Check out Ole Miss's new social justice polices for the Grad School that appeared on the Ole Miss Grad School website yesterday. They magically disappeared this morning but not before yours truly managed to screen save them. Watering down is in, testing is out as merit will count for naught. Check them out.
Check out footnote C. It's a good one. Everything is racist so everything must be changed or abolished. Got it. This is going to be interesting to watch. Stay tuned.

People think the Public Universities in Mississippi are Conservative. Big lie. After the election "Mississippi Today" said Oktibbeha County where MSU sits was the only majority White county in Mississippi to vote for Mike Espy. They also voted for Biden. Liberal Mississippi headed your way.
A 55 gallon drum full of white guilt
There was a big mistake made in the first part. All of those people were not murdered. Has it come to the point that when a black person dies of a heart attack some white person should be charged with murder?
How about a few names of the small children killed in Jackson by other blacks?
Mississippi Today is a joke. Bunch of duped youngs and has-beens. But they pay Marshall handsomely to do their bidding.
Summation: all blacks will be accepted and rubber stamped through all programs at the expense of others.
My Yankee friends love bringing up how their ancestors paid in blood for the sin of slavery. Apparently the Union dead are no longer enough and they need to pay more.
@10:42 AM "conservative university" is an oxymoron.
Are we trying our best to run off potential students. This was a hard read, but I managed to get through it. IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE, and this starts at the top. Look at enrollment, look at contributions, it is not hard to see. This is not the school Archie and Eli went to.
I wouldn't want to attend a university that puts the importance of one race above all other races.
Ole Miss should put its money where it's mouth is. If any of these minority students flunk out because they should not have been there in the first place, then Ole Miss should pay off the student loans they incurred thanks to Ole Miss's admission.
MC Law pulled this crap back in the 90's. School's main problem was if a black college student had a very good GPA and did well on the LSAT, the Vanderbilts and Tulanes were going to grab that student. So MC Law was usually with the black students who probably shouldn't have been there. However, MC wasn't doing them any favors in pursuing diversity at all costs. Several would flunk out after the first semester or the first year. Now they owed a bunch of money in student loans. Then when it came time for the bar, ugh. One class had six blacks take the bar. Five failed. One did great but he was #2 in the class and went to Butler Snow. So all those poor students had no license but a stack of promissory notes.
MC's response (Really, Dean Hurt) was to lower the standards. If you were "at risk" and an entering student, he watered down the first year curriculum. One class could be taken during the summer before everyone else started in August. Another class was removed from the fall schedule. They didn't have to take app ad in the second semester. They received extra tutoring.
Of course, MC Law didn't dare cover their student loans after flunking them out.
KKKingfish is showing his racism again.
whites score better on standardized tests because of white privilege. Like poll tests, the questions always contain a racial bias toward whites.
Universities need to learn how to teach underprivileged students of color and elevate them instead of subjecting them to more racist standards.
African Americans have always had to work twice as hard for the same job with less pay. All the while facing microaggressions in professional spaces due to their hair and fashion. It is long past due time for a change. And past time for white males specifically, to get a taste of their own medicine.
Meaningful insight on MC, KF... thanks for that. However, why didn't you capitalize the B? Surely that is now correct rule of Oxford English.
DEFUND the University of Mississippi. It has an endowment of several hundred million dollars, let it live off that.
Bullshit. Grad school means you passed at least four years of higher education. Either you are educated or you are not educated. Period. If you didn't learn that much in college, then grad school isn't for you.
KKKingfish is showing his racism again.
Thankkks for reading, kkkommenting and paying the bills!!!
Has the UM grad school acknowledged that this is their official policy statement? Some Black agitators will put up racist signs and nooses to incite the "movement" to action, responding to a "racist threat". Who actually posted this "policy" and why was it removed so fast? Just askin'.
Official? It was on their damn website yesterday. Don't get more official than that.
