Posted below is the contract between Bradley Pigott, Esq. and the Mississippi Department of Human Services. For some strange reason, there is a great deal of interest in the contract so JJ obtained a copy of it.
The contract runs from August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022. Attorney General Lynn Fitch, DHS Director Robert Anderson, and Mr. Pigott signed the agreement. The attorney's compensation is capped at $74,500.

with a cap like that, I don't even need to check to see if there is a law or rule that would have made them competitively procure the contract if it exceeded $75,000.
It is amazing how many services in state government just happen to end up being $49,500 and $74,500.
Thought for sure this would be a contingency fee agreement or a blended rate agreement. What a nothing burger.
July 31, "or upon the completion of the single civil lawsuit described above"
So which is it, lack of communication and failure to follow orders or a simple expiration of the contract? Brad obviously believes it’s the former.
You don't - and shouldn't - have to competitively bid legal service contracts.
Still makes more than Ganuchump.
Brad, where's the beef?
You do not hire an attorney for a case like this and not expect them to continue, especially 2 months after filing suit.
It seems obvious that Pigott acted officially outside the scope of his contract
Pigott has ONE G!!
Is this Pigott guy considered a competent atty.? If so, please explain.
@2:43 yes, apparently too competent.
@2:43 Yes.
@3:03. Hell yes.
Does a coach tell the front office every play he plans to run? Pigott got his marshmallows too close to the fire and the party elite torched his ass. When the fire was doused, the ghost of Edwin Edwards could be seen running into the woods.
If I were on trial for murder, he would be one of the very few lawyers I would ask to represent me. (Buddy and Chuck as well)
Right or wrong, it seems Pigott has succeeded in making
many more sphincter muscles extremely tight.
I suggest and recommend Ed Blackmon to assemble the team if we are serious about getting to the bottom of this.
Assuming Tate is responsible for having Pigott fired, one has to wonder why he would involve himself in this matter (assuming he wasn't already involved). This is all on Phil and Phil's administration. No doubt Phil is calling in favors left and right to cover is backside, but Tate has now created the perception that he's in the middle of this thing too. Not a good move if true. This thing is about to explode.
@9:07 Politics creates strange bed-fellows. You can bet Phil, Tate, and all the rest have plenty on each other which makes it easy to coexist as needed, especially in an effort to engage in what has the appearance of a coverup.
This is now a New York Times story.
Look for federal indictments against Bryant,Farve,and many others.
Too big to sweep under the rug.
@11:09 exactly. So why make it look worse by firing Pigott?
Look for federal indictments against Bryant,Farve,and many others.
What are the charges?
Please proceed.
Please proceed governor.
@12:03 you’ll see soon enough, Phil.
You bet your sweet bippy them Feds are gonna intervene in misappropriation of their welfare money. Maybe Tater didn't know squat about this, but by being sketch like this and letting this attorney go, he's inserted himself into the cesspool and is considered to be more of the perceived "swamp". Just the appearance of corruption makes it stink to high heaven.
Marshal Ramsey cartoon in Mississippi Today is cute and spot on. KF would be funny to post.
I sure hope people didn't delete any of the records that would have been produced in response to the subpoena...actually...
I hope that's what they have to try to explain after the feds come knocking.
No freaking State Agency - Executive Director would pass that amount monies to anyone right or wrong without the Approval of the Governor!
Firing or not renewing Attorney Pigott contract was a real red flag. Obstruction of Justice!
Spin it anyway you want, just saying! To the Executive Director of MDHS, you spent your life long career being I heard an honorable man, and now look at who you become. To forsake a fellow man for that high 4 in PERS.
I ain’t mad, just the perception. It don’t look right or does it pass the smell test. It just ain’t pretty!
Do your thang we will forget, until the next MDHS scandal.
What are the charges? July 26, 2022 at 12:03 PM asks...
Indictments (and they often appear here) are rather lengthy. There's something about getting ducks in a row that takes a lot of words.
You can look for the wordS "CONSPIRACY TO" to appear about twenty times.
I think the entire volleyball subpoena is a total distraction. Why in the hell would Tate get in the middle of this thing over volleyball emails? Makes no sense. No, I think Pigott discovered some other information and was about to do some other things. Those “other things” got the attention of those in power and forced their hand, either for themselves or their political buddies.
Sounds like Lynn Fitch hired him to do a job and he went outside lines to start asking for notes and minutes from meetings of Southern Miss Athletic Foundation. The Foundation has told several people they had approval from The Ag Office on the volleyball donation. Fitch took over 2020 Volleyball completed early 2020. So are we talking about Jim Hood Attorney General . He seems unlikely to do Phil a favor going out of office? If so is it professional courtesy nto to go after Hood or afraid Phil gets caught up in it.
