There will be a Senate race update in a couple of days but the race turned a little more ugly today. The knives have been replaced by lead pipes and crowbars.

Mississippi Tea Party Calls on Nosef to Resign
Jackson, MS - The Mississippi Tea Party called on MS GOP Chairman Joe Nosef to resign today.
The call for his resignation comes on the heels of his public comments to NBC News implying Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Chris McDaniel had to clarify claims made about him in Liberal blog Talking Points Memo.
Hard Ball's Chris Matthews highlighted Nosef's comments in his show early last week
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5gltoK9tTA
The MS Tea Party also calls on Joe Nosef to rescind his comments on the Paul Gallo Show last week in which he insinuated that Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Mississippi Chris McDaniel might cost the GOP a senate seat in the general election.
It is inappropriate for Nosef to make such claims given his role as Chairman of the MS GOP. Accordingly, Joe Nosef should resign from his position as Chairman of the MS GOP effective immediately.
Mississippi GOP bylaws call for MS GOP leadership to remain neutral during primaries. Nosef's behavior clearly violates MS GOP bylaws.
With or without Nosef, the MS Tea Party strongly suggests the MS GOP observe and obey its own stated principles and admonitions against involvement in primaries.
The MS Tea Party is committed to Constitutionally limited governance, fiscal responsibility, and free market principles, in addition to the rule of law.
Then the Cochran campaign sent out this little email to supporters:
However, we are not finished with the surreal. Here is a little video making the rounds today. Lets just say the production value is rather low.

Where is the video?
So replace a Statesman with a pup who has not passed one piece of significant legislation as a State senator. Really?
I don't think so.
Wow! They appear to have used the Carter Jewelers writers and production team to put that one together. (Not a compliment, Jerry.)
The Bring Thaaaaad home sale has just begun. We have sharply reduced the prices on all of our inventory for this one time event. Come and take advantage of these prices that will never be seen again during our extended hours.
Either way, Nosef is a disaster.
Nerdiest ad (and not in a clever way) I have seen in a long time. Hot chick at the beginning, though.
a la Jed Clampett: pitifulllll, just piteefullll
After seeing that, I am speechless. I am without speech.
@4:12 PM - Botox already at her age... she decreased her shelf life sharply with that decision.
I don't like the tea party but Nosef loves to go on those libtard MSNBC shows. If you yell camera around him he would run over his own mother to get to it. It's kinda sad. He is not as bad as Longwitz, who a WAPT reporter called a camera stalker, but he is pretty close.
RINOs and conservatives have problems with Joe Nosef. Donkeycrats are gleeful. Go ahead and scorch the earth to win the election Haley but you've lost the Party.
McDaniel fulfills my only requirement. He is not Thad Cochran. If Cochran gets the nomination I am going to break my no Democrats rule and vote for whoever those dumbasses nominate. Liberals like Cochran have destroyed the Republican party and I hate them for it.
The lead dog gets the best view. The rest of the dog's view is butt ugly.
Rumor has it there was a Thad-Chris food fight Saturday at Starkpatch.
Please don't forget, Nosef is not getting paid to be chairman !
As Haley Barbour and John McCain go, so goes Thad Cochran.
Haley, like the proverbial deer caught in the headlights...another reason for voting ABC.
Blah, blah, blah. Enough, children! Vote for who you want, but don't presume your biased, childish statements and opinions matter to anyone but yourselves.
I think the thunderstorm sale from a few years ago is still going on if you ask in a whisper.
So - Laura VanCrazy thinks what? Who the hell cares?
First, she continues to cite "by-laws" of the party, which I'm sure she has never seen, and if she had, doesn't know how to read. There is no such clause in the MS GOP by-laws and even though she (and her other crazies continue to try to claim) doesn't make it true.
Nosef may not be the best chairman the GOP could have, but that doesn't matter. And yes, he is absolutely a camera hound, loving the attention. But in this case, he stated the obvious and LVO and the idiots that put her in a position to speak for them can cry all they want - the political truth is there.
McDaniel has proven to be the same kind of candidate as Todd Akin and the witch funded by the same national groups. They are in it only for the fund-raising prowess that they gain by pushing non-tested, incompetent candidates - but the type that the LVO's love to get behind.
Biggest question is - come primary day will these folks vote for McDaniel in the Repub primary or go to the other table and vote for their other failed candidate, Bill Marcy?
So, Thad is a 'statesman'? Please define.
Allow me to reflect: If Haley were still gov and Thad resigned, who would be appointed?
That video is beyond redneck tacky and manages to make it to humiliatingly bad.
Why is the guy on the left even there? He doesn't even lip sing ?
Is this someone who Tea Party people will recognize and admire?
And, Laura must be the most politically naïve person alive whether she believes what she wrote or wrote it hoping others will buy that nonsense.
