The Madison Police Department issued the following statement.
On April 11, 2023, the Madison Police Department began an investigation into a social media post by a male student at the Saint Joseph Catholic School in Madison. The post involved a generalized threat that was not directed towards any particular individual, persons or facility. Since that time, the student has been removed from the school by the school administration and the investigation is on-going.
Subsequently, on April 12, 2023, a female student also made a similar post on social media. She has since also been removed from the school by school administrators. This investigation into this incident is also on-going.
The school and police department have determined there is no active threat against the Saint Joseph Catholic School or other facilities at this time.
Due to confidentiality laws related to juveniles, no information related to the identity of the students involved will be released.

Pretty severe action if nobody, no person, and no facility was threatened. Had it been public school, the ACLU would have booked a private jet to the Madison airport.
While certain privacy and confidentially laws do apply, no law prevents the release of the specific post or posts.
But, the teaser is noted.
This was likely released by the MPD to prevent rumors and conspiracy theories, in addition to keeping the public/parents informed.
This is prudent — both the school’s actions and MPD’s informative release — in light of the recent tragedy in Nashville.
Hey knotheads: F*ck around and find out.
The parents of these two little Catholic kids are obviously NOT board members or properly gentrified.
It matters WHO you are when you're application is reviewed and it matters WHO you are when your time is up.
What is a "generalized threat?"
@10:06 PM - You obviously aren't an alumnus of Madison County Schools, so let me help you. An example would be "let's blow up a school" vs. "let's blow up Acme Academy."
@10:06 pm, pay no attention to 8:10 am. A generalized threat is a threat that has been generalized. In general, it is a threat. That is all you need to know. This is government and its enforcement arm, so clarity isn’t necessary so long as there is verbiage for the media arm to intone. Ongoing investigation, blah blabbity blah, and yadda yadda yadda.
Return now peaceably to your domicile and wait for further updates and instructions. Stop being disorderly before you are arrested for failure to comply with a lawful order.
That is all.
What law enforcement calls a 'generalized threat' is actually 'a non-specific comment, signal or stance that is perceived to support or advocate for violence or harm to others or property'.