No sane (non-Democrat), Christian, educated (a true education), or decent individual should ever donate a dime to any college or university (excepting Hillsdale, Grove City, Liberty and the very few truly conservative institutions). They have all aged out.
The sins of the past... Ole Miss will forever be defending itself in the liberal academic world. In order that the professors be taken seriously at
that historically racist institution they must show extra effort to correct past injustices so their peers can marvel at their "progress". Just for show.
Mississippi Today is a liberal wet noodle rag. Bobby, Rick and the rest of the sobbing limp-wristed leftists can suck it.
New Graduate Courses:
Virtue Signaling 101
White Guilt 1A
Raising the Race Card 1B
11:19- Yeah, that’s what I want. A black doctor that shouldn’t have been there in the first place and was given credentials just because of his or her skin color.
Can’t compete? Cry racism.
F off.
These type of policies will only leave the students with a big pile of debt and a lack of applicable skills for the marketplace. These course will be taught by academics with no real world experience. What these students need is a solid dose of hardcore economics and reality. That will prepare them for tough jobs and a tough economy. This crap will only perpetuate the cycle and make them more frustrated when they are jobless.
A four year degree in six, and in what?
Hey KF... my experience going through UMMC medical school in mid 90's sounded exactly like your law school experience... except when UMMC "graduates" them...they get to go hurt patients.
Fortunately there was a national test called USMLE which was a hard hurdle one had to pass to progress twds being a licensed MD. Those tests culled out most of the AAs that UMMC admin shouldnt have let in in the first place. The whole thing was a mess. UMMC would let in completely unqualified AA students in the name of diversity. UMMC would then baby them along passing them up dutifully as sure as many public schools pass their students into the next grade. Then the USMLE "step" exams would come and clean their clocks. UMMC could say " hey we did everything we could!" and USMLE would do UMMC's job and weed them out.
Now...I've heard they are getting rid of the USMLE.....
11:16 evidently you know nothing about pollilng, unless of course your education came from the Brad Chism school of polling for your client. Good polls take don't want their polls skewed because of race other than to match the demographic that they are trying to determine leaning.
But more important, it is not the responsibility of a University to bring the students up to the level needed to survive in a university. That is the job of the lower levels of education - K through 12 particularly. To think that the job of a Community College is to teach remedial education is wrong, but to carry it to your level is stupidity.
Universities exist to teach Higher Education. Not to prepare a student for Higher Education. If a kid can't make it because of the earlier years of education (for example, being a grad of JPS) they don't need to be in a University. Plenty of other routes for making a living, other than getting a student loan for no good purpose and hoping that the Democrats will wipe out the unpaid loan which means of course the folks that are actually working and paying taxes will pay for that wasted few years spent in "college".
I retired after 38 years in academia. You can bet if the dean of graduate school and/or provost (or whatever the chief academic officer is called now) does not decide to step down and go back to "faculty" that this statement was approved by the top tiers of the administration... The only reason it was removed was simply too much push back from financial supporters and then the chancellor will be looking for someone to blame.
College applications and job applications should have no place on them for sex or race. If there is a job it should go to the best qualified. Race or sex should not matter. Same is true of college applications. The preference should be on those best qualified.
Why should any company hire a less qualified person for any job? Why should any person be allowed in college unless they can pass the entrance exams?
Our country is slowly going to hell. It is picking up speed because of the people demanding jobs and applying to colleges that they are not qualified for.
There is no way a group of people will ever learn how to compete if they are continually allowed to do less than other people.
I had no idea that Jackson Jambalaya was so racist. I guess you are really going for the “angry white male boomer” market. Here is a tip for you, Kingfish. That demographic only has 10 years max left to live. Fewer if the try to forcefully overthrow a duly elected President.
1:05- You are correct. And, what makes this even more disgusting is that these seats that are GIVEN to AA’s that can’t compete and complete the rigors of this training, are being taken from deserving students of other races. How would you feel if you worked hard, applied yourself, and you slot was GIVEN to someone based on their race. Affirmative action is evil and disgusting.
Unofficial shit gets posted on websites everyday.
