Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
Approximately 9:30am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department was notified about a possible stolen U-Haul box truck proceeding westbound on I-20 from Scott County into Rankin County.
A B.O.L.O. was issued out to deputies with the patrol division in an attempt to locate the vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle was spotted on I-20 westbound near the 56-mile marker and after the vehicle information was confirmed a traffic stop was initiated.
At that time deputies took Jessie Lee Dennis Jr. into custody for Receiving Stolen Property and notified the Capitol Police Department that the U-Haul which had reported stolen on 12/11/2024 was recovered.
Jessie Dennis was transported to the Rankin County Detention Center and his bond set at $25,000.

Waiting for the 'low hanging fruit crowd' to crawl out of bed.
Just finished the morning coffee. Low hanging fruit, while this great state burns!!!
Was a box truck, not a trailer.
Great police work. How did they ever spot a U-Haul truck. They are so inconspicious.
Jessie Lee won’t be home for Christmas!
I hope there is more to this story. Could he be that stupid?
Stolen trailer or box truck? These two are not similar.
Reminds me of the story of the SF Activist who pushed to Defund the Police, and was puzzled as to why they didn’t care to find the stolen U-Haul containing all her possessions or catch the thief.
Never forget, Sheriff Bryan Bailey was repeatedly notified of abuses by deputies in his department, yet chose to ignore the problem! Never forget!
Wonder if he took a noggin' floggin' with the official County dildo?
If something this trivial results in a press release the Rankin SO must not be doing anything of consequence.
