WARNING: VIOLENT & GRAPHIC CONTENT POSTED BELOW!
The staccato of gunfire shattered Brad Sullivan's life on a September morning two years ago as a crazed Edgar Egbert attacked his pursuing Madison County deputies with a full – automatic rifle. Egbert wounded Deputy Sullivan, leaving him partially paralyzed.
Egbert began his rampage in Jackson where he met his ex-wife and Cipriani Theiron at Walgreens on September 5, 2019. Egbert kidnapped Therion and took him to his
isolated Madison County home where he chained the victim to the bed. The
ex-wife reported the kidnapping to the police.
Deputies arrived at his home but Egbert fled in his Jeep Wrangler. A
high-speed chase ensued but deputies managed to stop the vehicle by
throwing spike strips in its path. Stopped but not beaten, the former
Marine firearms instructor fired 100 rounds at the pursuing deputies with a full – automatic rifle. Two rounds struck
Deputy Brad Sullivan in the head while and another deputy in the
arm. Most of his rounds struck either the windows or the doors of law enforcement vehicles. It was quite clear Egbert was trying to kill cops. Sullivan barely survived and spent months recovering in the
hospital.
A prosecutor later said Egbert tried to execute an entire shift of Madison County deputies.
JJ obtained copies of the dash-cam videos of Deputy Graves, Madison County Deputy, and Deputy Sullivan. The videos show little actual violence and no deputies suffering injuries. However, the audio is a different story as it opens with the staccato sound of machine gun fire echoing through the fields of Madison County. It shows the surprise visited upon the deputies when Egbert fired upon them. Curses fill the air as deputies scrambled for cover while trying to return fire.
Sheriff Randy Tucker said the automatic gunfire caught them completely by surprise. The Sheriff said he and eight or nine other deputies pursued Egbert. They immediately took cover and returned fire until they subdued Egbert..
The first video below shows Deputy Sullivan chasing Egbert. He comes upon Egbert only to immediately shift his SUV into reverse and drive backwards as fast as possible. His attempt to escape Egbert's rampage was too late as several rounds penetrated his windshield, striking him in the head. The video does not show the actual bullet holes, but only cracks in the windshield.
The rapid deadly rhythm of gunfire continued for 30 seconds after Deputy Sullivan went down. Those horrific seconds must have seemed an eternity to the sheltering deputies. Three minutes passed before his brother deputies could provide aid.
The stricken deputy calls out to his friends (4:15) that he is hurt. "We have one hurt," a deputy screams over and over as he covers Deputy Sullivan. Sullivan cries out to "Joel" that "I am hurting all over." Punctuating the morning's horror, smoke eerily covers the environment after Egbert shot up a propane gas tank while Deputy Sullivan screams in agony "I can't move" as deputies tried to help him.
The video posted below shows Madison County Deputy Scott Graves. Deputy Graves came within inches of losing his life. He pursued the would–be cop killer down Highway 16 but was suddenly met with a hail of bullets. Smoke arose from the engine as Egbert fired several rounds into the windshield, wounding Deputy Graves. He was treated and released released from the hospital later that day. There is no sound in the video.
The video posted below shows the initial pandemonium as deputies reacted to the shock of automatic gunfire. Deputy Sullivan's SUV flew into reverse as his fellow deputies quickly turn around and set up a perimeter.
Madison County Circuit Judge John Emfinger sentenced Edgar Egbert to serve six consecutive 35-year terms in prison after Egbert pleaded guilty to six counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Kingfish note: Deputy Sullivan's friends are trying to raise money to build a special home for him. He is partially paralyzed and needs a home to accommodate his special needs. Gofundmepage.

This need should be brought to the attention of Tunnel to Towers. I've tried. Maybe KF's influence could help. I think he qualifies as a disabled first responder.
Was it a legal, transferrable machine gun, or an illegally modified gun into a machine gun?
He was an armorer. He knew how to convert.
They need to hang Edgar Egbert. I will be happy to pull the hangman level if they need someone to send this guy to Hell.
The campaign is utilizing multiple fundraising arms—GoFundMe, PayPal, and they accept checks. Check out their website at www.ahomeforbrad.org. At last check they were approaching $70,000 raised and ground has been broken. Please donate if you can.
