JPD issued the following statement.
Jackson Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that
occurred in the 3100 block of Terry Rd at the Sunshine Food Mart.
An officer who had recently ended his shift was at the Popeye’s
restaurant just down the street when he was told by the staff that an
unknown black male was inside the location being very unruly and
disrupting the business.
The officer observed that the suspect had left and traveled just
down the street to the Sunshine Food Mart. The officer requested backup
which arrived just as the suspect was exiting the store. The suspect
could be heard verbally threatening to do harm
to the officers. The suspect then retrieved what appeared to be a
silver handgun from his waistband and pointed the weapon at officers.
One officer discharged his weapon twice at the suspect before he fled
on foot.
One of the rounds fired by the officer appears to have missed the
suspect and struck a vehicle that was traveling in the area. The
occupants of that vehicle were not injured.
Moments of the incident were captured on store surveillance.
The suspect was later identified as, 26-year-old, Reginald Harper.
He is wanted for Attempted Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer and
remains at large. Whether or not the suspect sustained any injuries
during the incident is unknown.

Classic flatfoot.
Sounds like to me; all the police officers need to go back to shooting school. Officer missed the subject and hit a car traveling on Terry Road.
I'm missing the part about how the perp got away from multiple officers...
Louis: He had a 'silver gun'. That means he also had silver bullets and you know danged well what that means!
So the JPD officers were werewolves?
