Zundria Crawford's attempt to throw everyone in jail last week went down in flames in the courtroom of Hinds County Court Judge Kenneth Lewis. Ms. Crawford filed criminal charges against all Supreme Court Justices, a former Sheriff, a Chancery Clerk, Judges, and several clerks in March.
Ms. Crawford failed the bar exam in 2015 but instead of re-taking the test,
she sued the Mississippi Bar. Crawford sued and lost in Hinds County Chancery Court. Denise Owens was the Chancellor. She appealed to the Supreme Court in 2018. Ms. Crawford repeatedly accused the Justices of bias and corruption as she filed
motions for recusal. After losing one such motion, she filed a motion
for reconsideration in June. The Court denied the motion and ordered
her to submit a brief within 45 days after July 29. Ignoring the Court,
she filed several motions to show cause, reconsideration, and
suspension of the briefing schedule on September 3. The motion was filled with threats, curse words, and insults to the Court. She even threatened to "proceed to beat y'all's asses unconscious." Earlier post.
The Court rejected her motions on October 12 and ordered her to submit a brief within 14 days. She failed to do submit such a brief so the Court dismissed her appeal last week.
However, there was the matter of the pending criminal charges. Ms. Crawford filed no less than 28 charges against 20 public officials and clerks in March. She charged the Justices and former Chief Justice Bill Waller, Jr. of failure to perform their duties under Section 97-11-35 of the Mississippi Code. That section states:
If any person, being sheriff, clerk of any court, constable, assessor, or collector of taxes, or holding any county office whatever, or mayor, marshal, or constable, or any other officer of any city, town, or village, shall knowingly or wilfully fail, neglect, or refuse to perform any of the duties required of him by law, or shall fail or refuse to keep any record required to be kept by law, or shall secrete the same, or shall violate his duty in any respect, he shall, on conviction thereof, be fined not exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($ 1,000.00), or be imprisoned in the county jail not exceeding six (6) months, or both.
Her affidavit against Justice Leslie King charges that on September 6, 2019, Justice King allegedly violated Section 97-11-35 when
he received "notice" and/or obtained "knowledge" of certain criminal offenses committed by certain Hinds County public officers and officials and Jeremy Whitmire (MS Supreme Ct Clerk) that arose out of my civil action (pending Supreme Court appeal of Crawford v. Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions) as further explained by the attachments and failed to "return" them.
The affidavits against the other Justices repeat the same charge. She makes the same charge against Linda Knight, Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions Administrator but alleges Ms. Knight "refused to provide to me certain certified copies of certain meeting minutes of the Miss. Board of Bar Admissions (with prepayment enclosed.)."
Valarie Moton, Hinds County Chancery Court Clerk, earned Ms. Crawford's ire by allegedly miscalculating the transcript preparation fee" and "intentionally did not send me notice which caused my civil action to be dismissed."
Former Sheriff Victor Mason might be gone but is not forgotten by the Bar Reject. She alleges in her criminal complaint against him that he "failed to return certain criminal offenders that includes certain Hinds County public officers/officials, Jeremy Whitmire, and certain judges for criminal charges in what also demonstrates organized public corruption that arose out of my Supreme Court appeal." Chancery Clerk Eddie Jean Carr and former Hinds County Supervisor Peggy Hobson-Calhoun received similar attention as well. Chancellor Owens got three such complaints while the court reporter got a couple as well.
Ms. Crawford filed charges against:
Valerie Moton, Hinds County Chancery Court Clerk (Fail, neglect, or refuse to perform duties)
Justice Leslie King, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Justice James Maxwell, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Justice James Kitchens, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Linda Knight, Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions Administrator (Neglect/refused certified copy)
Justice Kenny Griffis, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Justice Robert Chamberlin, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Jeremy Whitmire, Mississippi Supreme Court Clerk (Failure, neglect or refuse to perform duties)
Victor Mason, Former Hinds County Sheriff (Failure to return offenders)
Peggy Hobson-Calhoun, Former Hinds County Supervisor (Failure to return offenders)
Justice Dawn Beam, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Justice Josiah Coleman, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Justice Mike Randolph, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Former Justice Bill Waller, Jr., Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Judge David Strong, 14th Judicial District (Failure to return offenders)
Justice David Ishee, Mississippi Supreme Court (Failure to return offenders)
Eddie Jean Carr, Hinds County Chancery Clerk (Fail, neglect, or refused to perform duties)
Chancellor Denise Sweet-Owens, Hinds County Chancery Court (Failure to return offenders)
Tracy Graves, Administrator of Mississippi Board of Certified Court Reporters (Neglect, refused to give)
Vanessa Addison, HInds County Chancery Court Reporter (Willful neglect duty, penalty)
Judge Lewis dismissed all charges last Thursday. Ms. Crawford tried to argue the Judge was not legally qualified to hear her case since he is not a lawyer but that familiar tactic failed as it always does.
The complaints and judgments are posted below.
* Sorry, it was the best I could do.

