LSU student and Reveille* columnist Clarke Perkins freaked out on Twitter yesterday as she mistook a guy wire hanging over a branch for a noose. Yup. You can't make this up. She tweeted yesterday morning:
The Klan is coming back. Night riders are going to gallop through the Quad at midnight. The 1850's are here. Hoop skirts are in. Um, not so fast, my friend. Here are the pictures of the "noose":
THERE IS A NOOSE HANGING FROM A TREE AT LSU BY COATES. I shouldn't have to see this walking to class. WOW.
That's it. The "noose" is the end of a guy wire that was uprooted when a heavy branch fell down on the wire. She probably thinks Eight-ball was invented by the Klan as well. LSU sent out an email to all students about the "noose":
Earlier today, LSU was notified of the potential that an extremely offensive symbol had been found on campus.
Though this proved not to be the case, we want to emphasize that racial intolerance will never be permitted on our campus."
The student deleted her tweet. However, she at first refused to take it down even when the NAACP told her it was not a noose. She said she would wait until she got confirmation it was not a noose. Again, you can't make this up. She cranked out these tweets all day long. Nothing like a drama queen on a mission for social justice.
@lsu has confirmed it is NOT a noose. Just a coincidence - as far as we know, there is NO noose on campus.
This morning, I was walking across campus and saw what I thought was a noose hanging from a tree. So I shared my concerns.
Not a professionally made noose - I believed it to be a makeshift one created as an offensive joke.
I was wrong, it was a wire that fell. But if black students were more accepted here, I wouldn't have thought a noose
Considering what is currently happening in this country, someone hanging a noose certainly seems plausible.#IStandWithMizzou
Black students all over are being threatened for speaking out. I've previously been threatened for talking about race at LSU.
So this didn't surprise me. Which should tell you something about how students on this campus feel.
Again, I was wrong - but, a wire falling out of a tree is less likely than my presence being threatened, tbh
Oh, one last thing. Her whining about racism? Check out this 2013 tweet:
She removed this one as well when she was called out on it yesterday. As stated earlier, you can't make this up.
*The Reveille is the student newspaper.

I feel for her. How could you possibly feel safe in a place where people are free to disagree with you? In a place that only has 8-10 different fully funded centers to promote the success of people in your demographic group? In a place that only hires a dozen people for the express purpose of recruiting people from your specific demographic group? It's basically the Holocaust all over again.
I stand with the Million Student Marchers: American universities are hellish cesspools of racism that everyone should be able to attend for free!
"I was wrong, it was a wire that fell. But if black students were more accepted here, I wouldn't have thought a noose"
No. If you weren't stupid, you wouldn't have thought it was a noose. Perhaps it's better to feel persecuted than to feel stupid? Because you can blame somebody else?
If black people were treated better she wouldn't think it was a noose.
What a retard.
The pot has been stirred into a vortex perpetuating itself. If "hurtful speech", as Mizzou calls it, is punishable on college campuses, then errant tweets meant to incite the continuous bemoaning of made-up oppression should be punishable, also.
These kids protesting racism, tuition, fairness, whatever, etc., on college campuses have a long rough road ahead of them if they think they have it bad, or whatever it is that they think. This may be the culmination of the "Wussification" of America. I think I would have placed some students on probation, suspended some football players for breaking team rules, given the test w/ no make up to be offered, and told some faculty to pack up their desk their services are no longer needed.....what have we allowed to happen to this country!
By screaming racism at every breath, blacks are creating a larger divide than they can imagine. I suspect that the "Toys for Tots" program will be the least successful in years. Everyone is just tired of the race card being played over-and-over.
College has become what it has become because students have no skin in the game. They get grants and borrow on government guaranteed loans with generous forgiveness terms to pursue worthless degrees, or worse, to pursue degrees they aren't qualified to finish. They keep asking and we keep giving.
It's not a Hangman's Noose it a nautical knot called The Jack Ketch knot. It is equivalent to the simple slip knot in this case which has one coil the Jack Ketch knot has 6-8 coils. Blacks and the liberal news media create LABELS & jump all over crap like this to prompt their cause which is to seek attention & domination of all other races. Wait till ISIS (Islamic State) takes over the US. Women will be forced to be subservant to men, wear berkas, Nn school, nd get beaten every day when they displeases their MAN. OH glorious day. SIR LACKA LAKEM!(Peace be with You)
I agree with all the comments here! But, KF, the title should be Racist Drama Queen of the day. She's the racist. How can an ignorant B---- who is OBVIOUSLY the one with the problem & chip on her shoulder stir up so much shit without any consequences? That's what is wrong with our society-people are allowed to do this & there are NO consequences. Just like the person said before-she'd rather be persecuted than called stupid. She's stupid & just showed the world. Meanwhile in the racist world she's living in, her life goes on as usual & she enjoys the attention. Smh (and that means shaking my head at her stupid ass).
