Jimmy Kimmel is off late-night tv. The Wall Street Journal reported:
Disney said it is pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s show off of ABC in the wake of remarks the late-night host made about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. “‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ will be pre-empted indefinitely,” an ABC spokeswoman said Wednesday. The suspension begins with tonight’s planned broadcast...Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr criticized Kimmel during an interview with conservative political podcaster Benny Johnson on Wednesday and suggested the regulatory agency could take action against the broadcast licenses of ABC-owned stations. Owners of some ABC TV stations, including large broadcaster Nexstar Media Group told the network they were dropping the show. Representatives for Kimmel couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. In his Monday night broadcast, Kimmel—who has often criticized President Trump on his show—said, “the Maga Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving,” he added. Kimmel also said Vice President JD Vance and others in “MAGA-land” were trying to capitalize on Kirk’s death. Nexstar, which owns and operates 32 ABC affiliates in large- and mid-size markets, said Kimmel’s remarks about Kirk’s death and his followers were beyond the pale. “Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located,” said Andrew Alford, President of Nexstar’s broadcasting division. This story sure aged well, any plans for an update? Seems to be record numbers for Jimmy. Long live the King of Late Night.
His monologue from last nights show already has over 25 million views on YouTube alone. Wow, talk about a ratings bonanza. It’s like there are millions of people who don’t like Donald Trump or something. Crazy that someone like that could be so popular. Based on the comments here, I figured a couple hundred people were watching, Kingfish’s chart showed such a decline.
His return episode got 6.26 million viewers tuning in. Tens of millions more on social media. Trump sure screwed the pooch on this one.
Of course he did. That is to be expected. Let's see what it is in three months. Before the whole mess started, he was getting from 50,000 to 300,000 views on Youtube per video. However, whenever he talked about Trump, it would shoot up into the millions. Want to know why he takes shots at Trump? That's what gets him the most traffic and it's not even close. Go look for yourself.
