Posted below is a 2014 interview with Stephen Hutton on the Rick & Bubba Show.  Hutton was the former Executive Director of the Mississippi Fairgrounds Commission.  Madison police and MBI arrested him Wednesday for promoting prostitution.  The interview is rather interesting as well as disturbing.

Hutton wrote a book, Pride Aside, about his son's drug addiction.  Some might see the book as a warning to parents while others see it as shameless exploitation of his son's misery.

Maybe the son can write a follow up book detailing his hypocritical, sex abusing, fake Christian father’s exploits and greed.

Albert Schweitzer said...

An earlier thread on this fellow's arrest described him as a narcissist.

The suggestion of shameless exploitation seems to carry over not only to the unfortunate girls this fellow allegedly pimped for but also for his own immediate family.

Consider the speech content in this interview-how many times does "I" come out of his mouth?

The whole mess seems very sad but perhaps the most sad part is that he wasn't "exposed" earlier.

If sin makes one a 'fake Christian' then everyone is a 'fake Christian'.

Lordy at 10:22. Was waiting for the 'let him who has not sinned' crowd to crawl out on the table.

10:22. no. sin doesn’t. claiming that you are so holy the whole time knowingly doing things like procure prostitutes does

UPDATE: There is a High Profile Person that was using his services. He wasn’t arrested but will be called as a witness if he doesn’t wiggle out of this.

Christianity is a mental disease thrust upon the planet by cultists. It has lead to some of the worst laws and persecutions in all of history. It should be thrown in the trash bin of history along with islam and judaism.

With hind sight what it is you can't help but wonder if this guy wrote this book to let himself off the hook for what he is or what's in his heart. It bothers me he's talking about a living son as he is. Usually it would be the son doing the talking about his own experiences not a father exploiting the son.

Anonymous said...

Agree with 10:36.

Why ANY father, or mother, would share this sort of info of a living child is difficult to understand. If the child was deceased, that'd be more understandable.

Also agree with the poster who pointed out his constant usage of "I" instead of "We".

It is no surprise to find a wolf hiding in sheep's clothing. It is also no surprise, that today's ministers are too carnal to expose his hypocrisy.
@10:33, you misspelled liberalism.

remind me again how many people have been killed by atheistic communists and socialists in our 'modern' world again? Not including the wuhan virus since we haven't gotten a final count on that yet. Was it 110 million or 150 million? Read a book.

Hate this for the family hope doesn't cause son to stumble I can imaging my life If this were my DAD.

Anonymous said...

This is a tragic situation for any family, but when I think of his wife and what she has had to endure, it's humbling. She's watched her son hit the absolute bottom with drug addiction, then her upright "Christian" husband is busted in Ashley Madison, then after she forgives him and stands by him, he's arrested for prostituting vulnerable girls.

This guy is a total sack of shit scumbag. I don't know his wife, but she doesn't deserve this.

To 10:33: Happy Easter.

Anonymous said...

@11:24, not sure where you get off claiming a virus you don’t even know the name of is an atheist issue. If anything, it’s churches that are openly defying public distancing orders to put themselves and their donations ahead of the public’s health. You may feel comfortable leaving your fate to Jesus, but I’ll follow the recommendations of the doctors and scientists.

Anonymous said...

What do we know about what happened? Like, what are the details? All I can find are just articles saying he was arrested for promoting prostitution. Also, isn’t that the same as human trafficing?

Anonymous said...

I wonder how he would be spending this weekend had he not been arrested.

My guess is pimping out teenage drug addicts on Friday and Saturday night, getting a couple of knob jobs on the side, then dressing up and singing hymns to Jesus on Easter Sunday.

Then on Sunday afternoon, "Sorry honey, gotta run to the office to prep for a meeting tomorrow!"

Instead, visits one of his girls. "Happy Easter, sweetcheeks! I got something besides a marshmallow peep to put in your mouth."

I hope this guy burns.

Imagine the pressure that damn book and all the speeches put on that kid. Not to mention the father trashes his friends pretty good in the book. It wouldn't surprise me if he was ostracized by more than a few of his friends. I mean, your business is put out there for everyone to see. It's not like he is telling this as part of his recovery to help others. Imagine the pressure on him to stay sober. Oh yeah, you're the guy who..... Just want a recovering addict wants to hear.

Not sure which part of this interview I found more astounding, given the current lot he has put himself in.

Three things did stand out:

1. The fact that he monetized his son’s addiction while painting himself as the perfect, virtuous parent is sickening. He seems to revel in making his son’s private screw-ups public knowledge, all the while continually reminding the listeners what a wonderful Christian example he always set for his family. I personally have lost a brother to substance abuse, so I know what it can do to a family. Glad that my father didn’t turn my brother’s death into a new career like this charlatan.

