Dr. Birx got caught up in her own rules and is stepping down. The Associated Press reported:
As COVID-19 cases skyrocketed before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House coronavirus response, warned Americans to “be vigilant” and limit celebrations to “your immediate household.” . . .
The day after Thanksgiving, she traveled to one of her vacation properties on Fenwick Island in Delaware. She was accompanied by three generations of her family from two households. . .
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has asked Americans not to travel over the holidays and discourages indoor activity involving members of different households. “People who do not currently live in your housing unit, such as college students who are returning home from school for the holidays, should be considered part of different households.”
Even in Birx's everyday life, there are challenges meeting that standard. She and her husband have a home in Washington. She also owns a home in nearby Potomac, Maryland, where her elderly parents, and her daughter and family live, and where Birx visits intermittently. In addition, the children's other grandmother, who is 77, also regularly travels to the Potomac house and returns to her 92-year-old husband near Baltimore.... Rest of article.
Dr. Birx resigned after the news of her travel came to light. She has been without question a dedicated public servant. The episode goes to show how difficult it is to follow the policies she and her team try to get the rest of us to follow. We are a nation of people, not a nation of robots, much as some would like the reverse to be true. Perhaps her colleagues will realize such is the case when they promulgate more Covid-19 rules.

"Civil servant" Multiple vacation homes. We taxpayers paid her $274,908 in 2018 for her dedication.

That's because they know this entire psyop is about control. And they are the rulers so the rules don't apply to them.
Cue the sheeple with their false sense of compassion pointing their bony finger of indignation. Yeah we get it. You are submissive.
The cloth masks do little and the virus only kills people with preexisting conditions.

I will admit this is true if you will admit that everyone (100%) have existing conditions.
We have a nurse friend, who cared for the Covid sick at St. D, who died in ICU at St. D. She was young and healthy. I lost a Cousin two weeks ago, who was old and very healthy. One in our SS class has died.
100% of those who die have died of heart damage and respiratory failure, or some other medical reason so I guess you are correct.
When/if this is over, there will be hundreds/thousands in the cemeteries we can walk past and say, "Wonder what killed Uncle George" They say he had Covid...."
Hope you don't get it (First, second, or third time), so we will be forced to find some other medical problem you have, if you die.
but but but the science!
Bet she's getting tired of the associated BS with this cold as well. Needed an out. Now for little Lord Anthony and crew.
Restrictions are for you, not for me. Just ask Lightfoot, Newsome, et al,
The next idea will be a monthly check to everyone so they can keep eroding the constitution. Freedoms of speech, religion and assembly are already watered down. Throw a monthly check at the lemmings and they will freely turn over more rights.
America, it was good while it lasted.
Masks for thee and not for me!
Big pharma back pocket
Gosh, @8:36, just think how much money she could have made if she had gone into private practice rather than a career in public service.
Because they know it’s bullshit
Dr. Birx is a "dedicated" SHILL for the Medical Industry. She's a "good girl", saying what powerful interests expect her to say.
@9:48
Multiple morbidly obese coworkers, ages ranged from their 30s to the 50s, tested positive and said it was like the worst flu they ever had. After they returned to work.
We all have our anecdotes.
Ghost written book in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
@11:39 AM - she hasn't practiced medicine since she was an intern 40+ years ago. She is a politically motivated bureaucrat sucking on the public teet and feeding her ego on TV.
6:13 - It's TEAT.
Imagine if all politicians would step down after being caught. Be a lot of vacancies open up.

"I will admit this is true if you will admit that everyone (100%) have existing conditions."
Sigh....Yes, it's medically true....we are all slowly dying from something within a range of about 80 years or less.
What is a civil servant? Is it someone making 5-7 times the average household income? Is it someone who doesn't have to follow the rules that they impose on the rest of us?
Tired of the word civil servant and politician being used in the same sentence. Let's reserve that title for volunteers or people who act selflessly for the greater good.
I assumed she would quit when she ran out of scarves.
Does anyone know what an "alid" is? That is the highest paid job description at the Jackson VA.
Fauci makes around 470k in his Federal advisory job alone, + bonuses & benefits including comp time.
All These people make such a sacrifice, dedicating decades of their lives to "Public Service".
News flash: Dr. Birx is human. She,had a " to hell with it, I'm tire of this" moment.
Yeah, boy...big scandal (sarcasm).
And, unlike the masses, she took a low risk since she can be assured that those in her family will get speedy and first rate care should they get CV 19.
She could also see, I suspect, that with Redfield gone and Incompetent Azar at the helm of Health, her days were numbered and so " what the hell?"...better than getting death threats from Trumpsters after a tweet.
Still laughing that so many of you think public service is more lucrative than the private sector.
Aside from not getting Fauci's salary correct, the person commenting doesn't seem to know how much money doctors typically earn once they graduate from a specialty before life long experience...especially when they are in the top of their class, not the bottom. Even in Mississippi, doctors easily earn over $300000 a year and this ain't D.C. or Maryland or Virginia.
Second news flash: a post graduate college education can earn you lots more money than a high school education if you are smart and have decent social skills.
@12-27-20 8:56...Public Records put Fauci at 470k + all benefits due to a Federal employee. That's just for his 1 advisory position he has held since Reagan's 2nd term.
The Jackson VA has Nurses pulling 120k base + OT & benefits.
The highest paid employee at 1 specific small MS Social Service office isn't the Mgr, but someone who was a window clerk 10 years ago. Their base is 112k + benefits & comps.
Because of corporate healthcare, many General Practitioners working for medical groups make over 1 million/year when their patient #s Bonus kick in. The era of Doctor's owning their own practice is gone.
JJ has access to the records. You can get most of them for 3.99 a month or less through Data Universe.

Transparentnevada.com shows 1,630,810 current employees sorted Highest paid to lowest. 10 slots on the 1st of 32,610 pages are Coaches. Multiple Las Vegas Metro PD Corrections Officers (No Rank) make 1.2-1.4 million in last 4 years.
In one of the poorest MS counties, the Dept of Agriculture Soil Conservation Agent makes 81k + benefits. Timber Corporations own almost 40% of the land.
I'd say "Public Sector" is far more lucrative.
