Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Trollfest '07
Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

So he comes to Jackson Academy, tells us to hire residents of Jackson (most of which can't pass a drug test) and to hire minority contractors (most of which are unqualified.) Then he want's the people from Northeast Jackson to go to West Jackson and clean up the trashy streets over there (I presume so the new employee's can mug them.)
It's all about minorities with this bigot. Not one word about what can be done to bring back the educated, ethical individuals that actually have the money needed to support an area.
And then he goes on to talk about his Comprehensive plan (Kush?). Let's bring back the metro center and put community colleges in there!!! Hope those security guards get paid a lot of money, and pack some serious heat.
Jackson electing this fool is no different than Brandon electing a Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.

What 11:47? You aren't mollified by some pretty plantings along the frontage road?
To paraphrase Mr. Speed... those who want to leave jackson are gone. (don't let the door hit you ....)
Thank you so much for posting this. It was not at all what I was expecting. It was a shockingly pleasant surprise.
My family's school, home, church and business are all in Jackson. I'll ante up Mayor... what the hell .... I'm already "all in" anyway.
'Those who want to leave jackson are gone.'
This might be the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard. Those that want to leave Jackson now can't because they can't sell their worthless houses.
He said the economics and the education have to be functioning for a community to thrive. Cosmetically reproducing an urban or learning environment will not get us there. I heard him say organized community effort is key to social progress. Hiring the local, capable youth to rebuild Jackson is what will get us started. The Socrates Leland Garretts, Hemphills, Waggoners, and other contractors have to take this challenge.
Leigh, I think it's more accurate, and honest, to say that those who CAN leave Jackson have. Those that cannot sell their homes, or pay two mortgages, are still here along with those like you.
Hemphill is not a Jackson company.
"Those that want to leave Jackson now can't because they can't sell their worthless houses. "
Bingo.
At time's I couldn't decide whether I was listening to the mayor or a recital of Rudyard Kipling's "White Man's Burden."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Man's_Burden
If anyone else viewed African Americans as this helpless and incapable they would (rightly) be called a racist. . . . Or hired as editor of the Jackson Free Press.
i was hoping you'd record and post this...just wish they'd buy my house!
Oh, 12:47 and 1:44. Your unjustified pretension has changed my mind. I'll be putting my "worthless" home on the market so I can join you in your McMansion infested former cow pasture, where no one knows their next door neighbors from Adam. There's a reason I left Madison to move to Jackson. You're simply too dense to realize your own misery.
I know everyone on my street in Madison. We hang out in our front yard with the neighbors frequently actually. But you are correct, if Madison residents had to work as hard to maintain a neighborhood watch as you do, we would likely know people beyond our street as well.
2:36 Our block in Madison is carving pumpkins together tonight in the cul de sac, waether permitting.
Those three kids who got shot last ngiht in a drive-by shooting in Jackson - how are they doing? I don't worry about stuff like that in Madison - is that "pretentious"?
2:06
Every square inch of Jackson was a cow pasture, cotton field or swamp before it became the teeming metropolis that it now is. Dumbass. Your fully displayed assholedness is quite entertaining.
And by the way, the quote is "doesn't know (x) from Adam's off ox". Talk about too dense to realize your own misery. That would be you, Nancy.
Ouch...that was so painful to watch. Poor guys...that was like a Stockholder meeting for "Worldcom" just before they went under...We are doing great..stocks are up!! hahaha NE Jxn residents are running out of ways to hold pep rallies for any type of progress....Truly sad!! Yes I live in Rankin County but have numerous friends across the river and they are scared too....
I live in Jackson. Two houses on my cul de sac have sold in recent weeks, and another is about to. They got good prices, too. Stereotyping either Jackson or Madison does no good.
I was at the meeting. The Mayor was obviously not interested in being there. He didn't appear to be very prepared and he rambled a good bit.
I am so sick of hearing about minority contractors. If a minority contractor has the experience and the financial wherewithall and good references, then I say a minority contractor should have a fair shot. Would you hire a homebuilder to build your home without the above qualities? If the City awards a contract to a minority without the above qualities, the City is not being a good steward of the taxpayers' money, but what else is new?
On another note, I thought the Police Chief and the Sheriff spoke well and seemed to be very interested in being there.
3:12: My Jackson neighborhood is doing the same thing. Last weekend, we had a block party with a cookout and a band. No one worried because we have a safe neighborhood. Your troll-like assumption that such a thing could not possibly exist in Jackson is not pretentious. It's hubris. I'll end right there, lest I be accused of feeding the trolls.
"Noone worried because we have a safe neighborhood."
Oh please do tell!! Safe like Country Club of Jackson safe (I'm just kidding because we all know they'll tie you up in the bathroom and threaten you with gunshots and threaten to kill your spouse), or safe like Eastover safe (again I'm kidding because they'll shoot you AND your dog.) Or maybe you mean Fondren safe (again, kidding, an acquaintance of mine was shot at there a couple months ago).
People . . . It's really sad that you're firing so much hate and anger. The JA meeting was a great start with City and County officials coming together with citizens. Many Jackson business people have been extremely pleased with their meetings and follow-up that they have had with the Mayor and his staff. I grew up in Madison County and now live and work in Jackson. We are realistic about conditions here but committed to helping to improve them. What do you suggest? That we do nothing? That we sit on the sidelines and watch as it continues to get worse?? Don't you realize that if a capitol city is not strong, the suburbs will crumble as well?