2. Hutton was completely non-plussed by the news his son had been SHOT IN THE HEAD?!?

3. He thinks his kid (who was a good, not elite, academy football/track athlete with no major offers in either sport) had a faster 40 time than Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, and the vast majority of Olympic sprinters. A 4.27!! Please.

Beyond his moral failings, the fact that this guy was in charge of a multi-million dollar state agency with zero experience outside of being a golf pro and motivational speaker speaks to why our state can never get ahead.

Will be interesting to see what details emerge now that the horse is out of the barn. Given the hypocrisy angle, this will be fresh meat for the national media, I would think.

Kingfish said...

He was also in charge of the ice rink in Madison.

You actually think someone bought the book? No one read that crap. Why do you think he's pimping girls? He didn't make a dime off of the book. If he made money, he'd only be purchasing and hosting.

Hutton really seems to embody the same greedy diseased mind of the majority of "Righteous Proselytizing Christians" I've encountered. If they aren't pimping or molesting, it is some other abhorrent behavior.

Strange that the most truly virtuous, kind, and generous religious people I've met were all Hindu, Sikh, and Buddhist.

The ecosystem of Judeo-Christian-Islamic faith breeds selfishness, lust, bigotry, and hate like no other. Maybe it starts with the widespread genital mutilation?

Dear " Are You Without Sin" crowd,

You all constantly miss the part about atonement and sinning no more.
You also ignore the warning about false prophets.

If your minister is committing the same sin over and over and over, maybe God is done with him or else he really isn't sorry.

Anonymous said...

1:36, I think hypocrisy has more to do with the tendency to hide our flaws under a veneer of righteousness, rather admit them. That, I think, is why 12-step recovery requires "rigorous honesty." We aren't supposed to judge either, but damn, this guy appears to be a complete POS.

I find it interesting that Madison continues to have these scandals among their most righteous God-fearing men. I am a Christian. I pray everyday. I search for knowledge and redemption through scripture. I don’t stand up and demand attention as many of these narcissists do. I will say this city is full of the most judgmental adults you’d find. They sure are worried about how short ladies’ skirts are, who has beer in the refrigerator, and whose kids drank in the 10th grade. It’s funny that their kids are doing the same thing and all most of the adults can do is continue to preach about their perfect life. I feel bad for their kids!

Anonymous said...

@2:53, I am 1:36.
I think you are right on. And I also think that the fundamental fears indoctrinated into us as children are the root of the hypocrisy. Children shouldn't be traumatized with the threat of judgement and eternal damnation.

Those girls were afraid of the power wielded by Hutton. His religious power and government power. They could tell he was not a man of physical strength or of intelligence, but he had power he claimed was in the name of Jesus.

It develops neurosis and leads to fear of authority. It is also the primary catalysts used to keep victims of sexual abuse silence by Judeo-Christian religious leaders.

Too many state employees are allowed to force their subordinates to pray and they act like religious leaders in the workplace. They infest every state agency.

I bet Ben knew something was wrong but had no idea what it was. I had the same thing with my father
and he was the absolute nicest most loved person in public but had a special affinity for tormenting me. I had people constantly tell me how much my father loved me. I cringed when he would do something in public to show his goodness. He had about the same issue this Moe has. For decades, his wife though something was wrong with her, I wondered why I was such a piece of shit all the while he was jovial and great. When his secret found the light of day, he recoiled in horror at the mirror placed before him. He was shattered.

The day he died is still the most fond memory. I also hope my favorite sins live in secret.

@5:38, yeah we state employees should all bow our heads at the staff meeting as Rev. Supervisor forces us into submission of his religious beliefs so we can feed our children.

I work for a state agency and our manager tells us to bow our heads in prayer for every meeting and agency function. Nobody speaks up because everyone is scared.

The exact same manager that would approve my assignments and promotions. And his supervisor is a zealot too. It's like a taxpayer funded theocracy without elections.

For those who whip out the crap about "let those without sin..."

Pimping particularly vulnerable young girls to perverts isn't merely a "sin," and if you think it is, you're as completely messed up as anyone who would do anything remotely close to such a thing. If this your measuring stick for "a sin," then I am free to say whatever I wish because I am totally without "sin."

But for those of you who are determined to see something like this as just another sin that Christ will forgive, I'd say that _if_ he did do it, Christian people such as you and he shouldn't have any problem with him getting a chance to make his case for salvation directly to God as soon as he can. Why, shucks, I'd think as a Christian man, he'd not be concerned about what some mere mortal secular court might say and he'd want to go straight to the big guy right away and make a in-person beg for His forgiveness rather than that of mere people.

