The SEC schedule of permanent opponents has been leaked. Ole Miss caught a break while State got stuck with you know who. Read 'em and weep.
Ole Miss picked a good time to get rid of Vandy as a permanent opponent. However, getting OU in return might make it a wash. Sorry to see Tennessee and Georgia lose their rivalry. It sucks giving up the Alabama game for LSU (one more reason to hate a 9-game schedule) but the SEC was not going to give Alabama Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU as permanent opponents. Let the knocking each other off begin.
Matt Moscogna breaks it all down.

Vandy becoming a formidable opponent. The post-covid world is nuts! Their QB is seeking a 7th year of eligibility.....
The Vanderbilt quarterback has said he isn't seeking a 7th year.

In what world is trading Vandy for Oklahoma a "wash"? I get that Vandy has improved, but...nah.
Georgia got off easy!
Tennessee got the break for sure.
In a NIL world Vandy should be able to become very competitive.
"In a NIL world Vandy should be able to become very competitive."
Rich that their baseball program isn't a big fan of the NIL era after all those years of unlimited scholarships giving them a leg up. Leveled up the playing field and Cobin doesn't like it.
Ole miss and Tennessee should have been a mess... er, match.
Bama isn’t Saban’s Bama, so that’s not a terrible draw for State.
Ole Miss and Texas would have been a great match.
Ole Miss didn't pick 'shit'. No team had a say in this (supposedly).
Auburn is faced with the toughest if Bama can come back to being competitive. But it matters not since none of the rosters will be recognizable from year to year. You ask a lot of these lettuce-heads who they play for and they'll have to look in their phones.
Looks like they kept Georgia’s oldest games. Auburn at 129. Florida at 103, and South Carolina at 76. It’s more about $ than getting off easy.
4:43 for the win. Who knows (or who cares) what, or when, or who in today/s world of this semi-pro-called school based game.
Will Alabama regain their foothold in coming years? Just like Ole Miss lost what they claimed was their preeminence from their glory days (and never regained) when they and Alabama put 140 players on the roster to keep them away from everybody else, now with NIL and transfer crap, the teams will change from year to year and what some call equality (others call mediocrity) will tend to make this all a nothing-burger.
But Apple will do well as the players have to depend on their devices when being interviewed to remind them who they were playing for and what the team's mascot/coach is.
Both the SEC and NFL manipulate the schedules every year to create the most dramatic end to the season. Can you imagine State and Vandy playing for the SEC championship? What a draw!
Kingfish - love you but WTF are you talking about Ole Miss caught a break??? LSU and Oklahoma.
If State and Vandy played for the SEC championship, ESPN and the SEC would make sure it never happened again.
