A video of a confrontation between a JPD officer and yewt surfaced on social media yesterday:
JPD issued a statement:
It has been brought to the attention of the Jackson Police Department and Chief James Davis that a video has surfaced of a Jackson police officer in a confrontation with a male subject. Based on the actions in the video, the officer has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.while the Mayor issued his own statement:
“After being made aware of a video that has surfaced of a Jackson Police Officer in a confrontation with an individual, the officer involved has been placed under administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation. This administration is clear that we are trying to build an approach to public safety that is about trust, collaboration, and integrity. Anything actions that do not reflect those principles have no place in the City of Jackson.”
The video doesn't show how the confrontation began or other important information. The office had no back-up and was surrounded by other individuals at one point. Nothing like bayoneting the wounded.

Why is the police officer always depicted as the bad guy? All this little wanna be thug had to do was leave when the officer first told him to. Plan and Simple! Give the officer an award and a raise!!!!
Making police officers scared to do their job is not the way to deal with crime.
Sounds like the anti law enforcement, pro criminal administration predetermined their decision. The officer needed back-up first of all and well justified for taking stronger action. Maybe that officer should move to a suburb department where he would be appreciated.
i’m sure that officer will be able to find work in the burbs. probably be fired for this. i’m guessing the officer was doing the right thing..
the little thug is on the phone to lisa ross right now, and is already making plans on how to spend his million bucks.
Violence is the only thing these low IQ turds understand. They are emboldened by every leftist sensationalism tactic used by the media when one of them gets what they deserve. Expect more violence. I wont hesitate to shoot one. I'm too old to play knockout game with these pukes.
The woman who decided to run interference should have received a nice back-hand. If he had not restrained the punk, next thing he would have felt would be his warm blood running down his arm or out of his side - some of the 'citizens' depicted would have stobbed his ass. And you all know it.
Hire 200 cops just like him. He is showing more love for that young man than any adult ever has.

Yes but it helps a do nothing, incompetent mayor be popular among the voter base that hates cops and civility
Without more evidence than on the videos, it would seem that the law enforcement officer deserves a raise, as stated above.
It also looks like our alleged mayor and his chief of police, neither of which seem to have demonstrated competence, are showing the way.
The way to sucking up to the electorate and ensure their jobs yet at the same time ensuring Jackson will slide farther down.
Crime, bad roads, inadequate water supply all are stars on the crown of our supposed mayor, judges, and city council. They all seem to sell out for votes. I hope their ass kissing leaves a bitter taste, or at least a merde-like taste which they richly deserve.
The reality of the matter is in some jurisdictions with no back-up, some officers would have been quick to pull their firearm and even discharge it to eliminate any perceived threat. This officer did not, but he did let that kid know he was in control of the situation. Might be the first time in this kid's life that he experienced what real authority is. If the kid walked away from the situation knowing he needs to respect law enforcement and he is still alive, I dont see anything wrong. Perhaps he may have saved kids life in the future from trying same foolishness with the wrong officer, that might in a death sentence.
Not able to open videos posted on this website?
The anti-order, anti-police, perspective of this mayor and his regime are easily revealed by his statement BEFORE completing an investigation. What POLICE conduct will not be tolerated. What about criminal conduct? Thug conduct is now our way of life. Pander to the thug element and diminish the police. This fool mayor ain't ready for real life. Stick to the seminars.
Looks like porky pig has some anger issues.
If the cop had been white then this would be international news and his full name would be repeated over and over until the names were symbols of white supremacy and police brutality.

