JPD warned its officers of retaliation after the arrest of alleged killer Jaden Hill on May 14. Jaden Hill allegedly rampaged through Jackson that day. JPD arrested him and charged him with ten felonies, including carjacking, armed robbery, shooting into an occupied vehicle, aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and murder. Hill's hoodlums took none too kindly to his arrest. JPD issued a memo a few days after Hill's arrest:
Fortunately, no acts of retaliation have taken place, yet.

That is some very shoddy police work. I think from this report, the thugs had a better grasp on what as going on the police.
Have the local news media covered this?
The perception of retaliation. Next.
Wonder how many of those cats in the parking lot have been caught and released in Hinds County? Thanks Robert Shuler.
All the more reason to bring in federal assistance: highly trained officers with equipment and resources who know exactly how to deal with this kind of threat and do so quickly and effectively. Isn't that what strong leadership does when they realize they are outmanned or outgunned?
No wonder twenty JPD cars show up at a lil' fender bender at the West Northside Drive exit on any given morning during "rush hour". (Any excuse) to stay of of the NO GO zones in Jackson ... I would guess.
BTW, someone mentioned current footage of the zoo.
Are those poor animals trapped out there still alive ?
Jackson desperately needs a gang taskforce. But hey, every city has crime, every city has juveniles, every city has infrastructure problems, every city has blah, blah, blah.
The thugs know the young people who are becoming members of the JPD. They are members of the same community and often attended the same schools. They also know that many of them can be intimidated. That is part of the landscape when you adopt "community policing" and do not bring in officers from outside. Who will rule the streets of Jackson? Silly question.
Not just "assault rifles," but "HIGH powered assault rifles." He must have obtained his firearms training from the MSM. At least he didn't refer to them as "MASSIVE high powered assault rifles."
Gas station is right next-door to Precinct 1.
"All the more reason to bring in federal assistance"
Nope.
That wouldn't solve a damn thing.
MHP patrolling I-55, I-20 & I-220 would be much more cost effective.
@7:34, “right next door” as opposed to just “next door?” 😉
You know what, this is some bullshit! They need to round them fuckers up and deal with their asses! If JPD is that weak, they all need to turn their shit in and go home. No other Law Enforcement Agency is this weak!!!
Geesh!!!
" JPD IS Worried"
About a thug ????
That is beyond sad !
Of our last three "real" Mayors ... only one remains with us.
Dale Danks.
The other two, Allen Thompson and Russel Davis are spinning in their graves.
All three of those Mayors had an impressive police force along with some very good JPD leaders.
(The same can be said for Hinds County LEO during that era).
Now we have JPD chiefs that must agree with the little boy Mayor... before they are permitted to talk to local WAPT, WLBT, or WJTV interns.
@8:24 PM - how about ... There is a perception of it being next-door, right?
When the feds wanted to help, Lumumba constantly complained and the black community said it was racist.
You made your bed, now sleep in it.
They need an Evite to the conflict resolution meeting.
By reading these comments, “Back the Blue” doesn’t apply when the “Blue” is Black...
“Perception” of retaliation my ass. JPD wants a paycheck. They want control. This is a true conflict of interest. I mean.
Officer Keith Hunt needs to just say he’s scared as a motherfucker. Sounds to me like someone was rapping rap lyrics.
Hill must be one of the remaining Top 30, Under 30, that stay in Jacktown. Why are they retaliating on his behalf? Put them in the paddy wagon and figure this out. Or, just wait till the 2021 version of Coco with the Popo and talk about what you should’ve done differently.
Perception of gang activity... NEXT!!!!
It gets scary when the animals start guarding the zoo.
Bring in mercenaries and give no quarters.
In the system which we live there is only one way to eliminate this savagery and that's at the ballot box. Jackson is getting exactly what they voted for.
This is exactly the way it plays out in Mexico. Narco gangs have no fear of the police and will not hesitate to retaliate against them or even the military if they should dare to do their job effectively. I know it is an oft-used cliche, but Jackson is truly becoming third-world.
In pandering to certain groups, leadership, especially Phil Bryant and Tate Reeves, have consistently said citizens have the right to walk in stores armed, if they so choose. Perhaps they meant only white citizens.
These young fools don’t understand when you are facing as many charges/time as Jayden Hill. He will certainly flip! I don’t give a shit how loyal you think this fool is on the street, his buddies need to be watching their back! Have you seen 48hrs? He will be crying and making deals!
20 years ago we had Antonio( Batman) Donaldson. In jail he was the most mild mannered young man you could meet. On the street and the media he would make Jayden Hill look like a kindergartner.
It’s too easy to start a new life, trade school and jobs are out there!
If you like smelling ass, just keep on doing that street thang!
A Former Sheriff’s Deputy
And now it’s in the public eye for said gangbangers to perhaps later learn the clerk does have video surveillance and lied to them as they waived their high powered assault rifles……
J-town should have bought their mayor at Sam's. Sam's will take anything back and this one needs to be returned for a refund.
DEFUND THE POLICE!! Clearly this is the problem. If those pesky cops weren’t running around, we could loot and steal all we want. We just need more hospitals so we have more conflict resolution meetings. And, those dang gun shows. If they weren’t around, all these wanna be cowboys wouldn’t have a way to defend themselves. ✅ Problem solved!!!
11:20 PM- you comment is way off base. Everyone in their right mind backs law enforcement. What people don’t back is lazy policing, ignorant leadership and egotistical administrators.
JPD has shown to be incompetent for the last 25 years. Compare that to how Ridgeland, Flowood and others are doing their job.
This has nothing to do with race.
Maybe Maggie Wade should do an investigative interview with LuDumba 😂
Maybe the cops have no credibility because they keep lying about guns.
11:08 EXACTLY! Whenever officers leak out these type of memos I hate it because it’s internal information for a reason. If this screenshot is on Jackson Jambalaya, it has been out in the street for weeks. JPD officers have to start using their heads and recognize acting like Teenagers aren’t going to get you a pay increase anytime sooner. They have reasons to be disgruntled but putting yourself and other officers in an even more unflattering light is so stupid and short-sighted. Also MS LEO is some of the least paid in the nation. Leadership in this state are going to have to start putting their money where their mouth is if they realllllly say they care about police here.
10:24 - don't believe it was either Phil Bryant or Tate Reeves that said that. (I think you might find it has been the courts - in their rulings on the statutes that exist).
Obviously you don't like Bryant or Reeves (must be working with Marshan out of the Mayor's office complex) and feel like you have to find a way to blame Jackson's lawlessness on the state. Nothing that the Mayor has done with his community policing, radical city, we-are-the-world attitude has contributed to our current situation, its all whitie's fault.
Good try, but next time see if you can't make a little more direct connection when pointing your fingers away from your boss.
This memo was passed around about 1-2 weeks ago.
"MHP patrolling I-55, I-20 & I-220 would be much more cost effective." Yeah, maybe, if you can get them to do it. Chasing ass is more effective as well.
10:24 a.m.: What about the part of the story where they demanded the store clerk give them video of the arrest so they could identify the cop that arrested their buddy? I believe that's called "armed robbery," and probably conspiracy to obstruct justice and/or assault a law enforcement officer.
You conveniently skipped over that part in your effort to engage in race-based politics, which totally undermines your credibility.
