Federal sentencing awaits, Hinds Indicts
A sexual predator rampaged through the Callaway High School band program until caught last year. 32 year-old Jerrell Jackson had sex with numerous girls in the Callaway band program. One victim was only 14. Jackson was a volunteer band director and a driver for Cline Bus Tours. His abuse of the girls included blindfolding and binding the girls, and passing them off to other males, some still in high school. To commemorate his conquests, Jackson videotaped it all on his phone. Jackson pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual battery and human trafficking last month in Madison County and is serving a prison sentence of 40 years.
Jackson's crimes took place in Jackson and Ridgeland. JJ obtained copies of the Ridgeland police reports through a public records request. The reports are posted below. The names of all victims and their families are redacted.
Jackson followed the same pattern in each rape. The band volunteer selected his targets, the younger the better. He offered to give them rides home from band practice and give them his number. Some accepted. Eventually he had sex with the victim. He tied the victim's hands and blindfolded her. Unknown to the girl, another male would have sex with her while Jackson quietly videotaped it all. Jackson slept with each girl multiple times.
One girl met Jackson when she began attending Callaway. Jackson gave her his phone number and told her to text him if she ever needed a ride home from band practice. He told her he was 27 and soon began putting the moves on her. They first had sex in May 2017 on a Cline bus in Ridgeland (p.3). She said they had sex "no more than 20 times at Cline Bus Tours."
A victim told Ridgeland police Jackson lived at Advantage Apartments (McWillie Circle, Jackson). They had sex multiple times. She said Jackson was "into bondage." He tied her hands and blindfolded her during sex. When he was finished, he said he had to get something out of his car. The "something" was actually a "someone" in the form of another man. The new man had sex with the bound teen while Jackson videotaped it all. They had sex from September 2017 until February 2018 when she ended the relationship. He retaliated by trying to kick her off the drum line a few months later.
Jackson's sexcapades were not exactly a secret in the Callaway band because other band members told the victim Jackson liked to record the girls with whom he had sex.
Unfortunately, the victim was not the first one to tell a parent about the bus driver. Jackson made a pass at another female band member on a trip to Atlanta. The girl said no and told a friend. The friend told her mom. Mom was no dummy and figured some of it out. She called the victim and asked if anything ever happened between her and Jackson. The girl broke down and told the mother everything. Mom told the victim's mom. The parents notified JPD, who in turn assigned an investigator. JPS arrested him on May 23, 2019. JPS contacted Ridgeland police. The mother signed charges against Jackson in Ridgeland. One can only imagine the horror these parents felt when they realized what happened to their daughters.
Unfortunately, the story does not end with this victim. A search of Jackson's apartment yielded an SD card with pictures and 40 videos of Jackson and other men having sex with girls in the Callaway band program. The videos were recorded at both his apartment and Cline Bus Tours in Ridgeland.
A second victim met Jackson on Instagram when she was in 8th grade. They began texting. She rode with him to a band event at JSU during the summer of her 8th grade year. He took the 14 year old to his apartment. She was hesitant but they eventually had sex. He told her he was 28 years old when he was really 32 years old. The sexual relationship lasted from that summer until March 2019. He would take her to various places and have sex with her. He tied her hands and blindfolded her as well. Unknown men had sex with her while he videotaped the illegal copulation. She said they had sex more than thirty times. She recognized one male in a picture as a Callaway student.
Another victim met Jackson when she was a freshman. They began talking and he eventually took her home after band practice. He paid for half of a band trip to Atlanta for her since her mother could not afford it. They began having sex during her sophomore year. She was tied up and blindfolded as well. Jackson videotaped their sexual encounters. He asked her to engage in a threesome with another female but she declined.
Jackson raped a fourth student, following the same pattern. He gave a female band member a ride home. They got to know each other. They had sex. More bondage and voyeurism took place. Jackson secretly had another male have sex with her while he recorded. She later recognized the male as a student at Jim Hill High School. The episode really upset her and she broke things off with Jackson. Jackson again retaliated by trashing her to the rest of the band.
The Ridgeland investigator met with the Callaway principal and band director. Band Director Curtis Luckett, Jr. (p.14) said he had no knowledge of Jackson's rape of the students.
Jackson pleaded guilty to one count of human trafficking and three counts of sexual battery. Circuit Judge John Emfinger sentenced him to serve 20 years in prison for each count but suspended 10 years. However, Jackson will not be coming home in 2030 because the learned Judge ordered him to serve each sentence consecutively.
While Madison County completed its prosecution of Jackson, the Hinds County version just began. The Hinds County grand jury indicted Jackson on July 10 for 22 counts of sexual battery and exploitation of a child. The indictment names 2 victims: A.R. and T.S.
The indictments repeat what is in the Ridgeland police reports. Jackson allegedly had sex repeatedly with the two girls at his apartment. He repeatedly filmed and recorded each victim having sex with him as well as other males.
Count XVIII: Jackson recorded A.R. having sex with B.W. The male was under 18.
Count XIX: Jackson recorded T.S. having sex with B.W.
Count XX: Jackson recorded T.S. having sex with A.T. The male was 21.
Count XXI: Jackson recorded A.R. having sex with A.T.
Count XXII: Jackson recorded A.R. having sex with K.W. He was 21.
Count XXIII: Jackson recorded T.S. having sex with K.W.
The case is assigned to Hinds County Circuit Judge Adrienne Wooten.
While Hinds and Madison take turns prosecuting Jackson, the feds are about to drop the hammer on the child molester. A federal grand jury indicted him on November 6, 2019 for ten counts of of sexual exploitation of children. The indictment identifies three victims. Jackson submitted notice of intent to plead guilty on March 3, 2020. However, Covid-19 intervened. U.S. District Judge Dan Jordan, III is holding hearings only when the defendant is free on bond. Such does not apply to Jackson as he was denied bail. He must wait to submit his guilty plea and receive sentencing.