Dumb it down to the lowest common denominator. Not every person is meant to be a scholar or brain surgeon, but I guess anyone can be a higher education employee.
1:21- So people are “racist” if they want equal treatment under the law? Gotcha.
As an alumnus at UM, I’m happy that they seem to finally be trying to make meaningful improvements for the black students. The state has a very large African American population and our universities and state government should proudly represent them. Kick and scream all you want, but this is a positive step. If you think white people will be unfairly discriminated against as a result or are in some way the victim, then you don’t belong in higher education.
As a University employee, I can tell you that most webpages are controlled within the department and can be edited by multiple employees / students. No way such a policy would pass scrutiny with an internal legal review. Easy way to get in trouble with the Feds
My guess is someone edited the page without permission. Especially since the schools have been closed since the 23rd.
It all depends on relative priorities. If a certain group has relative value to the university or the state, they will be favored, whether it means remedial courses, or favorable admission. White, Black, Red, polka-dot or whatever, If your family is rich enough they'll find a way. If we need five star football players we'll find a way to get you in school and keep you eligible. Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU, USC, Jackson State, Hinds CC, or the Little Red school house. It's all relative. Do we need you? Yes, We'll find a way.
Always have.
Meritocracy...Where?
@1:12 - Any group of people will theoretically be smarter and more effective if they are diverse. You need people that come from different backgrounds and cultures to address the issues of a diverse nation. Why would a university or company limit themselves to one perspective?
"Hey, so don't that make you feel a whole lot better, huh? (Huh?)
Say, don't that make you feel a lot better?
What you say?
Well, I'm just askin'"
B52s - Dance This Mess Around
Obviously Ole Miss is racist. They'd never reward black success, merit and achievement. Just look at the football and basketball teams if you don't believe me.
Does this apply to the UMC graduate programs? School of Health Related Professions (OT, PT, etc)?
“When people get used to preferential treatment, equal treatment seems like discrimination.”
― Thomas Sowell PhD
So what?? After reading the release, it’s clear this is the biggest non-story ever. That is, except to your red-meat snowflake base you’re currently pandering to.
Try posting something of substance that isn’t mean to rial up people who scream at the TV whenever President-elect Biden comes on. You might be surprised at how good it feels.
"When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear."
"Racism does not have a good track record. It's been tried out for a long time and you'd think by now we'd want to put an end to it instead of putting it under new management."
Thomas Sowell PhD
Thomas Sowell was debunked long ago as an apologist shill for white supremacy and the anti-equality policies GOP.
Try paying more attention to Neil DeGrasse Tyson or Henry Louis Gates instead of sniffing your own racist farts.
KingFish...my gosh...Cccccc'monnnn maaannnn!
You REALLY are so full of sh*t if you think that Ole Miss is racist in comparison to where you wore your square hat & tassle at graduation. You are simply a racist RUBE of the worst kind. You need to crawl back in your hole...but wear that mask while sitting alone there, please.
December 31, 2020 at 2:27 PM = YYaaawwwwwnnnn, SSSssnnoorreee, ZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzz
Henry Gates? The guy who defended the OJ verdict?
Affirmative action is a court ordered remedy designed to redress the fact and effects of past discrimination. It was invented because the courts HAD to recognize how utterly ridiculous it would be to admit discrimination amounting to governmental theft from an identifiable segment of citizens and then only ordering an apology to those citizens and a promise to "never do it again". So certain programs designed to afford Opportunity to the offended group were enacted. Naturally the politicians pandered to the majority and called it "reverse discrimination". Many black activists agreed and said forget affirmative action, just give us the cash judgment, as in any civil suit, i.e. reparations. After all it was certainly a class action. Well, too expensive, that won't work either so what do we do?
We do what politicians always do, they try to do one thing while saying something else. Keep juggling those balls. Whites are told they are victims of reverse discrimination, Blacks are told you will never get justice unless the government gives it to you. What do you want to hear?