Maybe I'm just a hardass, but if I were his family I'd happily help him escape and seek redemption...by baking him a cake with a rope in it.

Anonymous said...

By my estimation there are about 4 people commenting on this thread, and one has a genuine antipathy toward Christianity. An antipathy that is about as sophisticated as a goth teenager loudly proclaiming her atheism in earshot of her parents, just to "get back at them". It's incredibly tiresome. Go post on r/atheism. The kiddies over there eat that shit up.

Sin is anathema to Christ, and Christ forgives sin. That is the bedrock tenet of Christianity. However, there are differences in how we as a society judge those sins. There is a big difference between a guy who looks lustfully at a woman in yoga pants and a man who is prostituting out young girls for illicit gain. Christ may indeed forgive the earnest penitent man, but that is between the sinner and Christ.

It is not a matter of if we have sinned. Of course we have! But that does not mean there is no secular justice. It's a woefully bad application of Christ's exhortation against "casting the first stone" to suggest that means we should all just shut up and let him slide because we looked at PornHub while the wife was sleeping.

This is a man who, by the account, was prostituting girls under the guise of helping them as a man of God. If you cannot see that this behavior needs to be called out, then you do not understand the role of a Christian.

This man is execrable if these charges are true. He does not need to be given a pass on any level, and his wife and children and victims need our prayers.

And so, indeed, does he.

Anonymous said...

@11:28, I'm sure Hutton was anticipating your prayers and forgiveness everytime he made $100 selling flesh. I wonder if he tithed 10% on his filthy lucre?

How did the son’s friends treat him after the book came out? Poor guy. I feel the worst for him.

Some of the Baptist’s and Methodists in this thread need to take time to read the New Testament again.occasional sin?ok. Addition to sin=/=Christian lifestyle. If you don’t want to reread the NT, try “Pursuit of Holiness “. Learn why it’s wrong to be addicted to the sin.

What is the fate of the habitual, unrepentant Christian sinner? Who was Jesus talking about when he said, “Depart from me for I never knew you” in reply to those that were professing, practicing Christians.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for stepping up, 11:28. Although I question your rather presumptuous estimate that only about 4 people have commented on a post probably viewed by several hundred, the rest of your comment said what I wanted to say better than I could say it.

Kingfish said...

Try several thousand.

Anonymous said...

Several thousand? Really? I wonder if that angry athiest drove up the clicks?

Anonymous said...

KF, I started to write several thousand, then figured I'd rely on you to correct me. They idea that only a few voices are heard in the comments makes it much easier to marginalize them when the more-or-less same opinion keeps resurfacing. Personally, I take that as a sign of consensus, rather than just a few squeaky wheels. Thanks -11:11

Anonymous said...

Kingfish - You pander to non Christians by letting all their anti-Christian posts slide in under that radar. Why is that?

Anonymous said...

Concerning the narcissist comment. Most people can't define or identify a narcissist. But most can be very dangerous, especially if they know that you have discovered their personality. To them, life is a serious game, and a game they must win at all costs. Other people are pawns to be used, destroyed, and discarded. They are experts at reading people, then becoming what that person expects in order to exploit them. No one is safe, not their relatives, even their children can be used and sacrificed.

Most narcissists only have children in order to fill out the perfect image, and they believe the child will be useful without any effort from the parent. But having and caring for children is a hard and selfless thing. When the Narcissist Personality (NPD) discovers this, most children end up with severe issues.

I have had more than my share of NPD experiences. 3 of them hated people who wore tinted or reflective glasses, because they need to see your eyes to determine how to "read" someone and use them.

NPD mothers often select 1 child as the golden child, and another as the scapegoat. Because a NPD bores easily, they enjoy pitting their children against each other.

I knew one NPD who became premature bald before 20. And he hated almost anyone who had hair and especially if they groomed it well. I saw him do things those people never knew about in an attempt to sabotage their lives.

When a normal pre-mature bald man looks in the mirror, they may resent it, possibly feel regret or a small pain like squeezing the flame out on a match.

When a NPD looks in the mirror, he sees a massive defect and resents anyone with hair. The pain they feel is like gas being poured on them and set afire.

You can go for years being the target of a NPD and not know it.

They must win, because they deserve the best of everything, and will do anything to win.

If you have ever shook hands with someone that was a "dead fish" shake. Most probably, that person was a NPD, and allowed you the pleasure of touching them.