Actually, a bullet to his head would be a much more appropriate penalty for what he did to those girls. We are way too lenient of a society when it comes to sex crimes against minors.
There has to be some accountability required of Callaway High School, the band director, and of course the other "men" involved. This was not an isolated incident or a few incidents. This was a sex exploitation business operating out of a high school. Parents allowing their children to participate in an extra-curricular activity and to go on band trips under "adult" supervision should expect more. Heads should roll.

While this guy and his buddies deserve to burn in hell, there is much more to this story than what we have been provided. He had sex with the girls multiple times??? Really. Why? If this guy was not identified after the first rape, something is really wrong here in the lives of these girls. Authorities need to be checking out what is going on in the homes of these children.

If any of you are involved in an organization that has strict safe sanctuary rules you know just being alone with a kid should not happen. Adults just don't get isolated with kids without there being a colossal breakdown. It can happen accidentally but in this case he is not the only one that should be held accountable. Somewhere someone failed to protect those kids.

Didn't the Callaway principL resign earlier this year, supposedly for various improprieties involving her son, who brought brass knuckles to school so he could beat up other students? Wasn't this the same principal who was kicked out of a national honor society for educators because of her failures in the Jackson Public School system? Great job, Dr. Greene. Second, the boys who were shown the pictures and videos did not report what was going on to the director or principal is an indictment of them as people. Absolutely disgusting to stand by and watch a grown ass man take advantage of these young girls.

I graduated from Callaway High School 41 years ago. At the time CHS was a leader in the state in academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, and especially contact between blacks and whites. I am ashamed to see how far my alma mater has fallen into being another social dump with no standards. I now will have to disassociate from the Charger Nation.

No. They just ran with the D.A.'s press release last month and didn't do any follow up or ask any questions. The Hinds indictments gave a preview of what the real story was so I asked for the police reports since the case was now fully adjudicated.
The former Callaway principal's son was in the band. The son that allegedly beat up another kid with brass knuckles and got away with it. Another rumor is that her nephew signed with MS State, but had to go JUCO last minute, because it was found that someone was altering his grades. He is now at MS State. There is a special place in hell for this guy! JPS and Cline Tours may as well prepare settlement offers now. The fact that this lasted long enough for there to be several victims is extremely sad. There is no damned way an adult coach/sponsor should be alone with kids for this very reason. These kinds of losers make it tougher for people that truly want to help teach and mentor children.
I am not death penalty proponent, but situations like this make me amenable to it.

Duuuuude.... the fact that you've pinned your explicit fantasies to this story, is NEARLY as disturbing as the story, itself. One reason why our nation's Founding Fathers outlawed "Cruel & Unusual Punishments", was to stop sick pucks from deriving sadistic pleasures from scenarios similar to yours. PUNISHMENT AS ENTERTAINMENT, frequently leads to framing of innocents (among other abuses), so that certain types can get their jollies.
As it is, the Perp in this story, is headed for what amounts to HELL. Exactly how much "force" was involved in his crimes, is arguable. What he did was monstrous, though, and he will probably die in a living Hell, for what he did. His dying-in-HELL, is more-than enough. You don't need to dream-up anything else. Society has allowed young adults to remain children to such an extended age that teenagers are looked upon as babies, when in fact a teenager, if raised in the proper context, can essentially function as an adult. I know a middle aged couple who married at 16. Still successfully married. I knew an elderly couple in the early 80s who were separated in age by about a decade. By today's standards, their marriage wouldn't have been legal. He would have been labeled a sexual predator. Yet he was a pillar of the community.
