Her career plan is toast now that trump is gone. Same for Tate. Delbert should make his move in 23.

Anonymous said...

Her consumer protection division is a JOKE! She is a horrible AG. The Peter Principle has caught up.

Anonymous said...

Delbert will most certainly make his move in 23...not to my liking, but yes.

We have an Attorney General?

Lynn should be disbarred for putting her name on a brief supporting the Texas challenge to Biden’s election when she knew the claims of widespread voter fraud was a lie, and when she knew MS had no standing to challenge another State’s voting procedures, which is what the Supreme Court of the US ruled. I am so disappointed she is such a pandering demagogue. Shame on her.

Go prosecute the Jackson water meter sleazeball salesmen and you’ll get our respect. Oh that’s right, that would bring a father/son Flowood politician combo into the fray. That ain’t gonna happen until a democratic us attorney takes over.

Anonymous said...

Hosemann will lose if he primaries Reeves.

Delbert will be almost 80 in 2023. We can do better.

Some are saying she never practiced law. Um, if I'm not mistaken, she was a bond lawyer when she first started.

Anonymous said...

Guess she spared every expense on the graphics. Is that header crayon?

Anonymous said...

I miss Windows 98

Anonymous said...

Right, a bond attorney, which is why she would make a mediocre Treasurer.

Except for that time she missed a bond payment, and no one knew what to do, not the Governor, not the bonding agency, certainly not her, because, you know, we are a State.

Anonymous said...

That's right Fish...a bond lawyer. Please tell us the duties, activities and courtroom successes of a bond lawyer. I think it's a notch below doing wills and divorces.

Men of her stature, background and ability are often called 'empty suits'. She's an empty red dress. But you already know this.

Meanwhile...How's that Wuhan-lawsuit against China coming along?

Anonymous said...

She needed a bond attorney in 2017 when MS missed a bond payment for the first time in over a century

Anonymous said...

"... when she first started."

Wasn't that over 20 years ago, now? The most powerful attorney in the state hasn't practiced law in over 20 years. Yikes.

Anonymous said...

Lynn should join up with CHS to film an all female remake of Dumb and Dumber.

Anonymous said...

“have worked each day to save the you, the people who make Mississippi so great.”

Is this a joke? A typo in the first damn paragraph by the attorney general? Or is “the you” like “the q”?

Kingfish said...

Well, Jim Hood had a good communications team but Lynn just had to fire them all if they didn't quit first.

Gov = bean counter

AG = Bond attorney

Congress critter - slum lord

Mayor = Marxist Progressive

What could go wrong?

2019 Statewide elected Democrats = None

2023 Statewide elected Democrats = Unlikely

Mississippi Democrats = Caught looking SOs every time

There's some real geniuses here sounding off about being a bond attorney and how that's not applicable to court room experience. There's more to being an attorney than just going to court and arguing cases. Arguing cases <> being a good AG. If you think that is a distinguishing attribute of managing attorneys then you likely have never had enough to need one for the other services.

I didn't see the Meridian murder case that made the news that she took over.

Anonymous said...

I’m liking the sound of that dumb and dumber remake. I’d like to submit a name for this instant classic: “Y’all We Dumbed”. The full sound track could be the benny hill song played with a banjo on repeat.

@10:18 AM - 10:11AM here - I am retired from one of the three largest AG's offices in the country.

It is critical that an AG have prior criminal courtroom experience, just like a sheriff or a chief of police have real law enforcement experience, i.e. on the street.

Anonymous said...

10:18 second comment.
I agree if Fitch would take a look at that case it would be an easy win! I know the former DA of Meridian went to work for Hood but had he stayed on to work for Fitch?? You know the DA that knew more about the case because his son ran around that group but ended closing the door on it, hmmm. Also while she is at it, why not open the 2002 Eddie Williams case and get herself an easy “W” , while all the perpetrators are still around posting pictures on social media.

@ 10:18

So what does make a good AG and where does Lynn fit? Her most touted accomplishment is appointing Mississippi's first Solicitor General, a position that does not exist in Mississippi, but that person never actually served in the role. Interesting accomplishment.

I will give her credit on knowing how to reach across the aisle. She cleaned out the US Attorney's Office's last liberal holdouts by giving them leadership positions. Same with recruiting Judge McCarty's law clerk to run appeals.

