Auto Burglary Ring Busted after Hitting Madison (Updated)

Forrest County deputies busted a "major" auto burglary ring today.  The Hattiesburg Patriot reported the ring hit over 30 vehicles in Madison last night.  Video of the arrest is posted below, complete with Tom Gorman's taunt of a suspect in cuffs.

Update (10/14/23, 7:35 AM): The Madison Police Department issued the following statement.

On October 13, 2023, at 0547 am, eleven vehicles were burglarized by forced entry at 2160 Main Street, Madison, Mississippi.  The Madison Police Department responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Similar incidents were discovered in Oxford and other areas of North Mississippi. Investigators obtained information leading them to a female attempting to cash fraudulent checks at banks in Pearl, Mississippi. With the assistance of multiple law enforcement agencies, 41-year-old Danelle Amber King and 42-year-old Matthew Arthur, both from Cleveland, Tennessee, were apprehended on Hwy 49 in Richland, Mississippi. They are currently detained at the Rankin County Detention Center.

The Madison Police Department continued its investigation, leading them to a residence in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The Forrest County Sheriff’s Department was contacted, and three females were taken into custody after surveillance was set up on the residence. The females taken into custody are identified as 30-year old Jasmine Danielle Atkins, 29-year old Maya Marie Habersham, and 23-year old Desire Shardae Robinson, all from Florida. These three individuals are currently detained at the Madison County Detention Center.

Simultaneously, investigators with the Madison Police Department and Rankin County Sheriff’s Department located other individuals linked to the auto burglaries. Three individuals were apprehended on Interstate 59 at the 143 exit in Trussville, Alabama.  The individuals taken into custody are 29-year old Raymone Marquis Davis, 27-year old Victor Alexander Ogiste, and 28-year old Danarious Trevon Young, all from Florida. These three individuals are detained at the Trussville Jail in Alabama.  Extradition paperwork is being filed to have them transported back to Madison, Mississippi.

The Madison Police Department expresses gratitude to the Richland Police Department, Pearl Police Department, Flowood Police Department, Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, Forrest County Sheriff’s Department, and the Alabama State Troopers for their assistance in capturing the suspects.

This coordinated effort among multiple law enforcement agencies is commended as an example of exemplary teamwork in addressing the situation.

Madison is lost.

For those of us who do not use facebook, we cannot view this. Is there another way?

Amazing detective work! It’s as if we can find anyone anywhere.

Madison is toast. Too much retail by the interstate that is a magnet for undesirables. This is why we are moving our family OUT of the city to Flora where are less of them.

That address looks like either a shopping center and/or a tire shop. Does anyone know if the victim's cars were at a tire shop? At 547 AM, I can't imagine 30 cars being at the stores unless they were left overnight as in for repair.

Do folks not clean their cars out when leaving them at shops with no bays or fencing? These chicks are probably not as suspicious looking around cars in suburban areas as the normal thugs would be. And I guess there are no houses nearby to hear breakage or see it, either.

But sound like good ole detective work along with the huge number of plate readers in Madison, too. We have a window broken out in Memphis at a very nice hotel on the river. For nothing gained; an empty secondary economy car for backup, not a King Ranch with guns. 19 cars hit.

And it's basically nationwide now as there is little repercussion in certain cities, if it's investigated at all there.

One place they hit was a fitness center where they were having early morning boot camps.

To paraphrase an overused, worn out quote on this blog, the price of my house in Jackson just went up.

Wow. That's bold. I bet they found purses that way, though. Thanks for clarifying, KF.

No mention of JPD? More proof that no serious crime ever occurs in J-town?

Thanks to very irresponsible gun owners, it is very likely that the perps also stolen unsecured firearms from these vehicles.

Buy a damn gun safe for $12 at Academy Sports, jackwagons!!!

Set appropriate bail, then prosecute them. If they are found guilty, sentence them to an appropriate prison term. That is the only way to deal with this.

Released without bail and no prison = more of this crap.

I live in Jackson, not Madison. I have friends and family in Hinds and Madison Counties. I wish the trolls on this site would find something better to do with their time than vomit up the sewage of stupid regional rivalries. That said, I am dazzled by the performance of the Madison PD, on this case and many others. Way to go, guys. Way to go.

I’d bet something stolen had an Air Tag hidden in it which lead them to the
House in the Hub City

Tag readers all over Madison (and elsewhere)...even if the car is stolen it's info to use until it is ditched

Good job to all law enforcement involved.

The 'tire shop' is about a hundred yards north of this facility that holds boot camps. Apparently, thirty of more boot camp participants were attending early morning ninja training and their vehicles were the targets. The tire shop and its customers with cars left overnight were not involved.

"Taunting"? Your jealousy is showing Kingfish. Gorman's report was lengthy, yet complete, and had clear audio and stable video.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