@12:46
You talk tough on the internet but I suspect that you would experience the full meaning of the word “bitch” if you were left alone with Egbert.
The entire encounter took place because he subdued the thug who broke up his marriage while he was at working to support his family.
"The entire encounter took place because he subdued the thug who broke up his marriage while he was at working to support his family."
So this makes it OK to do what he did? GTF out of here.
@1:53
Nope. Never said that.
That was never even implied.
Just stating the fact that he has more cojónes than any of you.
That's exactly what you said 1:05. Justifying what that piece of sh!t did won't get you anywhere.
King Fish you sure do love going for the dramatic don’t you? A FULL AUTOMATIC!!! As though the gun itself committed this crime. It didn’t. A deranged man who lost his senses shot the officer’s. And in his state of mind he would have hurt people had he just had a pitch fork. Let me assure you that a marine would have killed police had he used the select fire for single shot. How about less emphasis on the weapon and more emphasis on the criminal!!
@1:05 and @2:16 Edgar, I didn't know they gave y'all access to the internet in prison.
I guess we shouldn't be surprised.
1:05 PM / 2:16 PM You're defending EGBERT??? Who are you, his mother???
F***ing A, that was intense. Too bad return fire didn’t cause Egbert to ‘succumb.’
What does this even mean??? :
"The entire encounter took place because he subdued the thug who broke up his marriage while he was at working to support his family."
Yeah it takes a lot of cojones to ambush somebody and cripple them. Sounds pretty chickenshit to me.
@2:16pm - I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that his ex-wife probably had good reason to be an ex-wife to some mother fucker who ultimately decided it was a good idea to shoot up the police.
That first video literally has me clinching my teeth. I have a whole new level of admiration for that team of brothers and how they looked out for one another. And kudos to Joey Butler. He’s the one talking to Brad in the top video telling him that his injuries were “superficial.” Joey could clearly see that Brad had taken bullets to the head. But he wrapped his arm to try to create a diversion. Brad keeps asking to have his eye wiped. It’s pooling with blood because of two bullets to the head. All while Joey is telling him to toughen up and be ready to get back to work. That took a calm spirit and I suspect went a long way to keeping Brad from panicking.
I’m so grateful to have men like these looking after our citizens. Thank you to all who wear the badge.
@1:05. Sure sounds like you’re trying to justify or “logic away” his attacks. Doesn’t matter. Egbert was wrong, just as your statement is.
Listen closely in first video. too bad they didn't do what the officer said. Listen closely.
'Cojones'? Show me a psychiatrist on earth who would document the file of a deranged, would-be multiple-cop-killer by stating 'Patient really had some cojones'. The very word 'cojones', over the past fifty or so years has come to mean someone displaying rare bravery in the face of personal sacrifice and disregard for 'self'.
My guess is he probably had a serious case of 'penis envy' rather than 'cojones'. The only cojones displayed during this entire scenario were owned by the guys in black and whites and their backups.
You do know Egbert was trying to purposely get "death by cop" don't you? Otherwise, he'd have shot them all.
@7:12am he was not trying to die by cop. If he was then why did he give his coward ass up when he got wounded! Wrong assessment!
Thanks for posting KF
For those that choose to make fun of or look down on our First Responders and the jobs they do whether is law enforcement, fire fighters, medics......these videos should serve as a damn good lesson of the jobs these men and women get up and do every day and what they may face.
No matter what your station in life is,how much money you do or dont make...these are the people that are coming to you when called. Good or bad situation rest assured they're coming.
Let these videos sink in.......
And then they go back to work the next day...
It bears repeating over and over: no one knows what someone else is dealing with. Everyone you meet is either headed into, in the middle of, or just coming out of some personal/family/professional crisis, so please give each other the benefit of the doubt and treat each other with kindness. You never know when you'll need someone to cut you a little slack, too.
shit like this is why i take the cop's side and give them the benefit of the doubt in all situations until and unless there is clear evidence to the contrary.
"I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand the post." Stay strong Brad.
Pretty impressive that Sullivan was able to maintain normal respiratory rate. I’ve read AMR reports of people that failed in suicide attempts, and their vitals are never stable.
6:14 - the only thing stranger than your post is the fact that it hit the board.
You should've seen the comments I didn't approve. There were some sick ones praising Egbert.
