Bennie: Ban 'em From the Skies

Congressman Benjamin Thompson wants TSA to place any American who participated in the riot at the Capitol last week to be placed on the no-fly list.  He issued the following statement:

Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement urging the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to use their authorities to add the violent perpetrators involved in the domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol yesterday to the No-Fly List and keep them off planes:

“Given the heinous domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol yesterday, I am urging the Transportation Security Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to use their authorities to add the names of all identified individuals involved in the attack to the federal No-Fly List and keep them off planes. This should include all individuals identified as having entered the Capitol building—an intrusion which threatened the safety of Members of Congress and staff and served as an attack on our Nation.

“We already saw reports of ‘unruly mobs’ in air on the way to Washington, D.C. It does not take much imagination to envision how they might act out on their way out of D.C. if allowed to fly unfettered. This is an action that TSA and the FBI, by law, are able to take but, to my knowledge, have not yet taken. Alleged perpetrators of a domestic terrorist attack who have been identified by the FBI should be held accountable.”

Homeland Security apparently is already doing so if this video is any indication:

What a douche.

If you terrorize America you get treated like a terrorist.

OK Bennie, if we are going to put them on the no fly list then put all those who participated in the Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots on the list also. You can’t have it both ways. What is fair for one group is fair for the others.

Anonymous said...

How about the ones that participated in the riots and city shutdowns all summer long? And the Antifa thugs? I'm sure Bennie will also be calling for them to be banned from the skies forever, as well. /s

Good! These people are domestic terrorists.

Hey kids, shake it loose together
The spotlight's hitting something
That's been known to change the weather
We'll kill the fatted calf tonight, so stick around
You're gonna hear electric music
Solid walls of sound

Ooh, but they're so spaced out, B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets
Oh but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh Bennie she's really keen
She's got electric boots, a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine, ohh-oh
B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets

Hey kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe they're blinded
But Bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets
To find who's right and who's wrong

Oh Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet?

Yep, get ready for weaponization of the federal government against Republicans, Trump supporters, i.e. anyone that disagrees with leftist marxism.

On the last day of his presidency, Bill Clinton, at Rep Jerry Nador’s request, pardoned Susan Rosenberg. Now ole Susan wasn’t that bad, not that bad at all. Ole Susan, active in the far-left revolutionary terrorist May 19th Communist Organization, didn’t do anything much besides plant a bomb outside the US Senate chamber with the goal of assassinating Republican senators. Oh and she was just an accomplice in the 1981 Brink's robbery that resulted in the deaths of two police and a guard, supported the Weather Underground and other “revolutionary” organizations.

And what is good ole pardoned by Bill Clinton, Susan Rosenberg doing today? She’s now a board member of Black Lives Matter Network, Inc.

Republicans are the dumbest fools, always a step or two behind Democrats in the chess game of politics. All of this selective outrage, even from Republicans like Dan Crenshaw, over what happened at the capital. As if this even fractionally compares to the evil being perpetrated by Leftist Marxist Democrats.

Oh but it affected them this time, on that day, January 6th. And well, they, the Senators and Representatives, are so, so, so special. So much more special than the mother that watched her innocent child die from a stray bullet in Atlanta, fired from the gun of a “mostly peaceful protester.”

According to Leftist Marxist Democrats, and the Rhino’s that have now joined them, what happened on January 6th was far, far worse than the private owners that saw their properties burned to the ground, owners with businesses looted and ruined (the victims of those “mostly peaceful protesters,” likely disagree).

With provocation, death and destruction not seen in our lifetimes, not even in the 1960’s, Leftist Marxist Democrats have been poking Republicans in the eye, begging for a low intellect Tim McVeigh, Dylon Roof event for almost 4 years now. And January 6th, 2021, finally yielded the crop Leftist Marxist Democrats had been planting and trying to harvest, since January 20, 2017.

Anonymous said...

Hey, Bennie, let's play fair. Anyone who was arrested for terror incidents (smashing windows of private businesses during riots in 2020) will be on the "no fly" list too.