The mayor came and spoke at a neighborhood association of ours a while back. He was surprisingly good and said a lot of good things and acted like he wanted to be there. But at the JA meeting, he gave a canned speech. He didn't cater at all to the audience or their concerns. Rather disappointing. The Sheriff and Chief did do well.
As the President said, "if you want something different, go win an election."
4:16
Nobody is "firing so much hate and anger". They're just stating the obvious and refusing to let people like you spread your crap without calling you out. And we are all tired of your oft repeated "if a capitol city is not strong, the suburbs will crumble as well". Learn a new line, Junior.
The JA meeting was a great start with City and County officials coming together with citizens.
Great start to what?
Don't you realize that if a capitol city is not strong, the suburbs will crumble as well?
That is a fallacy.
Boy, it sho does seem different with the black man in charge and a black majority. This is the black man's black man. What? He is trying to work with white people? He is not putting them in jail for sitting at the black lunch counters? What? Kush? What? The sky is falling!
Did I miss it or did Chockwe forget to mention the professional bass fisherman killed earlier this month? Will he ever address crime in Jackson and his responsibility for doing something about it? Or will he simply continue to molly-coddle the tribesmen and push the notion of it all being the fault of the white man?
4:15, you left out some neighborhoods... Like Madison safe? (Did they ever find who was committing all those robberies in Reunion, or have they conclusively ruled out suicide in Abigail Bonner's death?), like ridgeland safe (party city)? Like flowood safe? (man shot in the face on that side of the Rez a couple of weeks ago)
I actually would agree with you if you said tht these places were safe and really nice places. Just like I would agree that eastover, the Jackson country club, and fondren are safe and nice.
As a Jackson resident, I am well aware of my city's problems. I am also aware that our crime rate is higher than yours. Thanks. But no need for you to "educate" me. Atleast I acknowledge my city's problems, which makes it very easy for you to judge people like you who think that your suburb is somehow perfect.
And by the way, despite what some tea party members posted above, most of us could leave IF we wanted to. No desire to cross the pearl or county line road. You live a nice life where you live, and I will live a nice life where I live.
4:15 is another big city wanna be that thinks he is hot shit because his cougar wife has had a boob job for the second time and they think she is hot. He left or never entered the CITY because his racial, rural ass can't take people that don't think or look like he does. That is why he goes to Pine Lake even on Wednesdays.
I love these "never go anywhere but where I am comfortable" little meaningless people.
I live in Fondren. It is not safe.
If people think there is no crime in Madison or Rankin, please visit the county courthouse on any given day or look on the sex offender registry. It just might shock you. Just because the news stations won't report it doesn't mean it doesn't happen in your area. Some of you seem to have the same false sense of security that I used to have.
Fact...142 houses have sold in the 39211 (last 5 months) zip code...An average of 28 a month...maybe that poster need to find a better realtor or lives where no one wants to be in Jackson.
Let's play a little game. The same JFP harpie posted several times above. My guess is seven times. What's yours?
What is a harpie?
I used to live in Jackson. Then I decided it was time to have children and knowing how deplorable JPS was/is and knowing that I simply could not afford to put my children in private school, I chose to "jump the line" and live in Ridgeland.
The Jackson Public School System is deplorable. A recent news story regarding Lanier High only emphasized that. They have no band and they lack parental involvement. The news story mentioned that there were only abut 10 supporters there for the Germantown game. When Ridgeland played them (in Jackson), there were only a handful of people there. The band director position has been vacant since 5/30/2013 yet they did not post the job vacancy (as a music teacher - not band director) until the middle of July AND the posting for a band director has just been posted on the JPS site as of 10/29/2013. Interesting that the news story abut this ran on 10/28/2013.
There are 28 positions available high school teachers, 36 for elementray school teachers and 37 avalable for middle school. There are also an additional 22 SPED teacher positions available.
http://www.applitrack.com/jackson/onlineapp/
If you cannot attract the teachers, how can you teach the students? And you cannot attract the teachers to a crime ridden city where local law enforcement fails to perform.
Yes there is crime in Ridgeland. I'd like for anyone to find a town with the same demographics that doesn't have crime. The fact is, when crime does occur in Ridgeland or Madison, we have competent mayors who have made sure that the police department is staffed and trained appropriately to deal with the crime.
For economic development and stable home prices, the two most important positions in a community are the head of public safety (police chief and/or sheriff) and the head of public schools. You have to have safety and good public schools to attract and maintain your economic base. This is not to say that the mayor, and ultimately informed voters, are
paramount as the starting point, but people have to feel safe first and they and have to have an excellent education system. The mayor appoints the Chief of Police and the voters elect the Sheriff. The School Board recommends the Supt. of Public Schools to the Mayor and City Council. For too long, our children have not been lead by the most qualified administrators.
Amen, 2:19 pm
To October 31, 4:58 and 9:16 - you're either the same person or cut from the same cloth. What an ignorant, rude SOB you are. People can disagree, get angry even, but the stuff you spew is baseless, pointless and full of hate. I hope for the sake of those who know you in person that you are just a coward who does this while hiding anonamously here. Grow up...
Oct. 31 @ 9:16? Don't see it.
I suspect he meant 9:46, not 9:16.
Yes, thank you, 2:17. I did intend 10/31 at 9:46 as well as 4:58. I do hope those posts are from the same person. Hate to think there are 2 of them.