Yeah Kingfish. And the guy who was harassed in front of his own home by a white police officer simply because he was black man in an affluent neighborhood.
You will never know what it is like to be a Black man in America. The injustice and equality faced on a daily basis. Can't even go shopping for groceries without noticing the "loss prevention guys" following you.
And then driving home from the grocery store means you have to be extra careful or else you could have another potentially deadly encounter with a short, stupid, white cop with a chip on his shoulder.
Always admired Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams.
The University of Mississippi would like everyone to believe they're "woke".
But they still refer to themselves in the old slave vernacular . . . "Ole Miss".
Their sports teams are still named the "Rebels".
(In honor of those old evil Confederates).
But, But, But . . . they got rid of the Confederate Battle flag, they stopped playing "Dixie" and they replaced a mascot that was Col. Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame's big brother.
They even moved a statue !!!!
Yes . . . MOVED A STATUE even !
Athletics is the only thing bringing money to Oxford.
Socialist Capitalism hypocrisy at it's best.
You know, I did say if Ole Miss wants to go down this path, then it should reimburse the students accepted on weaker criteria over students with stronger record. That way if they have to borrow the money to attend grad school, then Ole Miss should cover it if they flunk out. That protects the student instead of taking advantage of him or her.
Reimburse the students with deserving records who were denied, that's the primary real injustice.
P.S. RIP Mary Ann
Just think, before Barack Obama decided he wanted be Prez, and used one of oldest political tricks in the book, divide and conquer, in order to get out the vote, we had made so, so much progress and we were getting along great.
The definition of racism today includes any fact that offends the left.
3:50- So because of that you should be MADE a doctor or lawyer? You need to go back and try to learn and understand some critical thinking. You don’t sound too intelligent.
Kf at 4:03 Why don't they owe the same reimbursement to ANY student who flunks out? It's the university's fault for admitting them in the first place, right? Ridiculous. No student, regardless of race is guaranteed a degree. Affirmative action is about OPPORTUNITY not the final result. When the result is guaranteed it IS an abuse. Black people should not be made to defend affirmative action when it is correctly implemented.
Again... All IHL schools closed December 23 and reopen Jan 4.
Who do you think uploaded this stuff, and who do you think pulled it down?
Seems more like a hack, than a policy change....
Honestly, I’m a high school graduate, never attended an Institution of Higher Learning, and I’m so damned ashamed
Of how our state has become. I’m almost speechless and wonder why I even stayed here except for the family business by which I have learned that if you are not in the top 200 plantation type of
Controlling families, then you don’t count and you not good enough. Time for them to relinquish control and let the
Hardworking people who are just as good as they are or even better , morally, have a shot at making this state a better place for all
Of us
4:30 Yeah right. And just think before Martin Luther King decided he wanted to dream we were getting along just great. So much progress. And if only that Obama had not wanted to be president and divided this nation. What gall!
Obviously you think Trump was trying to unite us all. Pound sand!
Hey @350 man you carry a lot of anger don’t you......let it got. I guess a cop asking a black to answer questions in a affluent neighborhood has to be a racist move, why blacks only commit crimes in poor neighborhoods. I grew up dirt poor and we lived in rented trailers most of my young life so save your poor ole what it’s like to be a black man in America bullshit. You reap what you sow. And those folks following you in the store, well that’s a right that blacks have earned on their own so don’t act ignorant to the fact! Oh you poor thing you may have to deal with a short stupid white cop on the way home. Maybe it’s because some blacks like to use cops as target practice, how dare they have an attitude.
Every black person and every white person has the same chance to make something of themselves in America. Blaming whitey for all your woes only proves your to god damn lazy to try. I mean why try when you can burn and loot and claim racism when your asked to stop. Don’t worry the morons just voted into off office will give you everything you want. I just wonder who your gonna blame when you fuck it up.
Reading the illogical comments of the brainwashed prog millennials here makes me that much more convinced that we are headed for civil war. Knowing the historically proven outcome of the socialist path they are dragging us down, I’m ready to beat them to the punch and start the bloodletting.
