15 year old, not 19.
Hard to envision this as the area in which I was growing up 50 years ago. Times change. Societies and cultures crumble.
Dead kids and closed restaurants for Christmas. This is what you voted for Jackson.

Follow the law.
Wait and have kids until you are emotionally and financially ready to take care of them.
Find a profession you are good at and become a expert.
Don’t put harmful things in your body. ( excessive alcohol, drugs and fatty foods).
Love your neighbor.
Hey Donna and Lumumba. Please feel free to step up to the mic and explain this. You both keep saying crime isn’t an issue in Jackson. I am beginning to think you are lying.
Gives credence to the earlier post on the UMMC statement. Kids really are safer in school!
126.....
It’s not even safe in your own home in Jackson. These idiots shoot right into the residence. Get a job and make something out of yourself!
#125 - I guess that Real Time Crime Center hasn't kicked in yet.
That area of Jackson is growing to become a real hot bed, not that Jackson in general doesn’t qualify, for murder. Likely “hood” related but some kid won’t make it home tonight. Fifteen? Shame on you Jackson and the administration to allow this to continue. Will anyone ever get voted out?
Succumbed to his injuries. I respect cop talk for that choice of words. I can’t imagine watching a kid suck in his last desperate breaths at an ihop. What a waste.
#126 tonight.
7:04 PM, yes this is exactly what was voted for; but,
keep in mind the people voting are not the enemy. Can you imagine being born into this situation? Rather than beating the poor people/voters up, all of us that weren’t should be on our knees giving sincere thanks that we were not.
Nobody wants to admit it, and those that do find it very hard to acknowledge why these senseless crimes are “tolerated” (“tolerated” is not the right word but is being used in order to increase the odds that censorship of this post will not occur).
A business associate that only recently learned and came to understand what some of us have been saying for years (why high crime in places like Jackson is “tolerated”) recently texted an article,
“40 Acres and a Mall” by David Cole (a Beverly Hills writer).
I’ve never heard of or read anything by David Cole until 7 days ago; and while he, IMO, crosses a line in the first part of the article, if you will read the last half of the article, Cole at least “starts to explain” why these high crime inner cities continue on this senseless path of evil.
This is a very uncomfortable topic, and those programmed to believe (especially the younger generations not around in the 1960’s) that anyone criticizing Democrat’s is a racist…verses the true definition of racism being…hating someone just because of their skin color, etc…will swiftly denounce it.
But, as the saying goes:
“Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
Well this path will not change until the dumbass excuses are terminated and the real root cause I is addressed. Antard "you know" Ladumba loves to get in front of the camera and blame covid and talk about cameras. It is a cultural problem.
May want to insure your kid as well.
5:38 - very insightful - I think. Some(I repeat SOME) of the actions of those we are talking about can be understood due to their circumstances. I can understand children growing up without being taught manners or having an appreciation for an education. But these senseless killings - you will never convince me there is an excuse/reason of any type. This is a culture in a death spiral and I don't think there is a thing anyone can do about it. I am disgusted that no one will identify those at fault. And yes, we must tread lightly or we'll be censored on the site. KF can't wait to post these murders, but he certainly discourages meaningful conversation about their cause.
The city council is far more interested in protecting criminals who commit crimes in other areas & then try to escape by making police chase them into Jackson which leaders want to be a safe haven for thuggery.
"Can you imagine being born into this situation?"
Exactly right. I was adopted as a new born to a set of parents who fed, clothed, educated, provided health care and much more. They taught me manners too. My upbringing was not perfect, but I thank G-d every day that I was given the opportunities that I was. (I also thank the Lord for being born in the USA). If I had not been adopted I may have been raised by a single mother or become an aborted fetus.
It may be considered "racist" to say but ANYONE in the USA has the opportunity to work themselves out of poverty or other adverse circumstances, but one must have the willingness and drive to do so. I often wonder what I would have become had my circumstances been different.
Okay, I am a big boy and you all can go ahead and flame me and tell me where I am wrong.
Awaiting comments.
The covid irony. Let the convicts out but issue stay at home orders to families.
11:06 = agree!!! I'm sick of all the excuses/reasons, wallowing in the past, blaming someone else.
A problem will never be solved if the premise of its etiology is inaccurate. Explanations of causation should not be accepted as excuses. Abdication of responsibility and accountability for maladaptive behavior ---be it immoral, unethical or criminal, will never yield positive results. Neither will demonizing those involved, or promoting a position of "victim-hood". Strategic intervention that utilizes truth telling which accurately defines the problem, should be the first step and the foundation for program development.
5:38 AM
After reading that article I get a sense of wanting the policies that Jackson has. Namely the minority policy for any project in Jackson.
For his faults, Lumumba is only half wrong. He wants social work for children which is commendable because after a certain age you can't undo a fucked up home life. You can only mitigate the damage. But that doesn't solve the current problem of shootings. In this case the shooting of a teenager who still had the capability to become a productive citizen.
I hate it for those that loved this kid.
But the reality is this just a normal day in the Capitol City.
And no . . . I'm not being callous . . . only pragmatic.
8:41AM & 3:03PM, I will tread lightly in order for this post to make it.
Read and research Robert “Bob” Woodson (The Woodson Center).
Mr. Woodson is an 83 year old African-American, and one of the original civi right leaders that chose truth over race hustling.
Mr. Woodson points out that in the past 50 years, 22 trillion has been spent on poverty programs.
However, 70% of that 22 trillion WENT NOT TO THE POOR, BUT TO THOSE SERVING THE POOR.
And therein lies the message: what would happen to those earning the 70%, if poor people were taught how not to be poor.
Read and research Shelby Steele.
Mr. Steele is a 74 year old African-American and self described former militant during the civil right era.
If you have Amazon Prime, spend the $19.99 for Mr. Steele’s video
“What Killed Michael Brown” (billionaire Bezos tried to censor it but Steele persisted until it was offered and the shit eater Bezos gets 1/2; but trust me, it’s worth it).
Again, I have to tread lightly so I can’t blurt it out, but there is a reason for the inner cities staying high crime and do not let anyone tell you it is because of the poor people.
It’s a tactic.
American astronauts traveled to the moon and back, 477,000 + miles, in less than 9 days over 50 years ago.
So do not let anyone ever tell you that the inner city crime problem is not fixable.
I saw an FB post recently from a female that was carjacked last week in Ridgeland.
Zero comments about holding elected officials accountable or how they need to come together to improve the community...but several comments about how the victim should "sue the apartment complex for not being safe and letting this happen".
I see little hope of improvement when the group mindset cannot see the real problem and the voters will whine and complain as business leave and apartment complex owners abandon properties with insurmountable taxes and insurance costs.
Total lack of Fathers in the home!
" Hey Donna and Lumumba. Please feel free to step up to the mic and explain this. You both keep saying crime isn’t an issue in Jackson. I am beginning to think you are lying."
Please don't hold your breath waiting for their reaction.
Baby Chock seems to be concerned with his haircut and placing more restrictions on Jackson businesses.
Ladd has an unnatural obsession with ancient history at Ole Miss.
Look at KF.
Still preying on tragedy to receive clicks.
Some shameful shit.
