Prayers for the victim and his family. May God be with them. I saddens me that someone just lost his life, the body is still warm, and a few sick, evil people are racing to politicize this and validate their own beliefs when we know nothing about the shooter. Sick.

Whether it’s Elon Musk joking that Paul Pelosi’s hammer-wielding attacker was a jilted gay lover or random Bluesky posters quoting Charlie Kirk’s actual words, both sides need to tone it down.

Therefore, we can say it was on purpose and from someone who disagreed with him. That is a mentally ill derranged individual. There are many people I disagree with, I also own firearms. At no point in my life have I ever pulled the trigger on someone. I have though had the crosshairs on someone who could very possibly endanger me and no triggers pulled. That is called self control. People that do this kind of thing have none.

Also, social media gives everyone a platform. I have noticed a majority of people commenting on a national stage have fake pictures, do not list any employer, or family members. Take that for what you will, but no accountability for your words is partially why we are in this mess. People can go on a national platform and spew whatever BS they want, without fear of retributions. That, in my opinion, is a large contributor of the divisiveness in this country. Charlie stood in front of people and stated and argued his opinions. Right, wrong, or indifferent, he had the fortitude many of these celebrating his death don't. Cowards, all of them, including the person that took his life. At no point does a disagreement with anyone give you the right to take someone's life.

Getting buried in this news was another school shooting yesterday. I wish we would start lowering the flags to half staff every time a child was senselessly murdered instead of for trolls like Charlie. I'm sincerely interested in a discussion of how gun control could have made any difference in this assassination. Maybe if the person shooting it was previously diagnosed of mental illness and his family couldn't stop him from getting a gun or something, but this was done with a bolt-action single-shot rifle. Generally schools are targeted because they are high-impact low # of armed people targets and we should fix that.

Even if they can’t pass a background check, that doesn’t stop them from buying a used gun locally from a classified ad. Break into any car in this state and there’s a 50% chance you’ll find a gun under the seat. Guns are so prevalent in this country that school shootings are a daily occurrence. No other country has this issue because no other country is so flooded with guns.

However, we cannot continue as one union with such diametrically diverse positions on practically every subject. It will not be geographic succession as much as states rights succession. Some border states will close their borders and some will welcome all comers. Some will strictly enforce law and order and some will let the criminals rule. Some states will protect victims and others will protect criminals. Some will protect children and parental rights and others will embrace transgender indoctrination. Etc, etc.