If folks took a minute to really analyze the systemic racism that exists, you would understand why the Black Lives Matter Movement is needed today!
"Any group of people will theoretically be smarter and more effective if they are diverse."
You copied that right off the black board that time your company had a 'diversity consultant' come in and talk to management, right? You do realize 'theoretically' only means, "Hey, here's an interesting thought".
Affirmative action, also known as diversity, also knows as quotas doesn't make people or a group smarter or more effective. But, it does water-down the group to a lower level of mediocrity and bland esprit de corps. Hiring people with the best skill set, who give signals that they'll bring something valuable to the table and contribute to either profit or morale or both...that's what makes a group function more effectively. As long as you pissants focus on the myth of diversity for the sake of diversity, you will languish in your own world of mediocrity.
Because black people fail more tests, entrance exams and company aptitude instruments doesn't mean tests are geared toward white people. It means black people fail more tests. Find another scapegoat.
Oh; And a couple of you dunces suggest, and must think, that students are sitting at their computers, while school is closed, hacking into a departmental mission statement? Actually, the ones doing that are tenured professors, trapped in boredom, who helped draft the damned policy to begin with...You know - the ones who advocate for sticking their fingers in my salad and striking under the guise of some mythical vision of downtrodden minorities.
White guilt runs deeper than the hull of a battleship in the Pacific.
Make em pay, like the did Trump U. This is the same kind of deception.
"Thomas Sowell was debunked long ago as an apologist shill for white supremacy and the anti-equality policies GOP."
One of the oldest remedies for encountering the wisdom of a black conservative is labeling them. You know their logic and remarks are dead on, but, since you don't like those remarks and they are in conflict with your narrative, they're automatically Uncle Toms, apologists for Caucasians and sellouts who betray their melanin.
If the poster will change the word 'debunked' to 'labeled', the post will be accurate. Meaningless, but accurate. By the way, to debunk means to prove the falseness of a claim or belief. Calling Sowell an apologist shill doesn't quite achieve that.
1:24 Many of the statements of opinion you have espoused have merit. But I would ask you to please use FACTS when you bolster your argument. Affirmative action does not mean "diversity". Affirmative action is a specific policy enacted to REMEDY a problem. Perhaps you disagree with it or find that it has gone too far in some instances, but stop painting everything with which you disagree with the broad brush of ignorance. That's why we have the problems we have now.
January 1, 2021 at 10:48 AM, and you're the self-appointed arbiter? LMAO
I do not believe that webpage is real. I'd like to hear Ole Miss' response to it. While UM has definitely drifted left over the years, they cannot be stupid enough to post something like that. Its either a hack, or a draft of something that accidentally got posted and is not official policy of any sort. Or some combination of accident and hack.
Again, I'd like to hear the school's response to this. If it is real, I would be shocked.
8:19PM, comparing Barack Obama to Martin Luther King is like comparing a family so-called “charity” foundation…to Mother Teresa.
One is a scam, (really created to escape estate taxes and keep generations of their family from ever having to work a day in their privileged lives)…and the other genuinely charitable and good.
KF won’t let me post what Democrat campaigns really say about getting out “the” vote; so I will just leave it at “divide and conquer” (JJ ears are too tender for the truth).
Barack Obama set this country back a 1/2 a century with race relations and the only good part is sitting back LMAO all the fools that fell for it; especially the rich white kids raised in gated subdivisions driving fancy new cars with 30A stickers on them attending BLM protests between their beach trips and trips abroad. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@10:08
There will be no civil war despite your right wing fantasies. The right is spineless and leaderless. But you can buy guns and merchandise and subscribe to alternative media to make yourself feel better!
Stick to the plan!
You can talk all you like about "universities" generally being inherently bad/leftist, but the reality is that every institution makes a choice whether to support this nonsense.
