was a crooked politician because he didn't agree with some of his constitutents -although obviously was in agreement with others - over the legality (not the desire) of a landfill expansion. If this was as described by the one commentator above on multiple posts you would think that everyone was against it except for Greer. Love the fact that you call him crooked but provide nothing but your opinion to back that up. Most laughable accusation about Greer though is that "Phil talked him into running for PSC". Obviously you know NOTHING about what you say. Even if it was true it wouldn't be anything bad about it, but its just factually not true.

Nobody has really criticized the Guilett hire, so guess it can pass. But just as the other two above IMHO it is another good move.

Complaints that the folks that were hired have political connections. What the hell do you expect in a political environment and a political position?

I'm just happy to finally have a board room that is filled with folks (excluding Griffin) that are honest, qualified and well meaning. I include Steen in that group, but would have included his opponent if she had won as well. We all ought to be celebrating that Banks, Howland and John Bell are gone. Along with them #1 is Rudy. Glad Espy is gone as well, but Rudy and Tim being out of control is the key.

So, playing devil's advocate here let's go along with the nay-sayers for a second. On the slim chance that Phil directed all of the hiring and firing at the board meeting, ask yourself this question:

Would you rather have ten new people recommended by the governor or ten old people who have been shafting the county, without vaseline, for the past fifteen years?

If Mrs Howland, Banks, Rudy and a few laid-off engineers' wives would stop posting bullshit on this thread, it would all work out just fine.

Does anyone know what Griffin does for a living, if anything, outside of being on BOS? I saw him wearing a security guard uniform at the hospital in Canton a while back.....What we can say is the other four supervisors have businesses and can make a living for themselves with out the BOS......just curious what Griffin did before being a supe.

His full time job is being a security guard at the public high school.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
