Update: Hightower is no longer associated with JPD.
Ridgeland police arrested JPD Deputy Chief Brady Hightower for simple domestic violence last night. Police sources said his girlfriend filed the charges. He posted a $5,000 bond and goes to court on February 9.

It will be interesting to see if she follows through with the charges.
What's up with public officials and their relatives in Madison County. First the new Circuit clerk's husband whups up on her two weeks and gets tossed in the slammer, now this. We need to throw bottles and bricks at deze peepul.
She has no say so. That charge can be prosecuted by the police without her consent. Supposedly there is video as it allegedly occurred in the parking lot.
If convicted he will lose his ability as a LEO to carry a firearm. They will have no choice but to terminate employment.
If this officer is convicted, he will be barred from possession of firearms under the Lautenberg Amendment. Lautenberg is different from other gun control acts in that there is NO exemption for public safety or armed forces. No carry, no way no how.
Time to find a new career.
Comments turned on for this blog entry, but none for the January 4 post about Madison County circuit court clerk's husband being arrested for the same thing. There's that culture again!
1:36.......he's also been the Director of Security for the local McDonald's Corp for years........can you say "two full time jobs"?????
I had a case a few years back when this officer, off duty, beat a clerk at the Walmart for not having a money deposit ready for him- I am truly lmao because this sounds so much like him- I hope he never carries a gun or badge again-
"Time to find a new career."
He can assist Lt. Graham!
Was he living in Ridgeland?? This surely violates the residency requirements if so....no telling how many others blatantly disregard this rule.
Lautenberg Amendment doesn't apply to MS domestic violence statute.
I had a dealing with Hightower when he was a Sgt. and my business had been burglarized in his precinct. He was a total jerk and would not do a damn thing. Good riddance to him!
Just another example of what it takes to become a law enforcement officer in Jackson.