Anonymous said...

Same should go for the rioters in Portland and elsewhere, right?

Anonymous said...

I'm for it. Screw 'em.

Anonymous said...

7:07 Of course Bennie can have it both ways by punishing conservative but not liberals. That is the DNA of democrats.

"Good for thee, but not for me."

Anonymous said...

Look at the posters here that think democrats get arrested for BLM and antifa riots.

Anonymous said...

Proof positive crying and whining aren’t exclusive to liberals. Flying isn’t a right, especially when trying to flee the scene of a crime you committed. Cry me a river. Put rioters and anyone with a federal criminal record on there too. You break the law, there should be penalties. This isn’t grade school, and “but they didn’t get detention when they did it!” has never been a real world defense. What a baby.

Anonymous said...

I suppose he would be in favor of the same treatment for those who took over the Seattle Police Precinct for such an extended period of time

Anonymous said...

If any rioter broke into a federal building last summer, they should also be on the no-fly list. As should any of the fascists that entered the US Capitol last week. It appears that some of them wanted to kill the lawmakers, as shown in video and audio and photos. Since it would
be hard to separate who is who, send anyone who went in the Capitol to Gitmo. They deserve to live with the Taliban terrorists.

Will this event mirror the 1923 Munich riot led by Hitler or will it be a turning point away from wacky conspiracy, violent rhetoric, and instilling fear for political gain? .

Anonymous said...

@7:30 Simmer down, Guv Barnett.

And the whataboutism here is astonishing. Y’all simply can’t denounce what happened because you’re so wrapped up in thinking BLM is much worse.

Good job Bennie. There are numerous videos coming in of Trumps Terrorists giving hell to flight attendants and pilots on their way to their attack on our government. These are people who have been radicalized and they are not of sane mind. I’d like to see them charged with felonies that take away their guns and bombs as well.

Anonymous said...

@7:52
You must be a special kind of stupid to think that protesting against institutionally racist police brutality is the same as committing act of terros and insurrection against the sacred halls of Congress in our Nation’s Capitol.

I hope President Biden makes us safe by rounding up all the domestic terrorists and isolating them in camps and separates their children in cages just like Trump did to immigrant children.

Good to see Bennie earning his pay.

Word around the Dept. of Defense from the incoming Sec. of Defense is that any active duty armed forces who participated will face court martial. Any federal contractor who participated will lose their GSA clearance.

A protest because cops shot unarmed black men and women is not the same as trying to overthrow the government.
Granted saying anyone who participated should be on a no fly list is a bit much. The ones who willfully enter the capitol should all be charged with unlawful entry at a minimum. As for the ring leaders there should be more serious consequences and maybe being included on a "no fly" list is one of them.
This was an Insurrection not a protest.

Hey, 8:56, as has been pointed out, the Portland Antifa mobs attacked the United States Courthouse for months on end, burning things, breaking things, and beating Federal and local cops and even blinding them with high powered lasers. There have been Federal buildings vandalized nationwide. ALL of DC is Federal jurisdiction.

But, hey, "there is a difference." They are Leftists and Democrats, so it's OK. Double standard as always.

9:14. when is the last time a Republican won the popular vote for president? What demographic voted overwhelmingly for Biden? for Trump?

White people aren’t going to have an outright majority by 2040...less than 20 years away..

When you look at demographics, it’s easy to see that the country is moving towards the left. Biden will likely be the last moderate D in the presidency. Enjoy it before President AOC or President Omar take office....

We all see through this bs. Protests done by Democrats are fine but protests against Democrats are not. We all remember the “peaceful protests”.

Anonymous said...

9:21 and those people were arrested and charged, were they not?

I understand this victimhood you guys would like to experience, but it's just not that. CHAZ and any iteration of it was stupid. Burning a Federal courthouse is stupid. Raiding the US Capitol where the direct line of succession is with zip ties and Gallows outside is different. No telling what was taken data wise and no telling who saw what. Sorry if you don't understand.

