Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
On Monday, October 25, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Rankin County deputies were dispatched to the area of Marsman Road, in the unincorporated area of Brandon, where a caller stated that a JEFFERY OZENE GERMANY took his wife away from her residence at gunpoint. The caller stated that GERMANY, armed with a shotgun, was making threats on the victim’s life. Deputies responded to the area and immediately began a search for GERMANY. GERMANY’S vehicle was found abandoned nearby and tracking dogs were immediately called to the scene. A short time later deputies were able to locate and secure the victim who reported that GERMANY was still in the woods and still armed with the shotgun. Deputies established a perimeter and continued a search of the area until GERMANY was eventually spotted near the Castlewoods County Club golf course. GERMANY was taken into custody without incident.
GERMANY was transported to the Rankin County Jail where he was charged with aggravated domestic violence, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. GERMANY was presented to Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow by District Attorney Bubba Bramlett for an initial appearance where he was denied bond.

Wife & police were very lucky. Could have turned out like the Edgar Egbert case.
Let us see how Morrow measures up to McDaniel in his willingness to let shit like this happen. Kent would have slapped this dude with a decade reservation in the Extend a stay hotel, jail for you Jackson residents.
He took the “TIL DEATH DO US PART” portion of the vows a little too serious, eh?
So much crime seems to be happening in Rankin county now days. Maybe it’s the frustration of all the houses looking alike
LE in Rankin pass up many chances to use deadly force. Must have excellent dogs.
Marsman road is in an area where houses are on acreage an they don't look the same. Yes the dog are really good and get to help out other jurisdictions when needed. This guy has always been a nutcase.
At least it wasn’t in Jackson, she would’ve been found dead after JPD responded 8 hours later.
It runs in the family.... they have all been in trouble with the law. Daddy, brother .... and the mother is bat$&!? crazy too!
His wife had a shotgun?
Guess he enjoyed prison enough to go back.
RCSO has some of the best K9's in the state.
