Raising Hell at Raising Cane's

A brawl took place at Raising Cane's in Madison Friday night after the Madison-Central-Germantown football game. The Jaguars won 49-0.

Law enforcement sources said there was some friction between some players on the opposing teams. Students and players from both schools were hanging out at the restaurant after the game.  Some mouthing off took place and a fracas broke out.   The kids wearing white sleeveless shirts in the video are football players.

The Madison Police are investigating the incident.

I wish Germantown would have fought this hard during the actual game.

Much better than side handed guns popping off. This reminds me of growing up in South Jackson when we met North Jackson, Madison etc. Hopefully only bruised egos and live to fight another day. This modern ghetto culture vs the 90's is night and day different, and that's not a compliment. Pure unbridled ignorance.

You won't catch me dead in Madison after dark! NOT SAFE!!!!

Looked like a lot of Madison Central players jumping that one Germantown kid. I hope they all get suspended from this week's game

@10:03 AM Yep, stay in Jackistan where it is very safe.

God if this is what passes as news these days, had social media been around in the 90s McDowell Road would have been a world famous destination for reporters.

Bryan Bailey should resign because of this lol seemed fitting

Crime is so bad in Madison now. I used to live there, but then someone stole my horsetrailer one night and I decided to move to Jackson to escape the crime!

Don’t know if that was a cop or security guard but…I’d be damn if I’d step into that. Time to grab the litter size OC spray and skeech them all down. “Dispatch, I’m 10-8. HBO.”

Law enforcement source said the parents of the two main belligerents already spoke to each other and are making their two boys do volunteer service.

Seems like some parents were Raising Cain. They don't seem Abel to behave.

The post should read "former" football players. Any player involved should be removed from the team immediately. But nothing will be done.

time to move to Attala County..

I nominate this best comment.

"I wanna report a beatdown at the grease pit! "

Anonymous said...

Looks like everyone involved needs to do community service and make a public apology. Parents needs to get a belt and beat their kids ass.

They know better than do that shit at the Flowood Cane’s.

It seems being able to afford a nice house doesn't change anything.

Could just as easily be Forest Hill vs Wingfield. And yall moved up there for the "good schools."

Agree with 10:12. This happened multiple times every night on McDowell Road. And then we had a beer and laughed it off. And we had sense enough to do it outside.

You can't stop what's coming. Not even Mayor Mary.

11:17 AM - I second that nomination.

They fight like girls. all man cards need to be confiscated

I know this may make me an ole ole fart but back when there was a Shoney's at Westland Plaza and Ellis Ave. was the Friday night drag strip this after game stuff was expected if Murrah or Central ballers strayed into our territory. Adults will need to recognize that this kind of stuff can happen among local rivals when there is little or no security present. On the football field the coaches often have to separate the teams when they are warming up...before the game. What makes after game so different? Hopefully they will know better next time.

They are wearing nice hoods!!!

Imagine being in there with your family trying to eat on a friday evening.....Mgt should tell them no one is welcomed after the games now...GO AWAY....

2:13 is exactly right. It happens everywhere there are settled communities. Riff raff moves, gets some numbers and then it happens (see NE Jxn).

All I can say was back in my day if we had just been beaten 49-0 we’d have all headed to the house and kept to ourselves for the weekend.

No shots were fired and the non-believers foolishly say there is no such thing as miracles.

"Law enforcement source said the parents of the two main belligerents already spoke to each other and are making their two boys do volunteer service." Key words: parents, spoke

Kids do dumb things. That's why two parent households with a father and mother are key.

Disclaimer: No participants were injured in the filming of this video, because they all fight like little bitches.

People are moving to Attala, Holmes, and Yazoo. Horses, side by sides, no traffic congestion, no Mayor Mary and still within distance of the metro.

Kids these days are really stoopid. After getting beat like a drum on the field, you never stuff a sock in your britches and head to the hangout where winners congregate. It's simply not done and it smacks of poor taste.

Hey, you ex-Jacksonians, keep your kids under control before someone regulates them. For those of you saying this was normal in South Jackson back in the 80s and 90s. Well, I got bad news for you Madison isn't going to be another South Jackson in anyway or form.

Did I hear “grab my pistol” at the end? Fisticuffs will happen. You know you’re getting old when your first reaction is very negative but then step back and realize you did worse at that age haha.

Didn't Germantown High kick Branson Robinson out of school for his fight. Branson was the # 1 recruit in Mississippi.

He graduated from St. Joe.

Now plays for #1 Georgia Bulldogs.

Oh yeah, I remember well those late Fridays after JPS games. Callaway, Murrah, Wingfield, Provine -- skirmishes that took place but most of the time never moved past a few light punches thrown.

Please keep that trash in Madison County.

I'm glad there were no cell phones back when a fight broke out at The Village between Brandon/Pearl/NWR, etc. There were some doozy's back then and these young bucks wouldn't stand a chance.

Signed,

Bootlicker(yall know who I'm talking about)

I went to one of the top 4 public high schools in another state. The rivalries were fierce.

However, not ONE fight ever broke out anywhere after any high school game. Our parents taught us better and IF they'd been that stupid in years past, they had learned something from it and would NEVER condone or excuse it nor would coaches.

Who are you people? Don't you know the kids are likely reading this and the comments?

Anonymous said...

I don't disagree with you 11:29, but aint' no kids reading this.

They are too dumb and preoccupied with Tik Toc these day to be bothered with blogs.

This is far to close to academia and useful knowledge to be on their radar.

Anonymous said...

I often wonder how these "kids" will function in the real world once high school is over. Will they get jobs where they have to show up on time and be productive? Will workplaces allow people to Tik Tok all day while on the job? I came from a lower-middle class family and worked though college and had to get student loans. I have held the same position for almost twenty years and am now financially stable. I remember thinking about my future while I was in high school- something that I would bet most of these young people have not.

As a former MC football player and Madison resident, I will say these things happened all the time when I was growing up. We used to meet up at Strawberry Patch Park and head out to whoop some Clinton ass. Nothing has changed except for camera phones and kids dumb enough to do it indoors at an eating establishment.

That said, a lot of the kids on Madison Central's team reside in Flora not Madison. Gluckstadt has its fair share of Jackson and Canton immigrant neighborhoods too.

Anonymous said...

Definitely see several Flora and Canton in this fight. If you speak to teachers about this, they can tell you. The coaches won’t suspend anyone. These are their best players.

What's amazing to me is how this fiasco never made it to any of the local news outlets. I guarantee you if this has taken place in Jackson it would have been all over the news. Typical news suppression for certain cities.

Kingfish said...

They are waiting on a press release. MPD is going to issue one but is still investigating.

Anonymous said...

Typical. Why can't they act right? If this would have happened between JA and Jackson Prep at Parham Bridges, it would have been all over the news. Trashy people in a trashy "Brick City".

Anonymous said...

It’s really not a school issue because it happened off campus. However, there would be no consequences if it was on campus. Madison County School District panders to this sort of behavior out of fear. Kids with no consequences (at home or school) will push the boundaries as far possible. And when they realize there are no boundaries, you get this chaos!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
