Was There a Kaboom?

Live from the streets of Jackson. Specifically Woodrow Wilson by the Five Points.

The comments are gold. They just don't understand.

Actually pretty awesome.

Mane, that Malibu spittin'

Is there even a perception of police protection in Jackson anymore?

Anonymous said...

10:21 - Precinct 3? Hell naw. Let them have their fun for now. As soon as the CCID expansion hits that area, it'll all be over with.

Anonymous said...

So, when they did it in the movie Grease, it was cool. But let black folks do it, and its the end of the world.

Anonymous said...

Could they at least stop oncoming traffic for 30 seconds?

Anonymous said...

I'm sure our incessantly talking Police Chief Joseph Wade will begin to incessantly talk as soon as the TV news cameras arrive seeking comment.

Anonymous said...

What? These youths aren't playing in JPD's basketball league to occupy their time?

@10:35

Grease was set in the 50s..... oh yeah and also, it was a MOVIE. It doesnt matter what nationality, race, or religon folks who do this are, it puts other people traveling down the road in significant danger. Those arent off the lot cars with a k@N filter and a chip, those are drag cars and should be used on a DRAG STRIP

Street Outlaws glamorized this silly shit

Anonymous said...

They not big on planning and thinking ahead apparently.

Anonymous said...

and 10:35 cites to something that happened in a fictional, 50-year-old movie to justify total lawlessness in Jackson

The lengths some people will go to grind their personal axes continue to surprise (and disappoint)

Anonymous said...

Their employers are sure generous to give them the day off. It's all fun and games until someone pokes an eye out.

Reason #351 why I haven't been in Jackson for years.

Anonymous said...

drag racing is boring, and even more so when its done in POS cars.

Anonymous said...

When “they” did this in the movie Grease, @10:35 AM, “they” did it in a movie. It was fiction. It was fantasy. “They” set the scene up and innocent lives weren’t endangered.

Dolt.

10:35, when Kenickie raced against the Scorpions in Grease, it was in a dry riverbed, not on an open public road like these assclowns were doing. Don’t pick sides based solely on the ethnicity of those involved.

My Tesla model Y dual motor is about 15X faster. I dont need to waste rubber or anything. My 6000 pounds of batteries ensures good traction. What is mind-boggling is the 0-60 in less than 3 seconds despite weighing more than a Silverado.

Anonymous said...

the characters in grease were supposed to be teenagers.

Anonymous said...

Nice try. In the movie, they raced in a river bed, not a public street. Take that racist bullshit somewhere else.

Anonymous said...

10:35 - Grease was a movie, you twit. It was also in the Los Angeles river basin, not the main drag of a heavily-traveled street where pedestrians can get hit. If you're going to throw the race card, try not to sound so fucking stupid. Oh wait - too late.

Anonymous said...

Apparently 10:35 doesn't know that "Grease" is fiction. 10:35 reminds me of people who see a period movie and believe the Hollywood fantasy is historical fact.

Anonymous said...

Yall took the bait on the Grease comment. Every time.

Anonymous said...

And the fictional characters in Grease settled their differences with fast cars and NOT automatic weapons...

Anonymous said...

Can' fix Stupid !!!

Anonymous said...

I suppose yall think the Hollywood Nights was fiction too?

Anonymous said...

Here's a wonderful story for you sheltered children, its about street racing in LA in the 60s. Kinda like that movie. https://vocal.media/wheel/teenage-drag-racing-in-1960s-los-angeles

Anonymous said...

Interesting. Like most fiction, the fictional movie Grease had a basis in reality. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_racing#:~:text=In%20the%20United%20States%2C%20modern,producing%20high%2Dpowered%20performance%20cars.

Anonymous said...

Instead of Grease, maybe we should be referencing Mad Max.

Anonymous said...

Some white kids did it in California 60 years ago, so it's OK.

Anonymous said...

So a couple of commenters seem to think street racing is justified since it was done in the 1950s in Los Angeles. It was wrong then and it’s wrong now. By that twisted progressive logic, murders now are justified since they were murdering people in LA in the 50s. I’m just glad it’s so easy to crush your liberal arguments with fact and logic.

Anonymous said...

LOL, I got pulled over right there on the way home for running that red light... 40 year old white girl, and I said I wasn't paying attention when I really wanted to say I just didn't want to stop here. I think he knew it and let me off with a warning. I'm glad I worked from home today!

Anonymous said...

Keep taking the bait 3:22.

Anonymous said...

It's all fun and games until someone puts an eye out.

Anonymous said...

Dang! Somebody struck a nerve with the dumb grease comment. The JJ boomer blog never disappoints.

Anonymous said...

There was NOTHING "cool" about Grease. It was a disgusting movie, about slimy people with slimy hair, chewing gum with their mouths open, like the hoodlums they were.

Anonymous said...

But where’s Capitol Police? Pretty sure that’s their jurisdiction 🤷🏽‍♂️

Anonymous said...

Too late bud… That’s Capitol’s jurisdiction and they don’t patrol it regularly.

Anonymous said...

Remember the woman want interview after a race club closed interstate 55 to race? She compared it to mad max!

Anonymous said...

Police only investigate crimes committed against rich people! Poor people are there own

Anonymous said...

“Grease is the Word”, y’all funny

Anonymous said...

We'll know Shad's serious about running for Governor when he starts auditiing and arresting the street racers and stunt show folk!

Anonymous said...

Looking like we have some double clutching, gear jamming, lead footed, throttle jockeys getting in a little seat time.

Anonymous said...

"chewing gum with their mouths open," If that's the worst thing you would see in Jackson I would be thrilled.

Anonymous said...

2:14 Yes, the Grease bait was taken. Someone opined that the sun rises in the west and was called out for the error in logic. Kudos to all the "bait" takers.

Anonymous said...

Please be careful 3:32. Fact and logic is hate speech to a liberal.

Anonymous said...

I love it when liberals defend one of their own from attacks pointing out liberalism and reason are antithetical.

Anonymous said...

When I was young, my family would go to the mall there at 5 points. We’d eat at Pickadilly restaurant. Go to the zoo. Used to be a nice part of town, what has happened here?

Anonymous said...

I started to take 5:12’s bait impugning “Grease”, but then I realized he’s just a jobless troll in his parents’ basement, so my emotions are running more toward sympathy.

Perkin said...

Who won? Louisiana or Mississippi

Anonymous said...

9:36 is a prime example of a keyboard warrior who just can’t resist fixing everything on the internet. And to the Grease haters, what about Sandy Dee?

Anonymous said...

Well maybe if some fine upstanding citizen of that area would have called CPD something could have been done. Looking at the crowd they was too busy enjoying the racing to worry about the law

Anonymous said...

6:45, see 9:40.

Anonymous said...

5:56 - 5:58 - The CCID boundary doesn't cover that area. It's not Capitol Police's jurisdiction - yet.

We KNOW it really was "a thing". OK? It was a thing, among foolish, odious people. So, using it to justify current misuse of automobiles, by other foolish, odious people, would be stupid.

Anonymous said...

Those are actual drag strip cars.

The blue Camaro is obviously running large twin turbos, and it lost to the Mustang.

Anonymous said...

5:38, not a mustang. Not even a Ford.

Anonymous said...

10:35 must have been trolling. Nobody is that stupid.
But if not, I am super-sorry that there is not enough reality based racism to fulfill your needs.

You and Jussie should really accept that your failures in life are simply based on your lack of talent and not your skin tone.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.

Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.

There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug.
