I know Stokes has some haters, but Stokes may be the best the city has to offer. You have to understand him and his politics. I think Stokes is the most reliable member of that council. I also think if it got down to Stokes being able to see some benefit for his constituents, he would cross the aisle every time it became necessary. I don't care for his politics, but it works for him, and I get it.

Geez influence would come pretty cheap in Jackson.

I understand from a friend who governed with him a while back, Kenny Stokes was a reasonable person until he stepped in front of the cameras. I don't know anyone in Jackson city government personally. From everything I've seen over the years K. Stokes is the least likely person to be suspect of corruption. You can throw darts based on specific comments which could have, possibly, may have been made as a result of frustration. As far as the potential for these events to identify and hold accountable individuals who placed self promotion and personal gain over all else, we can only hope.

Lee was scheduled to be elected President this July, but for some 'strange reason', the night before the election she informed Virgie that she was not going to stand for election and wanted her to do it instead - that "they" didn't trust Foote, who was the alternative.

There is a building on the campus of Southern Miss that serves as proof that certain people can get away with much more than this. The burden of proof for some people is a lot lower than others. For those asking about entrapment, she likely had a predisposition to commit bribery, which defeats an the defense (even if she was induced). It can be shown by prior criminal involvement or a readiness to commit the act, such as promptly accepting the undercover agent's offer.

This comes late in the cycle, but Lee's resignation means she no longer has a city salary that can be garnished to pay past due campaign expenses. I've worked with the printing company that had her city paychecks garnished. It's an excellent printer that delivers top quality products on time.
