Why even open at all? Nothing gets done between whenever state "workers" show up and 10 a.m., (besides maybe breakfast).
According to the forecast, that's supposed to be peak precipitation time. Why not just have an auto dial system, too easy?
"Why not just have an auto dial system, too easy?"
You'd think.
I used to work for a State Agency that had an automated system like that.
Talk about a cluster phuck.
Damn thing would start robo calls in the middle of the night if a snowflake fell in Yazoo.
Then we'd catch hell if we didn't enter our PIN to acknowledge the damn robo call within so many minutes.
What trials and tribulations you State Employees must endure, 5:50. But, at the end of the day, even after all this suffering, you have your PERS 13th check.
that Phil is quite the leader!
Too much like right for him to do the sensible thing.
At least Phil,Tate and Philip have trained Highway Patrolmen to carry them around! Must be nice! Just wait until tomorrow morning - black ice. Wonder what any of them would care if a state employee got killed on the way to work?
Gov. Phil Bryant has closed all state offices Tuesday, January 16, with the possibility for a delayed opening for Wednesday.
The next most idiotic thing is these county offices (and even private sector geniuses) that 'let all non-essential personnel' go home early. As if managers and department heads are better drivers and can't get killed on an iced-over bridge?
Consider the potential liability in those decisions.