Am I the only one that feels a bit sorry for this person? Maybe she is suffering from a mental illness?
You could have posted the Will Ferrell clip in Wedding Crashers: "What an Idiot"

Looking pretty obvious that this person is going to hurt herself or someone else or both.
She definitely needs one of those vaccines that inoculates the stupid out of a person.
We have nuts like her in every walk of life, including the legal profession. Because it is a public service it is supposedly well-regulated by the state through the bar association. Sometimes they slip through, as we have seen in other cases, sometimes they do not. Fortunately (luckily) this time the bar got the job done. Iffy at best.
Of all judges in Hinds County, she got stuck with the wrong judge for such friviosity.
Was she the one in Maywood parking lot too!
@10:27am - Frivolity perhaps?

Hate to disagree with you, but from what I've seen, being admitted is a low "bar" and it takes a lot to get disbarred. Pun intended.
a drain on the taxpaying public-
This young lady needs a “timeout “.
I think Trump has just found his new attorney general. She is the perfect mix of unwaveringly crazy that he is looking for.
Is there no one in this poor woman's life being honest with her? She is making a fool of herself, and likely doing it in the name of "wokeness" and "race." How very sad...
@11:17am - Sorry, she’s not white male enough.
Her parents would show up at lower court hearings and egg on her behavior, so this victim-type behavior has been learned. She has too much behavioral inertia to change. Hopefully, she can pass another state's bar exam and become their problem.
What idiot would want her as an attorney anyway, even if she does pass the bar exam? Nevermind, there's Carlos the Clown for that crowd.
Don’t be so dismissive. What’s crazy today may be considered normal tomorrow. Welcome to the asylum.
This woman needs mental health care as soon as possible. Or else she will end up living under one of the I-55 N bridges.
Looks like solid legal ground to me.
@Mr. Gambini - she should just practice law without a license like you did...
Bridge dwellers need representation too 12:53.
"Am I the only one that feels a bit sorry for this person? Maybe she is suffering from a mental illness?"
Ya think ?
Yeah, she is in need of help.
And while it's easy to laugh, it's also sad.
I hope this woman also receives the help she needs.
3:09 - Really? Give me a break. I am sick, sick, sick of "mental issues" being blamed on what most would call abnormal behavior. She is just an extreme case of the "entitlement syndrome".
She is also trying to throw people in jail. That probably limits the sympathy factor.
No doubt KF.
But she's sick.
I was just saying get her in a facility somewhere and off the street.
Bat Shit Crazy does not require a ventilator.
So Dobbs can't say she would be taking up "covid beds".
Unfortunately, 12;52 is SO right! What she's done (and continues to do) would have been considered Un. Think. Able, not that long ago. Why the court system hasn't punished her for, well, most of her actions, is beyond me. I guess certain people are considered to be untouchable these days.....irrespective of how much harm they do to our well-established, time-tested systems.
Believe me, her actions have emboldened someone........
Mentally ill? More likely she just wants her free shit without paying her dues.
It worked out pretty good for me. Who's her script writer?
"What we tolerate, we encourage".
"Maybe she is suffering from a mental illness?" You say Maybe? Maybe?? Seriously? I think you hit it right on the head.
I'll go with 'friviosity' for $200, Alex....
Do each one of those people have to hire attorneys to answer his/her complaint? If so she'd be getting served by me.
I wonder if she will invited to give the commencement speech for the next graduating class at her alma mater????
