Don't feel obligated Clayton to purchase Thad and Kay a wedding gift.
So how long was Clayton in prison for? And where did he serve?
Do feel obligated to send a note of regret to the many individuals and families whose lives you screwed up due to your ignorant following of the tinfoil hat crowd that led you down your path to hell.
Feel sorry for the guy. That candidate was skeezy for sure, but this guy was a manipulated fool. I sort of appreciate the way he exposed how bad of a guy Thad is, but he obviously committed a crime and deserved the time. Just sucks that we can't have transparency so that people like this Kelly character don't have opportunities to screw up their life in the short term.
He can start with McDaniel with the first "I am sorry" note. Good Gracious, talk about a life ruined...
That isn't very Christian of you @5:07 PM. Even Thad and his new, but familiar, bride believe in redemption and second chances.
Cochran attended Friday’s hearing and was expected to provide a statement as a character witness asking for leniency in sentencing.
5:07 here. I was thinking mostly of my late friend, Mark Mayfield. Granted, he was complicit in the process and not without fault. But the whole idiotic project was nothing but stupid, and of course, illegal.
Hopefully his bad comb-over is still imprisoned.
Any comment from Chrisf McDarniel?
Yeah! Daddy's home!
Jeez - yesterday I read where Chrissy "term limits for thee, but not for me" McD was bitching about the bonds Tater is floating to pay for tax cuts, and now today this.
"Hey Elwood - we're getting the band back together!"
Right, bond debt for zoos and museums makes all the sense in the fiscal world.
Kelly did his time. Sadly, all our crooks in politics that take legalized bribes and do not pay taxes on them get off free just because of their political power.
The House voice vote on this matter is shameful. Gunn is one of the most crooked politicians I have ever seen. HE should spend some time behind bars.
Kelly overcame a lot growing up. He has an outstanding work ethic and had made something of himself. He did it all on his own. He screwed up and his wife and child suffered tremendously because of it. Now he has a long way o go to put his life back together again.
So many do far worse and get no time or less time. His "handlers" walked.
So will Jeffrey Simmons serve any time? He beat the ever loving crap out of a woman with about a dozen blows to the head, as she was on the ground. Perhaps he will walk or serve any time? Perhaps he will walk because of his football talent. What Simmons did was far worse than taking an unauthorized picture of someone.
What was in the bond bill? The legislature cut taxes and then is borrowing $250 million. Yeah, makes sense. Now they will brag about their "balanced budget".
Worst legislative session I have ever seen.
9:13 -- Elaborate on Kelly's background, past challenges, etc. Havent heard this.
The shame of the whole matter is twofold: 1) Kelly and friends let some half-baked political stunt escalate to the point that it ruined lives; and 2) one of those lives ruined was that of Mark Mayfield, who was a stellar person and a great conservative.
I got really tired of the elaborate praise of Mark Mayfield two years ago. I'm still not impressed. An attorney engaged in a blatantly illegal and inept scheme, and then couldn't take responsibility and opted for the coward's way out. How's that lawsuit that his idiot widow threatened against Madison PD going?
Still need to know if Mark Mayfield is the one who tipped off Melanie that Clayton had been arrested.
10:25 Abandoned by Dad at early age, a chronically sick Mom who many days could not get out of bed. This started in his early childhood. His Mom's second marriage ended when her husband died of cancer. He then had an alcoholic step father, his Moms third husband. He worked in fast food restaurants for years, went back to business college and got his computer degree and eventually landed an outstanding job. Lost that job because he was in jail with a sky high bond and could not show up for work or call in. Now his immediate family has illness. on and on. Enough that anyone with a heart would cry.
The entire story from (misbegotten) start to (tragic) finish would have made a worthy plot for Shakespeare. I still don't quite grasp, though, why Sen. Cochran continues to be pilloried for having placed his totally out-of-it wife in a VERY lovely care facility, at enormous cost, and getting on with his own life. It's not as if he locked her away in an attic like Mr. Rochester did to his first wife (although, who could blame him?) Sen Cochran DID RIGHT BY his wife. Was he also supposed to lock himself up and live the life of a hermit until "The Lord" chose to "call her home"? The Lord moves mighty slowly sometimes, seems to me.
Mark Mayfield and the others DID do something wrong, though. But nothing so dreadful that a suicide had to be the only escape. What a cataclysmic series of events.
Thad was so righteous. That is why he never told the voters of Mississippi what he was up to with Kay Webber. Because he was righteous with the LORD and didn't want to live the life of a hermit.
Thad also took his girlie friend on taxpayer paid trips. I guess it is ok for the hard working little people to sacrifice to pay the world travel cost of his majesty and his concubine. Well, as long as the federal money keeps rolling in for the lobbyists' clients and the lobbyists. Haley needs to make a living too.
I don't care if Thad had a whole stable of women in Washington, there is NO excuse for what this idiot and his friends did. Mrs Cochran was innocent of any wrong doing and SHE was the victim. How anybody can be twisted enough to think this was ok to prove Thad was a bad guy is beyond me.
To think about all the MSGOP RINOs who blindly repeated the Thad lives in the basement meme.
Both Kelly and Thad did bad stuff. Thad is a powerful person and gets away with it, Kelly is a nobody and pays a price.
And the people behind this were never brought to the forefront, their names were never mentioned and they continue on with their lives as if nothing ever happened - It's just easier to blame someone else while the law allows you to get by with it!
Mayfield was going to lose his law license, which was how he made a living. Think about all the possible ramifications of that. It makes him getting involved in that even harder to understand, but what he ended up doing not really that unusual in the legal community when a lawyer hits the end of the road.
Mayfield was set for life... The embarrassment for someone that tried so hard to lead a squeaky clean life was too much for him to handle... I'm sure there was guilt with mcdaniels defeat too.
I am intrigued at how much of my personal life some of you know.
I meant no harm and my goal was to expose embezzlement and fraud. I could care less about who he was sleeping with. I hate the way things turned out.
"embezzlement and fraud"? Where? By taking a photo of a demented invalid? Were the nuns running St. Catherine's in on some scam?
Maybe you posted on the wrong thread, whoever you are.