It is Facebook. Trust me, you should be glad your browser is blocking their privacy invasion.
Hopefully KF will follow Joe Rogan's lead and abandon YouTube and Facebook.
another 105.1 new listener!
Maybe it’s me but I saw nothing wrong. I always say if you don’t teach your children to be disciplined then law enforcement will. Based on how quickly these incidents turn into murders, the young man in the video should be thankful that the officer declined to let his gun do the talking.
How to cash in on the "lottery."
1. "I can't breath."
2. "I have rights."
3. "You're picking on me because I'm black" doesn't apply in this case.
Great "tough love" by the officer, which is something that this yewt has not likely experienced before.
Where are Jesse and Al? Oh wait, as the officer is not white there is no money to be made here.
Look at 220. JPD is losing the city. Of course, it lost when Chokwe got elected and Davis was made chief.
Put Davis back on the street on solo patrol, without the media. I'd love to see that.
Quality equals most of Kingfish's courtroom videos.
From where I sit there were three ways for the officer to handle it. Of those three ways, the officer chose the least violent of his options. If this officer routinely patrolled this area, the choice to disregard the young man's noncompliance was never an option. To disregard the young man's noncompliance would have nullified any future ability for the officer to perform his duty effectively. He would have been viewed as weak. I agree with some of the posts above. The officer gave and showed compassion for the young man. I hope it wasn't a wasted effort.
Where do I send money to the cops funding?
I love this shit. Finally some balls instead of a pu$$y mayor.
Was anyone else reminded of that scene in Don't Be A Menace To Society While Drinking Your Gin And Juice In the Hood where Bernie Mac plays the racist black cop who did this same thing to the Wayans?
Lil' Chokwe has no clue that he's is a one term mayor.
I'm starting to think David L. Archie might even be a better leader for Jackson.
I know I'm wrong but I'm all for letting them shoot, stab, beat, kill or whatever they want to do to each other, Cops should just go there to sponge up the evidence and then go home. Ride a cruiser 8 hrs or whatever and just get a check. Losing your job/pension over little turds like this is useless.
@6:33 PM - "Sniffy" Crazy Joe Biden would be a better mayor.
Should have tased him right in the crotch. Guarantee he would have hit the ground with the quickness. Would have stopped backtalking too.
''i cant breath''...............the battle cry of upcoming litigation . got news for you punk..........you cant talk unless you are breathing.
Are Jackson cops taught to choke the hell out of the kids?
Having helped someone who was truly choking, I can tell you...if you can talk, you can breathe...when someone is frantically pointing/holding their throat, slapping your arm to get your attention, and no sound is coming out...they truly can't breathe
And you guys know the kid is guilty, how? You can’t assume that just anyone who is getting choked out deserves it.
7:03 You obviously didn't pay attention... just like the kid.
He was told to leave... but stayed. That'd make him guilty of what he was told him to do.
The word I'm getting is this took place over at Bailey & WW. The merchants have a problem with bums and um, street sellers frequenting their parking lots and harassing customers. Hence why this yout was told to leave.
The young man's guilt or innocence is not in question here. His disregard for a legally given command is the cause of the officer's response. Guilt or innocence is decided in a court of law, not in the street. The young man's obstinance, after receiving a lawfully given command, left the officer with only three viable solutions. The officer chose the best solution that was in favor of the young man. Do you not think the officer knew he was being recorded? That the recording would show the officer in a bad light? That it would also bring unnecessary scrutiny from his superiors? The officer knowingly placed himself in a terrible position to show compassion to the young man. People should support this officer.
this kid was not getting choked out. anyone that says he was wasn't watching the same video. look at the officer's thumbs. they are against the kid's bottom/front part of the chin, forcing the kid's head back against the roof of the car. control the head, you control the body. there was no gasping for breath, wheezing, coughing, or anything. you can clearly hear him say he can't breath. as mentioned above, if you truly can't breathe, you can't speak clearly, if at all. also, if the officer was choking him, that kid would have passed out long before the video clip ended. watch a MMA fight, it doesn't take that long to choke someone out.
Can you imagine the person that has so few options in life that they decide to work for JPD?
That kid would've been lucky to have had that man as his father growing up.
If he gets fired he would make a great asset to Madison police Dept. Those guys have balls and he would fit in nicely
The officer is not applying a choke hold, otherwise the kid would have been unconscious rather quickly. It appears that the officer is applying pressure to the hypoglossal nerve, which is a commonly taught method of pain compliance in police academies. The yewt was probably complaining that he couldn't breathe because he was in so much pain. The pain stops immediately when pressure is released and this method has no effect on circulation or respiration (but I've seen some people piss their pants, which is totally unrelated).
This made it all the way to England, in the Daily Mail. Comments there were vicious about how the brutal Officer was choking the child..
Jackson cop is placed on leave after video emerges showing him with his hands wrapped around a suspect's neck as onlookers yell 'he can't breathe'
Patrolman Myron Smith is seen placing his hands around a suspect's neck in video that circulated online from May 22
The clip shows a young man pinned up against a car as the cop yells: 'I asked you to leave. What did you do?'
At one point the cop shouts at him: 'Make me. Make me. I said make me'
but it's unclear what he'd suggesting he'll do
They have a short struggle and the suspect gestures toward his throat as onlookers yell: 'He's not breathing'
The officer has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation

Another bully with a badge. Surely he knew that when you're choking someone they cannot breathe.
