Check out this recent advert for "Chew & Chat" at Tougaloo College.
While much attention was focused on Charleston White because of his tirade after the event, something else escaped notice.
"Attorney & JSU Professor" Jacobi Grant. As the Samsung-sponsored Lee Corso would say, not so fast my friend.
Grant indeed graduated from law school. No shame in that, right. However, he is not a licensed attorney. JJ checked with the Mississippi Bar and found he is not an attorney. Stolen valor?
The JSU professor experienced other problems earlier this year.

There is no honor among thieves.
I’ve never been on the Tougaloo campus but it seems to have been going downhill lately.
oh no! he smokes the devil's lettuce!!!!
He can provide his students with a first hand account of Rankin justice … and probably get a raise
Lies, All Lies!
I didn't see where the advert claimed he was licensed?
Plus, The Loo gets taken off the air. It’s so sad.
College professors debating "snitch culture" at a black college really kind of speaks for itself, as to what the real problem is.
We're loading kids down with out own personal agendas.
Does Tougaloo offer a degree in snitching?
And runs from the cops!!!!
Tougaloo might as well close down. All the place is good for is race baiting indoctrination. What do they have like 200 students
"All the place is good for is race baiting indoctrination".
So true 2:31.
They think they are some kind of elite HBCU.
They are not.
I had the pleasure of working with a Tougaloo Alumna.
She caused more problems than anything else ...
She always criticized JSU, Alcorn & Valley while screaming racism every time the air conditioner thermostat didn't satisfy her.
@ "I didn't see where the advert claimed he was licensed?"
1: I'm betting there's a law or bar rule that prohibits unlicensed folks calling themselves attorneys, just like the rules for doctors, pharmacists, engineers, etc.
2: I also bet the rule is not enforceable against another person or entity erroneously calling him an attorney.
@3:14 Kind of like a lot of Ole Miss Alumna.
@2:31 Tougaloo has over 700 students, just FYI. Millsaps by comparison has 584.
King - anyone can be an attorney. But not a lawyer.
The majority doesn’t consider Millsaps a credible institution either….
Well, my goodness! Not only did someone else inaccurately describe his status with the MS Bar, but he was caught with (gasp) weed? Oh no, I must clutch my pearls now. By breaking such hard hitting (and important) news like this, you make clear that you’re destined for the big leagues!
If you’re gonna trash someone else, you should probably make sure it’s about something that’s actually important.
Pot smokers must be eradicated.
KF, it may be that he just decided not to pay the yearly dues. I don't really know why a professor would bother. I'm not defending his current charges and the court will decide guilt. But, perhaps he's among those who graduate from law school but don't pass the bar exam. As you know, Ole Miss lawyers didn't have to take it for decades and the pass rate was miniscule for out of state grads, many of whom were admitted to the bar in other states.
6:21 a.m., When someone gets a possession charge while driving, it's usually because the cop smelled it, which is usually because the person was smoking it in the car.
The cop probably gave him a break by not charging him with DUI (other).
to the profession excuse maker at 2:14..............................the term 'attorney'' explicitly implies that he is licensed to practice law by the state.
maybe he should just tell the truth and say''prior law school student/graduate.