You don't see stuff like this from MSU. Sure there's some mildly progressive stuff like supporting the new flag, but none of these wild-eyed critical race theory screeds. Unlike OM, which seems to desperately want media attention for every dumb political/racial battle, MSU generally keeps its head down, stays more or less politically neutral, and focuses on producing STEM grads with viable skills and high starting salaries.
The legislature and IHL should keep this in mind.
The term "debunked" is right out of the left-wing/progressive playbook/talking points. More examples:
1. Everyone else does it
2. That’s just part of a political smear campaign
3. That’s a right-wing conspiracy theory
4. That’s all been debunked
5. That’s just Russian disinformation
I am a product of lowering the act scores in '69 yes I went to college but had no business being there as you will see in my writing, English etc. but I did have one thing, good common thinking skills. I was a miserable student realizing how behind I was. My parents paid hard earned money to keep me there, thinking it a better path of life. I stuck it out buy the skin of my teeth. At my 50th class reunion I reunited with friends that had retired from factory, postal, labor jobs and had full interesting lives. Many of whom made good choices economical, spritual, and have been life long learners. My point--WHY do we think everyone needs college or graduate school? If our beloved country is to remain stable, we must have diversity in people and their interest. I am tired of all the racist back and forth, I am a product of Native American on both sides of my family and who knows what else-as most of our population. My Grandparents had to work hard in order to survive as Grandparents of all races, It's time to acknowledge this and stop the bickering. Individuality is the important factor and this should be taught through "brain Studies" and ancestry from K TO 12. And thats all I've got to say about that!
Just so I can know and see with my own eyes, can any of you scholars state a standardized test question from any law school that is biased towards whites? I want to read one of those questions so I, too, can be woke and more enlightened. Thanks. I’ll be waiting to read an example.
@12:29 PM sands rope again.
If I had a dollar for every time I was told, “ I am not racist or prejudice because I have a(1) black friend “, it would rival them $600 COVID checks. Most folks wouldn’t know racism if it slapped them in the face. That is why the BLM is misunderstood. No special treatment just the benefit of doubt, that you give everyone.
Fake post. Not authorized by the University. Chill haters.
I wished I had a $600 stimulus check for every time someone can’t score well on entrance exams or standardized tests And blamed it on test questions that wereracially biased. Again, please show an example of a standardized test question that is racially biased.
@12:10
Do your own research if you want the answer so badly.
This day and age though, I am not a big believer in the whole culturally-biased test thing.
The statement was made in jest. I’m fully aware of how questions are written as I taught school for many years. There are committees within districts that work on rigorous test questions for teachers to use or pull from and are available on several district and state websites. They are easy to look up and use in the classroom if needed. I know for a fact that teachers of different nationalities wrote these curriculum based questions. People who bring up the idea that testing is race/culturally biased has probably never taken a college level test. That was the point that you clearly missed.
To the person commenting on UMMC med School. Have U heard what the UMMC interview consists of last few years. 25% + is a single question asked about a book named after a man's Cabin.
I'm sure most Med Schools have this now, but in 2012, a beginning Med Student told me about his experience at a AL coastal medical School. He felt fortunate that he was turned down by UMMC with a MCAT of 32. The 9 member interview team at the Coastal Med School offered him a slot immediately after a 3 hr interview & asked if he would teach in a summer program.
The average MCAT acceptance score is around 27 if on up & up. Your Core Math/Science GPA must be 3.85 & higher (Not total GPA). Most spend months and/or pay for MCAT testing prep. Still may not get in.
This Med School has a DREAM program. Every summer for 2 years they take 20 at Risk applicants, House, Feed & PAY them to go to MCAT prep classes for 6-8 weeks. If they get an A, that week pays them 500.00. B, pays 400.00. C pays 300...paid by the week, not based on entire course grade. They can go through 2 summers of this. They make more than the Med School Residents teaching them the the classes. Then the Med School pays all testing costs.
Remember, the average MCAT acceptance score is around 27. Of the DREAM class of 20, at least 7 Med School slots are guaranteed if they score just a 20 + all tuition/costs are covered.
