The Madison Police Department issued the following press release:
On
October 21, 2014 at approximately 09:30am, officers of the Madison Police
Department responded to Madison Central High School located at 1417 Highland
Colony Parkway. An office worker at the
school received a phone call from an individual concerning a possible explosive
device at the school. This was the
second phone call concerning an explosive device that the school had received
within a week. The school officials
proceeded with their normal protocol and the school was evacuated without
incident. The students were moved to a
safe location while officers on the scene began the investigation into the
origin of the phone call. The Clinton
Police Department responded to the scene and the school was cleared with the
aid of K9s from their department. The
Federal Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene and assisted with the
investigation. At 11:31am the search of the school was completed and the
students were allowed to return to class. Investigators were able to determine
that the phone call originated from the campus of Madison Central and a 17 year
old student was taken into custody for False Reporting of an Explosive
Device. The case will be forwarded to
the Madison County Youth Court and the individual is cooperating with Federal
and local authorities. The first bomb threat received on October 17th 2014
remains under investigation and the investigating authorities are working to
determine if there is a link between the two incidents.

Why Clinton police and not Madison? As per report.
Little Timmy learns a valuable lesson in civics/criminal law....
In the metro area, Clinton Police and Jackson Police have bomb squads so they would be responding to assist the search of the building. Great partnership between agencies and departments to make a safer area. Both bomb squads respond all across the state.
10:12 AM Clinton and JPD are the only dept. in Central Mississippi with a bomb squad.. They respond between Highway 82 to the north and Highway 84 to the south...
This is supposed to be a federal offense. Can he (she) be tried as an adult? What are the probable
charges and consequences?
Another instance where the youth of America are very short-sighted. This is why our Country is in the condition it is in because we have taken religion out of everything. Religion and morals would teach you that there are consequences to your actions. This young person was not taught or failed to learn this early enough. He should pay the full price as an adult. Not slaps on the wrist.
funny the kid who called in the bomb threat is son of a preacher in Flora, Mississippi.
And both times the threat was called in on "B" days…sounds likes there is a specific class or test he is trying to avoid.
When I was a Callaway High School in the early 1970's, a guy named Mitch Weber (maybe 2 b's, don't remember) would call in bomb threats from the pay phone directly across from the school office. Mitch went on to be institutionalized at Whitfield, from which he once managed to escape and terrorized NE Jackson for a while. Maybe this young person has a similar future in front of "him".
My son says the word at school is that the kid was trying to get out of taking a test that was postponed because of the bomb threat last Friday.
Regarding the criminal Mitch. Been looking for news reports forever about his violent crimes. Is this a cover up thing? Anyone know what he did in terms of terrorizing Jackson Folks.
