Catch & Release: Cornbread Lepard

JPD arrested Corey Lepard Saturday for allegedly stabbing a 73 year old man to death for his motorcycle on May 26.   Predictably, Lepard was out on the streets after being convicted of arson and aggravated assault waaaaay back in 2019.

A Hinds County grand jury indicted Lepard in 2017 for aggravated assault after he split a man's head open with a piece of wood in 2016.  Lepard pleaded guilty in 2019.  Circuit Judge Adrienne Wooten sentenced him to serve ten years in prison but suspended five years of the sentence.  She placed him on probation for five years as well.

The firebug garnered more indictments in 2019.  Firebug, you ask?  The Clarion-Ledger reported on June 10, 2016:

Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason said a collaborative effort helped lead to the arrest of three people accused of arson and grand larceny.

According to Mason, Corey "Cornbread" Dwayne Lepard broke into a Hinds County Emergency Management facility on North McRaven Road Monday and stole thousands of dollars worth of county equipment before setting the building on fire, destroying three trailers and badly damaging two.

The destroyed property cost approximately $500,000, Hinds County Emergency Management Director Ricky Moore said.

Moore said Lepard accessed the trailers through a hole in the perimeter fencing. Article

Well, this being Hinds County, the grand jury only indicted him for two counts of arson.  Lepard torched a home on Hampton Street as well.  Circuit Judge Winston Kidd kidded around and sentenced him to serve ten years in prison but suspended five years of the sentence on August 31, 2020.

JPD said it caught Lepard after he allegedly took the stolen motorcycle to a repair shop and said he had to kill for it.

Kingfish note: Why was he out of prison? He apparently got credit for time served.  MDOC released him in December 2020.

Robinhood trailer trash with outlaw tats. Serious mental health issues. Hinds county judges refues to keep the area safe.

People, when you see sub humans like this, stay away from them. They are very very very mentally unstable. Those kind of tats closely resemble what the Simon City Royals wear and those are some white trash sum beaches. We know his parents failed him and now we as the public are left with the cost of him living off of us. It’s really too bad he wasn’t riding that stolen motorcycle on 220 and got hit by an out of control speeding car.

"A California district attorney has found that more than 70% of criminal suspects released on $0 bail between 2020 and 2021 in his county committed new crimes."

I read this early this AM. I wouldn't doubt that it's higher in Jackson.

If you think Cornbread looks bad, you shoulda seen Cornpop back in Delaware!

Give people with tats like that a wide berth. Can you say crazy?

Cornbread was tired of scratching for a living in the real world.
He needed to do a crime that would put him back in an air-conditioned jail cell with 3 squares a day, Netflix @ women sending him their panties in the mail. Good life. Right.

"Sentenced to 10 with 5 suspended" seems to be a trend. What's up with that? Really.

Agree with 10:58 & 11:23.

Don't wanna get gutted and shredded by an axe or chainsaw?

Face &/or neck &/or sleeve &/or tats extending onto hands &/or gang tats might fit a Charlie Manson psychotic profile searching for Helter Skelter victims to star in their satanic celebrity.

I consider anyone with any visible tattoos to be mentally ill and dangerous. It shows they have very poor judgment at least. War veterans deserve a pass even though many are also killers by definition.

Anyone that turns their skin into a comic book is an idiot.

There are lots of different types of tats (all trashy, in my opinion), but when someone has face tats, you can be certain they're a criminal. They may have BEEN a criminal, but it's much more likely they ARE a criminal. Like some posters said above, it's wise to stay away from them or you may be the reason they go back to jail.....because they ARE going to go back to jail at some point.

My NES is older than this scumbag.
Definitely worth more too!

my grandfather used to say "why would you permanently put something on your body that you would not temporarily hang in your house?"

Probably kin to the Attala county Lepards. Bad bunch. Read “Crooked Snake” by Lovejoy Boteler (yes, that’s his real name) and you’ll understand my comment. Albert Lepard escaped from Parchman about ten times.

@6:11pm - Judge Green of course, for retiring.

Judge Adrienne Wooten sentenced him to serve ten years in prison but suspended five years of the sentence. She placed him on probation for five years as well.

I'm no mathematician, but 5 years probation plus 5 years probation sounds like "turn him loose!" to me.

And now an elderly man has been stabbed to death because of this, thanks to Judge Wooten. I hope DAVID F. LINZEY defeats her in the next election.

Hinds County (or more accurately, it's citizens) can't survive this kind of judicial permissiveness, where violent criminals are caught -- only to be turned loose -- over and over. It's demoralizing to police, and devastating to innocent victims and their families.

On a lighter note, I wonder if the perp pissed off his tattoo artist. A permanent unibrow? Really??

Until these criminals reach/touch the families of the Hinds County Judges and their beloved friends/associates. They will continue to release these animals back into the county!

When are the Hinds County Judges going to protect the citizens of Hinds County? Answer - No time soon!

9:56 - Remember the story a few months back about the two new JPD recruits/employees caught smoking weed at the Flowood park?

Noticing tats in the recruiting process is as valuable as 'Speaks Spanish'.

When you are a 5’5” manlet with a gun, and the steroids still aren’t making you intimidating enough, you get some gnarly tats and maybe also higher lifts in your tactical combat boots.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