Stuff like this doesn't help out your "treatment," lady... It just makes you a mockery.
Yes, yes, yes. All the liberals and "progressives" who populate 90% of the teaching and administrative ranks at colleges and universities must be driven out.
#TheyEATTheirOwn
Am I the only one who can't see the pictures?
Wow. What a idiot.
10:30AM is correct. Behavior like she and other displayed this week hurts their cause.
Many universities have become breeding grounds for narrow-minded activism instead of fostering growth of one's perspective. A direct benefit of college is to introduce young adults to different types of people from all walks of life with conflicting beliefs, opinions, preferences and priorities. This benefit ceases to exist when each individual student expects others to subdue, or in some cases even relinquish, their own belief systems.
She didn't play the race card, she played the race deck! I'm familiar with those who "philosophize disgrace" by arguing that Medgar and Martin died so that a low-grade moron like Clarke can have the equal opportunity to embarrass herself trying to make whitey squirm, but I've got to believe they are weeping in Heaven to see such nonsense going on back here.
O tempora, o mores!
Special thanks to JFK and Lyndon Johnson for this entertainment.
An uprooted guide-wire is mistaken for a noose ?
What an idiotic "tweet".
SMH
We need more like her.
She's probably too slow to realize that she's contributed more toward the national "blow back" against the fake "Black Lives Matter" lie than KKK ever could.
I hope this goofy "my safe space" crowd continues to make headlines.
To quote Shirley Q Liquor . . .
That's just ig'nant.
"Not a professionally made noose -"
Pray tell, ma'am - where can one find a "professional" who makes nooses? None are listed in my Yellow Pages.
BTW - what's her major and her GPA? How dumb can you be and still have LSU admit you (please list both the black and the white qualification stats - somehow I suspect they are different)
I know of the perfect "safe space" for this budding socialist, black labs matter new-comer: PARIS!!! Oui Oui
10:08, Louisiana, like Mississippi, may have dropped ALL standards for admission to its state universities. Last time I checked, Mississippi had done away with them, because they were discriminatory. Any standards at all, and you still will have a 'Disparate Impact' situation arise. Can't have THAT. You could get sued. Standards are just another something we can't have in the Deep South, anymore.
"I was wrong, it was a wire that fell. But if black students were more accepted here, I wouldn’t have thought a noose."
Dear Clarke Perkins: Fuck you, you goofy little racist bitch.
I went to LSU for undergrad: 1996-2000. Unless you want to make the argument that the campus has become significantly MORE racist in the last 15 years, then there is no problem with black students being "accepted". If anything, then like most universities these days, the situation is quite the opposite. Let me give you a couple personal anecdotes...
My girlfriend at the time was a journalism major (she wised up and got over it) and was dismayed at the fact that there was a black student journalist club, an asian student journalist club, and woman's student journalist club, but nothing at all for the white guys. So, as a goof, she printed up a flier which copied exactly the text from a flyer for the black student journalist club - but with the word "white" instead. She put her own phone number on it, just to see what would happen.
Guess what happened, you little airhead? She got hate-mail-type phone calls for TWO MONTHS. All hours of the day and night; she had to turn the ringer off just to get any sleep. Accusations of racism, cussing out, even death threats. Again: for two months, even though the flyer was only up for 1 day.
What race is it that isn't accepted again?
Here's another - I needed 3 credits in humanities, which had nothing at all to do with my major in the hard sciences, but it was required anyway. I chose Professional Ethics, thinking I might actually get something out of it. I was wrong about that, but one day in class, the professor started gushing about how great it was that our classroom was so "diverse": we had several races present, not just white kids.
Because, ya know, blacks just aren't accepted there.
The interesting part was, the black dude he pointed at during his speech was my roommate, so I knew him pretty well. We looked at each other and started to laugh. The prof asked what was funny, and my roommate told him that he had been born in Baton Rouge, lived there his whole life, was going to college there, and had only even left Louisiana ONCE in his entire life, on a week's vacation to Disneyworld. So the question was, how exactly does he contribute more to the diversity of the class than I did...seeing I was born in Texas, raised in Alaska, went to high school in New Orleans, and had just gotten back from having lived in Germany for four years.
My favorite line, which I will never forget, was: "You think my black skin makes me fucking magic, or some shit?"
What race is it that isn't accepted again?
I could go on, but I'll close with this. If you think I'm going to stop eating at Popeye's, you can go fuck yourself.