Dear Laura, you have a base that is self-motivated. You don't need to preach to the choir. You need converts.
Perfect video to validate what the rest of the country thinks of us
The manifestation of a political party here in Mississippi that has risen to power by playing to race and class and a fake sense of espousing some sort of religious puritanism has now finally come home to roost. Welcome to the modern Mississippi Republican Party. Please remember to thank Haley and Trent and all of their minions for giving the party a base that during a Republican primary, probably 70% plus would vote to raise a giant Confederate flag above the State Capitol Building. You reap what you sow, I will applaud their crowning achievement on June 4th when Chris McDaniel is their party nominee for the US Senate seat from MISSISSIPPI!
The best and about only thing McDaniel has going for him is he is not Cochran.
No amount of vitriol, reasoning or logic will change that fact. Cochran isn't running against Chris, he's running against himself. Keep burning up KF's page with all the reasons why you want Cochran to get reelected. It won't matter.
Admittedly, the video, is hokey," but is one shallow enough to allow it to be the determining factor in this very important US senatorial election?
The demi-crat "ratpack" over at Tom's place seems to be lining up like the proverbial Lemmings run to the sea,in order to vote for McDaniels.
Let's hope that their twisted Machiavellian tactic results in the same fate to them as it does to the poor lemmings as they go over the cliff.
Shawn O'Hara has announced he will throw his support to Cochran.
IMHO, the greatest political ad ever was Mike Gravel's 2008"metaphoric" ROCK video. Too bad that McDaniel's ad-men messed up.
Coming close to the Gravel ad was Shawn O'Hara's "metaphoric" gesticulating to the Heavens with the middle finger extended, and claiming that having an abortion was like giving God the finger, comes close to the Matt and Gus ad created for Gravel.
If McDaniels had not "rolled his eyes" as he passed O'Hara in the hallway of the court that day, O'Hara would probably come up with an appropiate metaphoric ad.
Pugnacious, it isn't " shallow" for this video to be a factor in this video.
Your candidate approved this manner of promoting his image to the State.
I'm left to think he 1) lacks taste and judgment and 2) think Mississippians are without taste or intelligence and 3) can't present the issues other than through attacks.
Anyone who did let this be the determinant would have a fair basis for their decision.
Maybe McDaniel's hokey video is metaphoric as in Mike The Rock Gravel's
2008 election video?
"I'm left to think he 1) lacks taste and judgment and 2) think Mississippians are without taste or intelligence and 3) can't present the issues other than through attacks."
He rails constantly about how the national debt has gone up while Thad has been making sure Mississippi gets $3 for every $1 it sends to D.C. in taxes.
If he wants to be taken seriously he needs to list, specifically and with dollar amounts attached, just what federal spending in D.C. he wants to cut to lower the national debt. I suspect he'll find out his hollow, empty rhetoric will cause such cognitive dissonance his head will explode, once he realizes just how hard it would be even for someone with 42 years experience, to cut the budget and still get elected.
McDaniel reminds me of a 4-year-old walking around in his father's shoes. Cute to look at, but only a lunatic would hand him the keys and the checkbook.
9:35, do you think we ought to cut federal spending to lower the national debt? If so, wouldn't you like to hear a plan from all candidates, not just one? What is your candidate's plan?
You Thad people are starting to irritate me. I'm not a McDaniel supporter, but I haven't heard any reason yet to vote for Thad other then he'll keep bringing the tax dollars home. Is that really all he has to say for himself after 40 years in DC?
A question for Thad supporters:Do you support your candidate's support of NAFTA and the other fast track trade treaties that have eliminated the working middle class of America?
I spoke with the former owner of several cut-n-sew clothing manufacturing plant in Selma, Alabama. He claims that in the early 1990s, the clothing manufacturing industry in Alabama employed over 90,000 people, many of them women and semi-skilled workers. That industry is almost non-exitent, today. I can still remember Chip Pickering assuring the clothing mill workers down in Stonewall a few years ago, who were laid off, that they didn't need that low paying denim plant, and that they would all be re-trained to develop high paying "computer jobs." It breaks ones heart to drive through Stonewall, today.
That denim plant, and its twin in Tyler, Texas, was dismantled by the former plant operators, then packed up and sent off to China. The building has been demolished.
Thad drove his share of coffin nails in the burying of this country under a pile of insurmountable debt. He should have to pay for that!
I got it! This is an Erroll Morris documentary. Or is this Southern-fried Pulitzer-yellow journalism, creating a false flag op to discredit the candidate and to beguile and dupe the gullible and unsuspecting voters.
I did not see the "I approve of this ad" comment at the end of this video. And what does Andy Taggart know of the origins of this video?
The classy Huey P. Long Flashmob trumps the Bloomers!
The same tactic can be used against the warmongering, free-spending Cochran...and against Cochran's House-twin, Gene Taylor.
