JPD nabbed a suspect in the armed robbery and rape that took place at The Park at Moss Creek Apartments this week. JPD issued the following statement a few minutes ago:
On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, Jackson Police Officers investigated an incident that occurred at the Park at Moss Creek Apartments located at 5000 Ridgewood Rd. An unknown black male subject armed with a handgun approached several subjects and ordered them into an apartment at this location. The suspect robbed the subjects for their belongings. A sexual assault was also reported. He fled the scene on foot to an undisclosed location.
On Thursday, April 28, 2016, Robbery/Homicide Detectives developed and identified Aburey Jones, 21 years of age as a suspect in this incident. He has been charged with four counts of kidnapping, four counts of armed robbery of an individual, and one count of sexual battery. At approx. 6:45 PM Precinct 4 officers located a vehicle believed to be associated with Aburey Jones at the Arlington Apartments located at 5845 Ridgewood Rd. A short time later Aburey Jones was located and arrested without incident at an apartment in the complex. He has been transported and booked into the holding facility.
Aburey Jones identity has not been disclosed at this time pending other charges and investigations.

Gold stars to JPD. Great work!
Can we get a picture? I need to show my children what people who should be avoided look like.
Kudos to JPD.
JPD ain't the problem. Nice work.
way to go p4!
3, 2, 1... Let the haters in Madison start with the hate on Jackson
Let's keep the pressure on JPD and especially precinct 4. An isolated "success" is not worth much. We still desperately need and deserve at least a substation on this side of I55.
He'll be out this weekend.
A prime example of the JPD in action.

No need 10:30. Your self-loathing says more than anyone outside of Jackson could say. Enjoy your status quo. You've earned it.
Maybe a fan chart could be started or even a bar chart showing crime, perp, arrest date, bond (if any) etc. out to Judge assigned and onto conviction. Visual displays get through to more people and this would be a concise way of showing how things are moving through the system. I add my applause to JPD's fast work.

Say what?
Is there any group more pitiful than the woe-is-me Jacksonians who whine about people in Madison and Brandon every time one of their own citizens is a victim or a perpetrator of yet another crime? Granted, it's tough to defend a city that proves how full of crime, corruption, and urbay decay it is through daily news stories, but Madison and Rankin Counties are not the problem.
But, yeah. It's FAR easier to point your finger at the people across the county lines who are working hard, obeying the laws, and making their communities better, than to look at the people in your own backyard who are turning your beloved city into a Southern version of Thunderdome.
Again, how many of you "I live in JACKSON!" stalwarts live near Lake Hico, shop at Westland Plaza and dine on McDowell Road regularly?
This awful crime brings up our country's desperate need to completely re-evaluate our criminal/incarceration system, based decades old, failed policy. Our massive prison system is so over crowded that most serve fractions of their sentence. The major reason for overcrowding: non-violent drug offenders with overly long sentences, based on an outdated view of drugs. Decades ago, during the "War on drugs" peak, incredibly stiff drug sentences were enacted . Often, drug sentences are longer than for violent crime such as rape. Is that what we want? Surely we agree that someone that brutalizes another human should be locked up much longer than one hurting no-one but themselves? Do we want brutal rapists like this SOB paroled early to make room for someone that likes to get high? (Also, its just a fact that most drugs carry no worse consequences to society than alcohol). That debate aside, its about prioritizing limited resources. Decriminalize drug offenses, treat those people rather than incarcerate, use house arrest type alternatives if needed. Surely we'd much rather violent, sadists like this guy serve a long, long sentence. All major policies need to be re-evaluated from time to time. This is absolutely a major one.
I believe they were trying to say his photo hasn't been released yet......
10:32, the JPD, Precinct 4, has a stellar arrest rate under Chief Vance and Commander MacGowan. This arrest is typical, not isolated.
10:37, we can bring in a parrot to do your posts, so why don't you retire?
8:44, maybe they think they're disguising the perp's real name, which must be Aubrey. Clever, eh?
Notice this perp only lived or stayed about a mile from the crime victims. And this may upset the bedwetting safe spacers; but Aubrey once ID'd by the rape victim, should be similarly violated by the victim with a broom handle. There is a reason crime is low in many countries. They don't put up with this crap and physically punish the criminals. Here we have lawyers and community advocates who fight for HBO, AC and 3 star conditions in prisons.
Once again JPD comes through. Too bad Green/Kidd will have him out on bond in no time, and RSS will plead him out to probation to save the "hassle" of a trial.
Did the thug ever live in an Oxford house? Plenty of those right around ja...
He raped the closest person to me in my life, that night. She's 18 years old and the sweetest person ever, and he fucking violated her and now she will never be the fucking same and neither will I or the rest of the people that love her. Lives destroyed because of this stupid idiot fuck. If only I could get my hands on him.
