Flashback

This post was first published on January 18, 2019.   How well has this "plan" worked?

The Lumumba Administration presented its new crime-fighting plan to the Jackson City Council today.

Chief Davis begins speaking at 23:09
JPD Deputy Chief Tina Wallace speaks at 41:00
Rhukia Lumumba speaks at 1:06:55

Kingfish note: Not one word about fixing the criminal justice system. Of course, they may not admit there is a problem with the Hinds County criminal justice system. Nothing was mentioned about cases taking several years to move on the dockets.  A new jail to house prisoners? Please.  Of course, the Mayor said hi to his friend, the District Attorney, in the audience.  The same District Attorney who somehow can't seem to make a single meeting of the county, Sheriff, and Justice Department concerning the detention center.  Oh yes, while they were expanding much hot air about social programs, not one word was said about the leading factor that causes crime and poverty: an unwed birthrate that is over 80% for the black community in Jackson.

The answer: A camera on every corner (and possibly in every pot), gun control, and social programs.

Is this the new city plan Antard was crowing about at his press conference yesterday? I missed it because I'm too busy trying to make money, pay taxes and protect my business while living on the edge of an urban warzone.

Lumumba is a clown. This job is just a stepping stone to become somebody's VP candidate, or to become Bennie's protege.

What does Universal Pre-K have to do with fighting crime?

"an unwed birthrate that is over 80% for the black community in Jackson"

Until you change this, nothing else matters. And, I don't know how you're going change an entire group of people's mentality when they have a "don't give a f*ck" attitude"

Paraphrasing a quote attributed to Bear Bryant when he asked a lineman he was about to put in the game if he was going to the plug the hole in the line, the young man replied, "I will do my best coach". Bryant replied, "sit down son, I already have people doing their best, I need someone who will get the job done". You may have some people doing their best in Jackson, but it isn't good enough, not even close. Now, good luck finding someone who is capable in Jackson that would be willing to run for Mayor in a place like Jackson. Even if that person existed, he or she would never be elected. Leonard's Loser in a blow out: Jackson.

11:31, simple quit paying for children, no matter what race.

My plan:

"Lock his ass up."

it says a lot that kenneth stokes welcomes federal help for policing jackson and the mayor lies about
it.

let that sink in. Kenneth Stokes is actually seeking a real solution to the crime problem. He knows there’s a problem and wants to try to solve it. Kenneth Stokes. It’s that bad that even He-king of “throw rocks, sticks, and bricks at police cars” is asking for help.

How can the mayor be this lost? Even Kenneth Stokes would be an upgrade at mayor at this point in time!

I think 12:48 hit the nail on the head! Quit incentivizing people production and you get less of it! Sounds harsh, I know, but the people having them are in 100% control of their future in that regard. If taxpayers continue to fund bad choices (at least TAXPAYERS consider those choices to be bad), nothing changes...........

It's the only thing that hasn't been tried since the Democrats dreamed it up in the first place, so why not give it a shot?

" Leonard's Loser in a blow out: Jackson."

Gawd, I loved Leonard's Losers. He was great every Fall weekend . . . (predicting SEC games for those those that have never heard of him).

Anyway, back to the topic.
I couldn't believe Lumumba once again used the liberal buzz phrase "holistic approach" in his mini tirade yesterday.

Hell, I wish someone would apply a damn "holistic approach" to the pot holes in the streets of Jackson.

Labamba, the city council and most of you guys don't get it. It ain't the police and it ain't the criminal justice system. While they can be very effective after a crime has been committed, they cannot stop these crimes. We are witnessing a culture that has abandoned the acceptance of civility. Don't you people get it??? Our system of government, our laws were never meant to deal with people so out of control. I don't know what the answer is, but it damn sure ain't anything that I've seen on this website.

Yeah 3:09, most of us do "get it".

And many of us agree with you . . . for the most part . . . ( except for your views regarding the criminal justice system).

You must be new Kingfish's blog.

“No plan survives first contact with the enemy". They and we should know this from history, World as well as Jackson, MS. As others on here have said, Next.

"Oh yes, while they were expanding much hot air about social programs, not one word was said about the leading factor that causes crime and poverty: an unwed birthrate that is over 80% for the black community in Jackson."

A City cannot fix this. However, a City can fully staff their police department to saturate the City with officers who can deter and solve crimes to get the repeaters off of the streets.

I do see a point on the chart that has been fully implemented and achieved... Real-time crime center.
Hell, this should be the new name of the city! It’s a center slap full of real-time crime. The “holistic” talk comes from Whole Foods. He lunches there often, with many many “security” guys. Cause ya know... the hippies.

Kingfish, you should know that constantly attacking Black leaders is racist as fuck. You are always quick to attack Black Mayors, Black Judges, Black Councilpersons, Black Sheriffs, Black Police Chiefs, Black Public Works Directors, and you promote far more Black crime stories than white crime stories.

Serious question. Are there any legitimate candidates to take on Lubumba? Is he mayor for life until Benny retires or croaks and then he goes to Congress.

@10:20 I really thought we'd hit bottom with Yarber, then Lumumba came along and we've scraped the bottom of the barrel. I shudder to think of anyone worse who could win - Jackson can't survive another term of incompetence and corruption.

" I really thought we'd hit bottom with Yarber "

I had honestly forgotten about Yarber.
He WAS a piece of work . . . but he was a statesman when compared to baby Lumumba.

I didn't agree with anything (Lumumba the First) proclaimed, but at least one could tell he was a real man.

As Mr. Kim Wade says, love him or hate him . . . he did spew testosterone when he walked into a room.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