Studies show that some NPDs inside, don't identify as male or female. Because to win, they will do anything to get ahead.

Usually they are very charismatic, and have multiples of "Flying Monkeys" to execute their plans. They can be in a room with a dozen people, and be a different person with each one.

Steve Hutton is arrogant and self serving! The drugs and problems started in high school ,not college for Ben. The pressures on Ben were from Steve, Steve is the biggest hypocrite and churches in our area gave him a pulpit to help grow his ego! Was Broadmoor funding Steve’s mission to help these young girls? I hope if they were funding it, they will come forward and admit it.
I watched Steve at MRA, he is an opportunist, He lost his job at PromiseKeepers due to Ashley Madison list, He failed to pay all vendors when he promoted Ice Skating in Madison. Steve was promoted by churches and politicians in our area to speak about addictions in our area. He is a smooth operator doing this under a church guise. False prophet is a good description. Sooo glad he got caught finally. As far as Joni, if her name was snoopy sniffer as Steve says in his interview, she certainly may have corona virus because her sniffer is not working if she didn’t Sniff Steve and his shenanigans,
I bet you, he was providing girls to some of those Legislators living at fairgrounds in their motor homes,,Wait and see,
I hope Steve rots,,, but Ben liked the fake fame too!
You finally got what you wanted Steve, you’re Famous , Famous for being a piece of Shit,

Kingfish, this is one of the better discussions and people do read the comments as it is usually the rest of the story.

I hope you allow me to say that Church is where the powerless can obtain power by pretending to be the biggest believer, a true person to look up to. They are not, a truly great person never wants that attention. There are only so many Aw Shucks, this is just how I ams to go around. The people that love to go to church always fall for this crap and the power seeker is there to soak it up. They will do anything for some power somewhere. Parents who act like they are so in tune with Christ that they are infallible usually are hiding the worst of behaviors but want the power that the image givens then in certain circles. This drives children to madness as they can not even trust their own experiences as they are completely manipulated by their false acting parent.

Church is also where a Homosexual male can find a wife who will agree to not have sex until marriage, then surprise, he isn't down for it then either. The girls raised extremely strict fall for this. Sex is bad is hammered into them so bad that they choose a partner who magically can wait too. The percentage of men I see that are the church regulars who are gay with decent seeming wives is too high for coincidence.

His “ Fall from Grace” will be the topic of his next book and probably fulfill the next few chapters of his life. Can’t wait to see the title. Always happens and needless to say he seems to be pretty good at leading sheep and sadly his wife could possibly be one of the weakest of the herd. Don’t know her personally but if I had to guess her God is going to convince her to stand behind her man. Sad but probably true and we’ve all seen it. He’ll bullshit his way through this and in a few short years be back in the game.

I wonder how many powerful legislators and commissioners are sweating bullets during Easter Service knowing they used Hutton's "services" and scared that he is spilling his guts to MBI. Another commenter stated they have his little black book. Must be why WLBT is silent about this arrest.

I watched a video of Steve speaking at MC. Of course it was all about him and nothing really about Ben other than what a POS he was. Poor Steve... Ben didn’t live up to his expectations so Steve couldn’t live through his son like he wanted. During his speech, he asked Ben how much he paid for an adderall. Ben said 8.00 he thought. Steve said “ no, it was 10.00.. like that’s the most important thing to talk about! Bens face turned white out of embarrassment. When you’re dealing with addiction a 2.00 difference is nothing to argue over. I listened to the interview with rick and bubba.. when Steve was talking about the baseball pic incident I thought “ damn dude he could already tell he didn’t like you at age 10!”.. kids are smart they know when they’re being exploited and used. I also watched Steve at MRA. He prodded around there like he owned the place while acting like he was Tom cruise in Jerry McGuire. I hope Joni sees him for what he is and kicks him to the curb. They will probably send him to sex rehab or something to get this dropped

The interviewer leaves a lot to be desired. Can you say sycophant? The book was not a NY Times best seller, the boy was a good private school athlete (just like most boys), and what is the connection between these two?
He said he read the book twice and it gave him chills each time. What? About a dad’s disappointing journey through addiction with his son?
He said Steve’s son was a dream come true, what every dad dreamed of. Having a super athlete as a son. What? Some dad’s like that their son plays in bands. Some like that they are super intelligent. Some like that they can just walk or speak due to some disease. Very shallow!
It seems that Steve got this guy to promote his book and subsequent “tour “ with the Promise Keepers. Maybe he got a kick back. I don’t know or care. Definitely the good ole boys slapping each other in the back. I bet this guy knows what’s in the Little Black Book.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required.