Welcome to Socialism.

"/ˈsōSHəˌlizəm/ noun: socialism

Huh? What does flying have to do with that?

Anonymous said...

@8:43, no, you must be a special kind of stupid to think that burning buildings NOT owned by the racist policeman,
looting and rioting businesses NOT owned by the racist policeman, and
killing an innocent child, that was NOT the racist policeman,
is okay i.e. not worse than what happened on January 6th.

Maybe you need a dead child killed rioters to get it, but I pray that you don’t ever have to learn it that way.

Sacred halls of Congress, with all of the corruption that’s occurred therein; what an elitist chicken shit thing to say.

I'm all for appropriate punishment for those that took part in the protests that went way too far. I'm also for doing the same thing to everyone that destroyed, attacked, or occupied any other governmental property during the BLM protests too. You must hold people accountable for unacceptable behavior no matter what their reasons are. It shouldn't matter if it is BLM or QAnon.

Anonymous said...

10:02, we DO understand your cognitive dissonance.

Let's recall how many police precincts were raided. How many police vehicles and radios were burned or stolen. Any "data" concerns there? No, double standard. BTW, NO Congressperson was supposed to have ANY classified data out in an insecure area, much less abandon it. They've been trained, and signed written acknowledgements to the effect. But, natch, just like Hillary's personal basement server, the rules don't apply to Dems I guess. A protestor wrote "We will not surrender" on a note pad. He gets a Federal felony.

Exactly HOW MANY arrests were made in Portland? Out of a year, I see about 52, less than from one day so far in DC. And, guess what? NPR:
Review Of Federal Charges In Portland Unrest Shows Most Are Misdemeanors September 5, 20207:00 AM ET. Then, "91% of Portland Arrests NOT being Prosecuted" Yep. Dem Double Standards.

Oh, did any BLM/antifa protests include mock gallows?? Yeah. Has that been a theme since the 1700s? Yeah. Political theater.

CHAZ had like five murders.

The Capitol Hill riot had one cop killed (an outrage, but a murder case is well underway) and ONE PROTESTOR murdered (uh, no rush on that, let's keep the shooter's name undisclosed, we'll wink wink handle it).

The difference is a Democrat can't see a dozen murders, billions in property damage, and Federal state and local government buildings trashed and think it's wrong.

But, a few pea brains break a window and it's a 'sacred' place.

Only if your Religion is Dem Socialist Politics. We DO understand the double standards.

It is certainly true that any criminal misconduct engaged in by protestors should be handled appropriately. Often, that means criminal prosecution. Hopefully, everyone agrees that concept should apply across the political spectrum whether right, left, center, whatever.

However, let's not mistake the substantial difference in acts of misconduct, even criminal misconduct, with storming the US Capitol. This is especially true when it is occupied by both chambers of Congress, the VP, Speaker of the House, etc. (#2-X in the line of succession for the Presidency) and undertaking a basic function of our Constitution (counting electoral votes for President).

There simply is a vast difference between a protest gone out of control and attempts to overthrow Congress. Both should be subject to prosecution as the circumstances warrant, again regardless of politics of the participants. However, one is significantly more serious than another. Attempts to make it sound like BLM or other protests are the same thing as seeking to overthrow our nation's power structure through physical storming of the US Capitol completely miss the point. One is criminal, plain and simple, and should be treated as such. The other is treason which warrants a starkly more robust response.

What did Bennie do to any of you all? There are some mean words being thrown out.

As one of his constituents, I hate that he has not done more for MS. Not that anyone who committed crimes in Portland or elsewhere should be free from consequences. To the extent any of them committed a crime, they should be punished. But they did not physically attack the US Capitol while Congress was in session. It is not "fair" to call what they did the same as attacking Congress. Anyone who seems to think the other protestors should be treated the same as people who literally attacked Congress, which essentially is an act of war against the US, cannot be taken seriously. The two are very, very different.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
