Thank goodness! The good citizens of Hattiesburg must be happy right now. I was told that Johnny Dupree, the Hattiesburg Mayor, testified on Fairley's behalf. Not a smart move by Dupree.

Marcus Dupree has been posting quite a bit on Facebook and his posts are public. If there ever was a situation where the word "karma" should be applied, it's Kenny Fairley being found guilty and facing prison time - prosecuted by a black U.S. attorney and unanimously convicted by a jury that was 50% black.

Maybe the Feds are after Bennie, but if they can clean up the corruption in Hattiesburg and Forrest County along the way, their presence is welcomed. Too bad they couldn't have overseen Ware v. (Johnny) DuPree.

They are only starting to sniff at all the absolute crooked BS that went on under RL and went completely unchecked with Biggers breaking the law left and right. This may be the house of cards that brings the country deputy down. It has been that big of a cluster inside MEMA for the last 5 years. Smithson is a total no BS guy who is the right type of person to put in there but it may be too little too late and end up costing the state tens of millions.
This is going to get a lot bigger quickly and affect a lot more federal grant programs MEMA administers where funds are unaccounted for and/or misappropriated.

Race seems to come up in way too many threads. Perhaps we as a society have not advanced as far as we believe. As has been point out, a popular black preacher was convicted by a jury that was 50% black and prosecuted by a black Attorney General under a black President. Additionally, one of the prosecutors on the case was black as well. Contrary to what some believe, most blacks desire to live in a crime free society as well. Blacks also believe that individuals should be held accountable for our actions. What most blacks have a problem with is selective prosecution. For instance former Gulfport Mayor Brent Warr got a sweetheart deal of no jail time when he committed fraud. (I wonder if Defendant Fairly was offered a similar deal.)

Now some if you all appear to be fascinated with the idea of Bennie Thompson being investigated. I am curious, did you all call for an investigation of Trent Lott when he was calling up Judges and offering to help them get nominated to the federal court so that his brotherinlaw could get favorable rulings from those Judges.

Dupree is as crooked as they come. What Pastor Fairley should do is give the FEDS what he knows about Dupree and his dealings. Although he may have benefited from all those wastewater dealings and the crook campaigning for governor and the unaccounted for monies from the mystery donors and " Greg Brand." The reference many have made in their comments are about football great Marcus Dupree that Fairly screwed out of millions of dollars and much of his life. Marcus is a fine upstanding man that has straightened out the life this 'preacher' led him to.

You obviously are referring to the Mayor Johnny Dupree no relation to Marcus. Johnny and his wife Jonice both need to follow their friend and supporter Fairly to jail. Rumor has it that a if might be brought into this scam of Fairley's b ed fore it is over as she was definitely involved in the HUD program. Johnny could go with Ken for several reasons - along with many members of his administration and campaign support group.

Bennie Thompson is a target. Has been since 2011. He used resources to obstruct a 2011 investigation. It worked, but they knew what was up, and they laid a trap. It's slowly closing.

When Charles Bolton is found GUILTY, rumor has it that the puppet for BigDaddy Dukes, known as Sheriff Billy Magee is next but before his trial he will hire former Hattiesburg Police Chief Frazier Bolton as his chief for the Forrest County Sheriff Office. Wasn't he released by Johnny Dupree of his duties at HPD and Bolton was hired else where to oversee the police chief they hired after several court dates where Johnny Dupree was force to appoint the present chief after legal actions were taken on Dupree. If this isn't a clear sign of attempting to keep control and regulate criminal activity within the local government there.

I heard about that Hattiesburg Patriot.com, from what I've read the staff there are on top of things going on in that community. I'm still laughing about the clip that was recorded when Mayor Johnny Dupree lost his composure, pushing the reporter and attempting to take his camera. If you haven't heard or checked this site out yet you need to prepare yourself for some Good entertainment.
