Only 15 cops to cover a town of 11,000?

I’m going to be frank. Moss Point is majority black and is run similarly to Jackson. Same for Pascagoula. Both cities are majority black and run by black democrats. There is a pattern that is repeated around the country. They don’t respect or want whites in any leadership positions.
Glad I don’t live there. Live by the crime & die by the fire! Police deserve respect & decent salary. No city can stand alone without good law enforcement.
What was the original suspension of the chief for?
If anything is replaceable, it’s a cop.
According to Google: Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley was suspended in August 2025 for failing to inform city leaders about a domestic violence incident involving a subordinate officer, Craig Chandler, and for his subsequent handling of the situation. Ashley's suspension was later rescinded, and he has since resigned from his position.
- Officer Involved: Craig Chandler, a K-9 Officer who was slated for promotion to sergeant, was involved in a domestic violence incident.
- Nature of the Incident: Chandler was in a dispute with his wife over his dog, which led to him slamming a dog kennel onto her and punching holes in a wall during the argument. His daughter recorded the incident on a video, which was shared with authorities.
- Chandler's Consequences: Chandler pleaded guilty to domestic violence simple assault, was fired from the department, and is currently under a state investigation regarding his law enforcement certification.
- Chief Ashley's Involvement: Chief Ashley had not informed city leaders, including Mayor Billy Knight, about the domestic violence charge against Chandler, even as he recommended Chandler for the promotion.
Here's a bulletin for you. The incoming chief doesn't need to know what he's in for. It's fairly obvious the jails are a revolving door.
Moss Point is lost.