Ms. Fitch is one of the worst qualified persons to ever hold the office. She is a political hack who wastes precious limited resources to advance her partisan political agenda. There was no legal merit to her attempt to overturn the electoral results of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin which sovereign states represent about 10% of the total votes cast in the 2020 presidential election. The US Supreme Court summarily dismissed this unfounded lawsuit without any argument. Ms. Fitch was too ignorant to know very much about the law. She also bears some responsibility for the terrorist attack on the US Capitol on 1/6/21 by her promotion of these completely false claims of election fraud. A group she is a part of (Republican Attorneys General Association) sent out robocalls urging supporters to come to D.C. to "fight" Congress over President Donald Trump's baseless election fraud claims. The People of Mississippi should recall this failed disgraced politician and get a knowledgeable, competent and honest attorney to replace her.

Anonymous said...

She does have a very nice credenza behind her desk.

Anonymous said...

Gee, what has she done to all y'all to create such a significant amount of hate? Unless y'all contributed significant amounts of money to her opponents...

Anonymous said...

Nothing, that’s the problem, she does nothing.

Anonymous said...

@4:55 - Makes our state look stupid. We need a competent AG and she ain't it.

Things used to be different!

The guy used to be Governor used to be a Deputy Sheriff.

The guy used to be State Auditor had a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling.

Not To mention Bond Attorneys is important, otherwise how all them criminals gonna be let loose pretrial without an attorney to tell the judge iffn they get a bond they can get started turning there life around sooner!

did she find the voter fraud yet

DONT WORRY DONNY

LYNN IS COMING

Kingfish and others, the position of Attorney General is that of the "CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER" for the State of MS. The criticism of her is that she had "no prior experience" with enforcing the laws of MS on either the prosecution or the criminal defense side of the bar. Neither has she ever been to court and handled a civil trial herself. Consequently, the chief law enforcement officer (AG) of the State of MS knows very little about the legal process of enforcing the law criminally or civilly. Our AG wouldn't have a clue why an attorney working for the AG office failed to secure a conviction against a murderer, or failed to get a judgment against a pharmaceutical company for price fixing, because she's never done it and she doesn't understand the process. She can't manage what she doesn't know!

Anonymous said...

Yall never seem to get this upset when the MS Court of Appeals and Supreme Court make bad decisions/case law, and half if not more of the judges/justices never set foot in a courtroom and if they did it wasn't often.... Didn't Griffith come straight from the insurance commission?
I'd also like to know how many naysayers voted for the current AG?

Anonymous said...

I think Shad has arrested more people this week than Lynn convicted last year.

Everyone has regrets

Anonymous said...

The Lynn's defenders here are quick to argue that lack of experience does not matter in terms of AG qualifications. Ok, so what makes a good AG and what has Lynn done to be a good AG?

Anonymous said...

The Attorney General Office is not a law firm, nor has it ever been. Its primary purpose is to enforce the laws of Mississippi and prosecute those who violate the law pursuant to the statutes authorizing the AG to prosecute; it also represents State agencies and things of that nature ( there is civil litigation).

It has some of the finest criminal investigators the tax payers of this State could ask for. The great prosecutors that were there are no longer. Lynn Fitch gutted the prosecution arm of it. You could take the most experienced court room prosecutor, currently working full time at the office, multiply that prosecutors experience x10, and it would not come close to the experience of just one of the prosecutors that was let go.

In the AG’s press release, their wasn’t one mention of prosecuting a criminal;... not one. It is fine to educate and it is wonderful to assist victims of crime but it is horrendous to abandon the law abiding tax payer by not prosecuting the criminals that pray on them daily. Yes, the AG’s Office is still prosecuting but it is a “ shell of its former self”. Talented lawyers were hired but they had no experience to prosecute cases;... not the experience needed to do it affectively ( these lawyers are good people too).

Another poster referenced bringing lawyers from the US Attorneys office over ( good people and talented ) and that is fine but the US Attorneys Office compared to the AG’s office is like comparing “ apples to oranges”. It’s like appointing the nation’s top proctologist to be in charge of an OBGYN clinic...still a Doctor but no experience in it since a brief stint in medical school.

Do any of you think Lynn Fitch really wanted to be the AG to help people or was it to be MS’s first female ( I do think this is good for a politician) AG...just another title.

I’m a conservative American and I voted for Lynn Fitch and I have told the truth. I pray she does not run for AG again and if she does, I pray she has a good opponent bc MISSISSIPPI DESERVES BETTER.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
