Street Justice?

A man shot Antonyo Esco to death at the Village Apartments Sunday night.   Esco was selling a gun to the suspect.  The suspect took the gun and killed him in true Terminator fashion.

JPD has not made an arrest in the case.

Esco? Where have we heard that name before?

Oh yes, JPD arrested Esco in February for possession of crack cocaine, armed carjacking, and of course, capital murder.  JJ reported on February 13:

JPD arrested a trio of teens for capital murder and carjacking as well last week. Jackson Municipal Court Judge Jeff Reynolds denied bond for Trevyon Esco, Antonyo Esco, and Bartholamew Ferral (appropriately named) Bell for the capital murder charges and set bond at $1 million for the carjacking charges.  Law enforcement sources said they are suspects in numerous Belhaven carjackings.  The suspects are 17, 16, and 18 years old.

Jackson Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Reynolds denied bond on the capital murder charge and set bond at $1 million on the carjacking charge.

However, Hinds County Court Judge Johnny McDaniels remanded the capital murder and carjacking charges back to municipal court but allowed the crack cocaine charge to stand on a $25,000 bond.

Esco posted bond and back on the streets until he met his untimely but predictable death Sunday.

Stricter gun control laws would have prevented this killin’!

He was a good boy. Selling the gun to have money for church offering-where he was headed. Don't know why people thought bad of him.

If only all the Hinds problems would self-resolve so easily.

Hey Jody, once less case to slow roll into oblivion.

I hope people take note that it was Hinds County Court Judge Johnny McDaniels who reduced the initial bond set by Judge Reynolds, which then paved the way for Esco to be released. The public needs to know who the judges are who are allowing this non-sense. Here, the problem was McDaniels, as it is reported to often be.

Why is it that today’s problems in Jackson result from past solutions? Who would’ve thought that letting criminals out in the streets would cause criminal behavior to flourish in the streets?

Society wins and a burden to the taxpayer is no more.

Selling a LOADED firearm is not real bright. No mention if the gun had been stolen, but likely.

@10:26 AM is likely trolling, but if not, let me help you: it is already A CRIME TO SHOOT/KILL someone.

Guess we'll never get the cure for cancer now.

Capital murder sentence carried out. Next case.

Another soft-on-crime judge, bent on completely destroying our communities by refusing to detain accused murderers.

Are they getting paid by the gang bangers? Are they scared of retaliation? Or do they truly just not give a shit about anyone except the perps?

We need better judges in Hinds County!!

So sick of hearing about crimes committed by people who shouldn’t have been out in society in the first place!

Please stop the gun shows. The gun show loophole caused this.

Wait, this Judge Johnnie McDaniels?
New Judge Who Wants to ReThink Hinds County Juvenile Justice System

What an awesome slate of newly elected judges that turned out to be!

@11:10

@10:26 was kidding. You didn't get the joke. Good grief . . .

Interpersonal, right?

What does it mean to remand the capital murder and carjacking charges back to Municipal Court ? Does that mean they are dismissed or that those charges will be tried in Municipal Court ? If that means they were dismissed, does anyone know why Judge McDaniels dismissed them ?

Judge Johnny McDaniels,” This Young Mans Blood is On Your Hands”. He could have been waiting in an unlocked cell in the Hinds County Detention Center talking on his cell phone smoking that good weed!

You owe this man’s family an apology. Maybe you can help pay for his funeral!

To 10:26 and 11:47. I hope you were joking. If not, do you really think a new gun law would prevent a shooting by a criminal? They are criminals because they DO NOT OBEY THE LAW. Think they would obey new gun laws?

"What does it mean to remand the capital murder and carjacking charges back to Municipal Court ?" It means that it is to be dealt with as a misdemeanor. Murder is reduced to Simple Assault w a weapon and carjacking is Trespass less than Larceny, which by itself is still a Felony. I'm sure it will fall under Jackson Statute, lets make this shit up as we go along.

Armed carjacking and capital murder are grown-up crimes. Judge McDaniels, this guy was no longer a child for you to counsel and rehabilitate.

Anyone who thinks Judge McDaniel is soft on crime doesn’t practice law in front of him. He is absolutely biased in favor of the prosecution in 100% of the cases. If he sent some cases back to JPD it had to be because they screwed up so bad he couldn’t cover for them… like he usually does. You want tough on crime to the point he violates the law… Keep voting McDaniel in.

he never had a shot for a real life. it's sad but there's bound to be more this year..

some of y'all wouldn't know sarcasm even if it was close enough to give you monkeypox.

Y’all keep thinking the gun was stolen. He was probably making them ghost guns with his 3D printer and/or using 80% lowers sold in “buy, build, shoot” kits from online retailers. According to the left, ghost guns are the #1 threat, after climate change and misgendering transvestites.

I like Jeff.

He can be a pain in the a-- when you have a case against him.

But you know what? He did the right thing here and someone else screwed it up.

He's gotten tougher over the last couple of years.

You are really giving this POS credit and ability to do what you outlined, but then again as another poster stated, Now we won't get a cure for cancer.

KF you really got to get us a sarcasm font.

In these humorless commenter's defense, the line between jokes and reality is unimaginably blurred these days.

Sweet; thanks Karma!!

I think the commenters are confusing Kent McDaniel (retired) and Johnny McDaniels. KMac was Rankin JMac is Hinds. That “bias for the prosecution” could be just bias against criminals. Go KMack. The proof is the pudding.

Jackson releasing raw sewage onto the street again.

Matro crime families exist. Archie is one. Esco is one.

Gun shows have absolutely nothing to do with the thugs stealing guns and using them to kill others. Until the laws are enforced and sentences carried out in a timely manner, it will never stop!!!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
