Note: The bad guys were pretty damn busy yesterday so there will be more press releases than normal posted today.
The Madison Police Department issued the following statement.
On August 8, 2024 at approximately 6:30PM, officers with the Madison Police Department were alerted to a stolen vehicle from the City of Hattiesburg. The vehicle and occupant were believed to be related to an armed carjacking that occurred on August 5, 2024 on Hwy 98 in the City of Hattiesburg. The vehicle listed as stolen was a 2016 Nissan Altima. A traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle; however, the vehicle fled from Main Street and Grandview where it struck three vehicles. The vehicle then turned south on Grandview Blvd where it went into oncoming traffic. The Altima then continued south onto Cotton Hill where other agencies were contacted for assistance. After turning east on Colony Park, the Altima then went across Hwy 51 where the driver lost control and struck a bridge located on McClellan Drive. The suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Montoya Motley of Gulfport, MS then exited the vehicle and ran back north into the Cobblestone Subdivision armed with a handgun. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody without incident near the rear of a residence. Officers recovered a total of three firearms and a large quantity of marijuana. Montoya Motley was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries sustained during the accident. The citizens involved in the prior accidents were treated at the scene and released.Further investigation by officers revealed that Motley was also wanted out of the City of Biloxi for Armed Robbery and possibly Kidnapping. Officers are coordinating with the City of Hattiesburg and the City of Biloxi to further the investigation where additional suspects are being sought in their respective jurisdictions.

The City of Madison is currently holding Montoya Motley where he is charged with Felony Fleeing, 2 counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Possession with Intent to Distribute, and three counts of Felony Malicious Mischief.
Montoya J. Motley’s case will be forwarded to Madison/Rankin County District Attorney John ‘Bubba’ Bramlett for prosecution following his initial appearance in the City of Madison Municipal Court. Motley will be housed at the Madison County Detention Center as he awaits his initial court appearance.

Wrong county rocket surgeon.
Madison PD don't play, bright spark
I don't think that stolen car will buff out.
That won't buff out.
I actually saw this. Thank God it was on a Thursday and not earlier and not on a Wednesday. The daycare and and Ridgecrest are literally yards away.
That name is "so Gulfport". And that subdivision's name is "so Naming Wheel". On the other hand, it's nice to know there's a dirt-cheap car which protects its occupants - whether or not they deserve to be protected.
How Motley of him-
I saw it too. A miracle no innocent people were severely injured. Lock this fool away for life
That will need quite a bit of bondo. Might be they need some of that expanding foam to fill in what's missing underneath to have a good solid base for the bondo.
Notice the release said nothing about returning him to Hattiesburg or Biloxi
That car is cut in half! How is he even alive let alone able to run on foot?
If only he made it to Jackson where there is a no chase policy
It's a shame he didn't fire on the officers and get well ventilated. Now, we've got to take care of this asshole forever.
If only this guy hires Daniel Sidney Dale as attorney the story would be complete
Why no firearms charge?
Wouldn't reckless endangerment be applicable?
Amen 9:21am. Get him, Bubba.
Motley to the Judge, your honor I committed all the crimes in Hinds County! The sanctuary city for committing violent crimes.
What is it about Madison that seems to attract this kind of person? And it always seems to be on Grandview Blvd where all the cheap-ass stores are. And Mary is responsible for all of them. Think about all the chases, shootings, robberies that have originated or concluded in that area over the past six years.
Montaya fought the law and the law won
