Wouldn't this be an "Amber" alert?
Certainly hope this child is safe somewhere and found soon. The key word here being CHILD and thus an Amber Alert vs. Silver Alert, which is for senior citizens an adults with mental "limitations".
It's also used for missing persons who have cognitive disorders.
Each state does it its own way, and many use Silver for those with development disorders or disease to include the young, not just those over 65.
IOTW, not an abduction.
2:15, in Mississippi Amber Alerts can only be issued for children under the age of 17 who are determined to be in danger and with a person who is not their parent. In order to coordinate communication and search efforts for children not meeting those criteria, the MBI developed another level of missing/at-risk child: the "Endangered / Missing Child Alert." Still not sure why this is listed as a Silver Alert.
The alert thing is a little too complicated for DPS employees to understand.
I hate these things. Prayers she is safe and found soon.
Where is Angie Drive? I cannot find it on the map in Hinds county. Is it a rural area?
Last seen at 3:40 am?!? Uh huh.
Thanks for that explanation, 9/26 @ 4:17. Didn't know the limit in MS is under 17. Seems a little ironic, though, since the release says "Endangered / Missing Child Alert".
Am I the only one who realizes 95% of these alerts, regardless of hue or tint, wind up resolved with 'cancelled, person found and is safe'? Or is it 99%?
She was found in Adams County on Wednesday and returned to her family in Jackson. She was a runaway. Happy ending, hopefully.
