State Auditor Stacey Pickering issued the following press release:
Former Madison County Deputy Sheriff Indicted
JACKSON-
State Auditor Stacey Pickering announced today that Marcus Hudson, a
former Madison County Deputy Sheriff and Madison County Tax Collector
Process Server, has been indicted on one count of making fraudulent
statements.
Special
Agents from the State Auditor’s Office have served Hudson with a demand
in the amount of $12,373.51, which includes the total embezzled, along
with interest and investigative expenses.
Hudson,
30, is accused of falsifying time sheets in order to embezzle public
funds to which he was not entitled in his part-time position as process
server for the Madison County Tax Collector. Hudson filled out three
time sheets dated March 23, 2012, April 5, 2012, and April 20, 2012, and
presented them for payment for time he never worked.

Too bad. An otherwise really good guy. Hate to see him do stupid stuff with permanent consequences.
A fake. Marcus Hudson talked out of both sides of his mouth. What goes around comes around. You reep what you sow!!!
Wonder what the actual total embezzled amount was, without fines and "investigative expenses".
What about all the bad checks he wrote? He was kiting all over the area for years. Randy Tucker better hope he don't flip and tell on a lot of the crap he has done.
A crooked cop. Imagine that.
12:17, What does reep mean?
My pet frog says reep.
Usually the person steals far more than what is reported. Officials get enough evidence to prove the case then prosecute.
It would be interesting to see who approved the time sheets to begin with and who caught the theft.
I hear this stretched back over several years and involved tens of thousands of dollars.
The Tax Collector Kay Pace herself approved his time sheets. Hudson what "HER Deputy". If you remember her talking about "HER Deputy" a couple years back when she and her boyfriend got in hot water over some property rent and they showed up at Madison County Justice Court in a marked county vehicle with her boyfriend driving and he isn't a county employee. It made the television news.
If Bert wasn't there, it didn't happen.
